Halo: Combat Evolved, best first person shooter so far on any platform out there. And it only gets better as time goes by and these new shooters can’t touch the whole experience the Halo: CE delivers. Gameplay is pure gold.

Yes but for many tracks, the remixes are very close to the original tracks from the Halo videogames. And you can believe me I use to listen Halo soundtracks for years! 😀

These cues were early concepts for Halo’s score, most were rejected several tracks were actually used in later scores I.E Love Song was actually used in Halo 3.

(I’m always working on the best of like i did for Zelda. For now, I have 40 tracks (it was my objective) from 8 albums: Halo, Halo 2 Vol.1, Halo 2 Vol.2, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Halo Wars, Halo – Extra tracks and Video Games Live Vol.1 (~Halo suite))

I’m thinking about put together some of the tracks by themes as I did for Zelda (Take a look!: Overworld themes, Arbiter Themes, Heroic themes, Mombasa Themes, Action Themes in the order of the games (In all case for Halo 1, 2 and 3. For ODST and Halo Wars i’ll put tracks in a coherent way between others!). But I also can put tohether all the Action themes from all the Halo(s) to have a great end of album (like Zelda :p )

Heroic Themes: Enough dead heroes, The Last Spartan, Spirit of fire

There is just the music from the alo trailer on the first page. I also have it thanks to a member of this forum in lossless. After it’s one track with SFX. In my opinion, we just have to wait october for the original soundtrack or the rip.

woah, reach already? Though it was suppose to be out in 2 weeks or smth. After a brief listen I’d say that it’s true to epic style. Good work, a bit ‘old school’ tho. Sounds really ‘prequelish’, lol. I found two downs: no famous halo theme (it’s a different halo, but still halo!), and some more atmospheric piano, like in halo wars.

Like Deep darker setting so to speak. Regard less OST to suppose to represent Humans last stand and the fall of reach. Halo Wars was had a very good score.

the mp3 version is out. its the cd that comes in two weeks. thus we’ll hopefully see a flac version then 🙂

The guy is a pretty awesome violinist. Can’t find ANYTHING about an ost release. I hope they do because I loved it. It had a good 40 mins of music probably.

In Lossless i only have Halo CE OST in M4A (Apple Lossless). All the soundtracks i own are in MP3 320 kbps!

Some of those tracks aren’t the best quality available after a look at them with Spek, I’d recommend grabbing the following tracks from Halo 4 Volume 2 in FLAC and converting them to MP3 (if you prefer that format) for higher quality.

Never Forget is just a shortened version of the midnight mix from Vol 2, I’ve just deleted that from my own library as a result.

Also I’m looking out for a higher quality version of Desecration, I found a slightly higher quality version of Desecration on youtube, it’s cut off at 15KHz rather than 13KHz but it’s only 126KBps AAC, I’ll ask around and see if anyone can upload a FLAC.

Ever since most of the Halo games since Halo 4 hopped to the Wwise middleware (Even Bungie made the move to it with Destiny), it’s made audio extraction far more difficult (Or at least getting them out with their names). It certainly isn’t helpful that to my awareness Xbox One remains a no-go for this sort of thing (This is now being achieved for titles on the PlayStation 4, but I think it’s still early days) & the only PC releases outside the Windows 10 Store’s grasp were Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, Halo: Spartan Assault & Halo: Spartan Strike, the former using Wwise & the two-latter using FMOD (FSB) when not leaving it’s music as simple OGG files.

There have been audio extractions of Halo Wars in the past (Which made me curious to pick up the Definitive Edition on Steam), but I don’t think they managed to do so with names. I’ve been hanging onto a couple of .RARs Gamecheat13 provided containing some Beta music & Announcer files from Halo Wars 2, but only the latter has names & the former is mostly a maze of "pack_launch_00_15" or "pack_streamed_00_504" (A common problem dealing with Wwise extractions, as anything past Ravioli Game Tools or Riveal 11.1 is simply beyond me). I’ve got them reuploaded for you as I think they got taken down (If they didn’t get buried in his Twitter):

I prefer to stay on my side. It’s a topic I opened 10 years ago. Though if there are some rare stuff I don’t have I can ask him for the permission to have it here too 😉

I passed so many hours doing this thread (you can count it in days) so believe me it’s not that easy. My personal physical collection is one thing, this is another. There are many albums in FLAC I found on web passing hours and finally got them on japanese forum websites so as you can guess putting sources can sometimes be quite complicated. Some albums are also coming from me or "set up" by myself (some splitted versions from scratch by example). I don’t do this job for myself I do it for all people who are seeking for Halo soundtracks. If it doesn’t make people happy I will erase it because it’s too much work to don’t get a bit of gratitude. I don’t mention the best of I made from all soundtracks which took hours and hours to be put together. When you take into account all the time passed on this, this is a little bit "your" thread. So no I don’t want to share it excepted if I can relay great work from other people on Halo soundtracks getting their authorization first.
