While the level of interactivity is still up in the air and having worries about how truly ground breaking they can make it this is without a doubt the first time where I’ve been made speechless by something to come out of the games industry. I mean, I love the games industry to the point whereby I want it to be my career but this is special. It it all comes together it’ll be something that should not only have the ability to bury the Wiis waggle stick but break through to the mainstream and get people to notice the leaps within the gaming industry. You can have your Metal Gears and Halos, this sounds just lovely.
Thoughts?
It’s really these kinds of developments that keep me associated with gaming as a hobby. I like a new instalment of X series, but I moreso look to new types of games and entertainment as tech improves. And to call this a game seems deficient.
To me this was more impressive than anything else in their conference by far. Seems like it could be revolutionary if they handle it right.
Asamiya, that strikes me as comparing a PC to a calculator. At least that’s what I’m lead to believe. It’s similar, but from how they presented it, seems much more complex than a mic game like Hey you, Pikachu! (N64) or Seaman (DC) given the camera. I mean if Lionhead isn’t stretching (and we know how Peter can do that) it can actually attempt to read the emotion in your voice and face. I really haven’t heard of that in gaming.
Later on, I was a bit more impressed. When she drew the picture and just flashed it at the camera quickly, and "it" went through to the other side and he recognized the color and everything, that was pretty neat.
Either way, definitely something to keep an eye out for. A good stepping stone, if it is all that it’s cracked up to be. Will be interesting to see how they can incorporate similar technology into games that aren’t just "talk to this kid". Imagine a good puzzle game with this kind of interactivity.
It’s not like it’s recording a copy of what’s going on in front of the camera somewhere. I don’t see where you’re connecting this to being a threat to privacy. Again, I can only hope it turns out like it appears to be promising but we’ll see.
Also, what fun is involved, It’s interesting to watch but it may have been scripted.
that way i can feel like i was playing N.U.D.E., which i wanted to play so badly.
I know it doesn’t feature guys with over sized muscles, massive fuck off guns or it’s not littered with every stereotype possible but I think it looks fantastic.
So at e3 what did impress you and why? Not being a cunt just wondering what floats your boat, gangsta boi.
Also, anyone remember Seaman on the Dreamcast? As soon as I saw it flashes of that came back to me. Great game for what it was though.

Wow, Denny, a little defensive over Milo there? What was shown wasn’t very impressive. Oh damn, a motion sensor camera that responds to voice and patterns. How. Original. But not really. Looks more like a parent sim than anything and anyone who gets excited over that is loopy. or a pedo
What impressed me? Well not much, to be honest. Modern Warfare 2 was something I could look forward to, seeing as they raised the bar so much (which I didn’t think was possible.) Uncharted 2 looked stunning! The entire graphical engine was absolutely impressive, with how much was going on and being affected by everything. Granted, I probably wouldn’t pick it up just for that. If anything, I’d rent it and be "OOH SHIT IT’S PRETTY" for the entire duration. Assassin’s Creed 2 due to the immense amount of content and features being added, in order to improve from the first.
So yeah, out of everything shown, those three titles would fall under the "I’m impressed" category.
But don’t get me wrong, without a real time working demo of Milo it’s hard to say if it’ll be as good as I think it looks. Additionally, Peter Molyneux tends to over hype stuff but I’m being optimistic. It’s just that because I want to eventually get into the industry I really try to welcome new ideas. Granted it’s not exactly new (Seaman, N.U.D.E) but it seems like a giant leap in progression.
Modern Warfare 2 and the like is a given that it’ll be good unless Infinity Ward make a balls of it but at least Milo is throwing us a curve ball in what we expect from games. I think in the age of gaming we’re in sequels are a dime a dozen that slightly rework the original games mechanics and announcements like this are rare.
Just saying and don’t mean to sound like a defensive asshole.
also more stuff about it

The concept is pretty cool and I like the Natal idea, but not so sure if "Milo" will be something I’ll be getting.
But MTGS:R on the 360 on the other hand….
