Squall is about 6 levels higher than everyone else at this point, since everyone gains levels at the same rate, is there any way for the rest to catch up? Same goes for GFs.
I dont suppose theres a less tedious option to drawing magic rather than spamming draw constantly?
How do you challenge caraway to a game of cards for rinoa’s card? I cannot find a time to talk to Caraway, immediately after he enters the room, he starts the briefing, we leave the house, after that the moment i enter the house he leaves again and i no longer have a chance to talk to him.
Is there any way to alt-tab out of the game?
How do i exit back to the title screen?
Is draw affected by magic? I noticed that Zell with nothing junctioned to magic almost always fails to draw anything, while my other 2 members with magic junctioned almost always draw 8 or 9 spells in one go.
And don’t double post just to say "bump" on a thread that’s only a freaking day old.
-How do you tell which GFs are "opposite element" from each other? Ifrit and Shiva are really obvious, but the rest?
-What is a "no level" game?
-How are enemy levels calculated? Is it an average of your party member’s levels? Does it take the lowest? Or something else?
Or at least on numerous websites…
Question2, check out Gamefaqs (http://www.gamefaqs.com) or one of many other sites for the info.
Well, there was that one kid in that FFVII thread …
But brah, that kid was on the journey of a lifetime! He needed our help damnit!
Has a few ideas…

You may be on to something…
@IDX: Yeah, it was complete nonsense, but I enjoyed it π
Is there any way to go back to areas like the d-district prison after you have left them? Im pretty sure no.
Regarding the card game, has anyone figured out how the trading rules spread? Changing the rule in balamb by playing the card queen was easy enough, but after playing at balamb garden constantly, the rule suddenly switched to "One" from "Diff". After playing the card queen at dollet, the rule suddenly switched from "One" to "Direct", despite not actually having played any "Direct" games with the card queen.
After getting the card queen back to balamb and the trading rule back to "One", the trading rules in other regions seem to still be stuck on "Direct"(i assume this is somehow related to the dominant region the card queen talks about), but at this point the trading rules seem to be switching pretty much randomly with little to no action on my part(playing the card queen 10+ times under "Diff" rules failed to change the rules at all for example). Maybe it takes ingame or real time for the rules to spread out from what is considered the dominant region?
1.) Kill Squall until the other characters catch up, or if you can take him out of the party (can’t remember) do it. As for GF’s just don’t equip them and they wont gain EXP/AP. It really doesn’t matter if Squall is above the average level.
2.) The card game can be used to get magic, and is more fun/less tedious to me than drawing. But it depends on how good you are and how long you’re willing to grind GF AP for abilities to be able to do it.
3.) You can challenge for the Rinoa card later in the game. I’m not entirely sure if you can do it right when you meet him, but the Rinoa card may only be available when you lose a specific card, and then win them both. So I’d wait til later.
4.) To Alt-Tab, hit Alt+Tab. If it doesn’t work, check to make sure you’re doing it right, or try Alt+f4. That always works.
5.)The escape or F1-F12 buttons are usually the group that has a pause button in there. From the pause should be a menu to exit the game. I’m not sure on this one because I’ve never played the PC version.
6.)I noticed the magic=drawing? question is already answered. π
7.) Are you meaning compatible with the player it’s junctioned to? Or compatible to other GF’s? Because a GF’s compatibility is only important to the player it’s junctioned too I believe. It affects the summoning speed and maybe even damage. As for the elements, just think, opposites are….opposites.
8.)D-District Prison re-entry? I’m saying no, but I’m not entirely sure.
9.)Gamefaqs.com would be a great help here, but iirc, the way to eliminate a rule is to continually ask to play, and the npc will ask to merge the rules, just say no. After doing so a certain number of times (random) they’ll eliminate a rule (also random). It can take a few tries, but that’s how I took out the random rule in Dollet early in the game. Also, if you’re looking to spread rules just play anyone and everyone. You’ll spread rules fast, like std’s kinna fast.

Wrong.
Siren’s attack ‘Silent Voice’ deals non-elemental damage and inflicts Silence on all enemies. Leviathan deals Water damage with Tidal Wave. Leviathan is water elemental, Siren is non-elemental, aka typeless.

And I decided to take a look at the questions you asked before Question and you did NOT ask about compatibilities of the GFs. Apparently, from the start, each GF will not have the same compatibility to all characters. You can check this from the GF menu to see which GF is most compatible to which character. The more that character uses that GF, then the faster it will come out. But if that character has other GFs junctioned to him/her, then the other GFs will get "jealous" and the result will be a lower compatibility with them. And because you have trouble detecting obvious things, then those "jealous" GFs won’t be as quick to come out.
But don’t worry, you won’t notice the change right away. But you can see it in the GF menu.
Ive noticed the following so far : Ifrit/Shiva, Quetzatacol/Leviathan, Siren/Cabuncle.
I know how to spread/abolish card game rules(which sadly involves a lot of reloading due to the randomness…). Im more concerned with the trading rules, "One" "Diff" "All" and "Direct". They seem to randomly change due to no input, the FAQs ive seen dont talk much about it(they just say challenge card queen and the rule may change).
For example i managed to get "Diff" established in balamb/timber/deling city, with balamb being the dominant region. I go to FH and for some reason the trading rule is "One".
Also noticed that in sudden death games, from the second round onwards, there seems to be a chance that you and your opponent will swap cards(if you have seifer and your opponent has geezard, on the second round your opponent might have seifer and you might ahve geezard instead), but ownership of the cards itself doesnt change after the game. Seems kind of odd, since that wasnt mentioend in the rule description…
Is it normal for some NPCs to take a long time to decide their moves? The boy in balamb garden that runs around the map decides very quickly for example, while someone like the FH mayor can take 5+ seconds per card(and thats with 5 cards in his deck…) before deciding which to use.
Alt-tab doesnt work for the PC version. Seems disabled. Although i can get back to desktop with ctrl-alt-delete and opening the task manager, with a low chance of the game crashing.
Also found out that holding ctrl+r on the field/world map will quit you back to the title screen, but theres still the annoying squaresoft logo to deal with.
In regards to Squall’s level gap with the other party members, i found it easier to edit his xp with a memory editor.
…
This isn’t PokοΏ½mon.
If you do not like Squall being several levels ahead of the rest of the cast, you can just kill him and do a bit of grinding like that, lol. The rest of the crew levels up without him. Too bad, "Squally Squirrel." (as my sister calls him, lawlz)
:rob:
What a fgt.
