I actually really like this. Other than "Confusing Boy" which sounds like every "anime romantic comedy silly moment" track in existence the composer keeps the soundtrack from falling into that trap, and instead composes something soulful, touching, and not heavily reliant on synth. The use of piano here is quite skillful and reminds me of early 90’s romantic comedies like Groundhog Day, very fitting for soundtracks of this kind. Surprisingly, there’s barely any Japanese influence on here too, the music being played sounds very Western in feel. Even more synth-ish numbers like "Pleasant Beating" have a soul of their own and don’t sound cheap or phoned-in at all. I also like that many of the tracks are quite lengthy, and several of them steadily build up in power and emotion, when tracks like "Pure White Story" do this it is very moving and can transport you to faraway places . . .

This is what Japan needs to take notice of when more Kimi ni Todoke-esque shows are made. You need music like this. Not music that sounds like cheap videogame throwaway pieces. Fantastic work by S.E.N.S. Project. It’s too bad she doesn’t get a ton of work. I do hope that an "OST 2" is released someday but OSTs for shows like this are few and far between (for good reason in some cases, for no good reason in others) so I suppose it’s near-miraculous we’ve gotten even one release.

Check out Kurau: Phantom Memory’s scores, by the way. Same composer, similar style except a little more intense on occasion. Hell, maybe I’ll upload them one day.

This is an awesome OST, but I feel it’s not complete without the score arrangements for the OP and ED themes. The acoustic guitar version and the piano versions sound just lovely.

At some endings in the anime. Like episode 17 and 25, there is like a Christmasy type of background song. Does anyone know if its one of those tracks? Or is it a forgotten "don’t give a crap" track only in the anime. T_T

It had some sort of um……Christmas-y feel to it. Like bells or something. Had a synchronizing sound to it. Check out the episode and scroll at the end. It was especially longer at the last episode. Near the end.
