Takehiro- in your spare time between uploading scores, would you be able to post the track listings of the albums, so we can work out which ones are expanded versions of what we already have? It would be fantastic if you could.

Going to check out GoldenEye next. Want to compare the original film’s score with the N64 game’s score with eventually Arnold’s score for the new game. I hope Arnold retains some of the same elements, the way the N64 game did.

I have this score on 2 CD’s already in WMV format so should be interesting to see how much it differs.

I’ve been listerning to CR. Can’t see much difference in what I have already except for a couple of extra beats in the African chase music from the begining of the film.

Have you any idea when the next uploads will be up?

I noticed that "You Know my Name" was shorter, but haven’t gotten to CCTV yet, but as you say, the chances are that I won’t notice the "mere Milliseconds".

But it these slight difference that I like in a soundtrack.

Still looking forward to TSWLM, to see what you have, especially since many people are after the opening "Ski Chase" music that appeared in the movie & not the "bond 77" tune that everybody has.

I didnt say these would blow everyone away, I just said they are the best expanded versions I’ve seen (well, heard) so far.

This will be my third version of this score or a duplicate of one that I already have.

Can never decide should the gunbarrel/surf up be 2 seperate tracks or just one.

This will help me decide as both my previous versions have the above either joined or seperate.

However, Antonov was one CUE composed from two PARTS, so on the CD its presented as one cue.

Allot of people are getting this , its just busy.

Whose insane idea was it to put that "Eastern Lights" cue in between that beautiful music is beyond me.

It would seem that my 2 previous releases is a mix of this one. Checking every track is a pain as they are all named different.

Other than the gunbarrel/Surf track which is ment to be two seperate tracks, I also have another "The Party" music which runs for 1.33 mins/secs.
The perice that is here on this new release is marked as "Alternative" on one of my previous downloads.

Sadly my other DAD downloads are a mix of 192kb & 320kb, so I’ll be sticking with the higher rate.

Another thing that is sticking with me at the moment is the "UA" logo music that preceeds all bond’s films. Some have this in place, some do not but is not major as it is not part of the bond score, unless you want every peice from the film.

"The Party" music on the Bond Records bootleg is just a homemade mix from the 10 min Dirty Vegas track on my 2CD. You can spot the edits in Audition if you look at it. My Party music is Arnold’s original composition, that was chucked out and replaced with a mix of the Dirty Vegas track.

OK let me make sure I understand you here- You’re saying, for every score I do not yet have, I’m supposed to download it from the other bond thread, download it from here too, and THEN compare the tracks?! Presumably with my infinite bandwidth?

Well, you know what tracked music is, right? The film edit (keyword: EDIT) basically amounts to the same thing. Why do I need a cut-down version that wasn’t what Jack White wrote (and incidentally, I like the song) when I can have the full version that Jack White wrote?

I didnt realise having choice was a bad thing. You get both versions on the CD so whats the issue?

The film version of the title song hasnt had a commercial release, so to have it here is a nice bonus, I think. Plus its what you hear in the movie. Hearing it in a cutdown form recreates the aural experience from the movie, it keeps the pace up I think.

I understand that LTK title track runs at around 5 mins as does an extendend version of TLD by AHA, so always welcome these as bonus tracks at the end.

A film score be it Bond, Star Trek, The Losers or what ever is to remind me of parts of the film when i listern to the score.
If anyone else is expecting something else, then maybe they shoul;dn’t be listerning to soundtracks.

Also MrM, the main title on the LTK expanded score I have is NOT a cutdown from the album version. The opening is entirely different for one. This is a case where its better to have the film version, as its a different mix and not an edit.

Bond songs were often cutdown or indeed mixed twice for the films – once for the title song and once for the album. Some of them — The Man with the Golden Gun, Diamonds are Forever — were the same on the album and on the film’s title sequence.

The longer version has a longer lead-in and repeats the chorus. The shorter version was generally only available on vinyl (this was 1989) but a limited edition CD single was available.

Thats not the only change. The beginning is entirely different compared to the 12" version too; its missing Knight’s vocal and some of the percussion/instrumentation.

I was really hoping for the Bar Music though, and ‘RUN’, when Bond and Camille receive the note.

To Take’s credit. He was very open about Quantum not being much longer than the commercial release.

Just sucks tho. Kinda wish they’d release all the music, but in MCA’s or whichever music company owns the Bond music eyes there probably isn’t a high enough demand for them. We can only pray movies Octopussy, A View to a Kill, and Moonraker get official expansions.

Wasn’t it mentioned in the original music thread that some of the masters have been destroyed/gone missing, which include Moonraker.

It’s a bit like what the BBC did with there film Archive ion the 70’s and cleared certain things out because they throught there was no future demand and it may be the case here.

Havin said that in he "Music from ITC" cd release they released some cues from the short lived tv series "The Zoo Gang" as this is all they said existed.

It now looks that research have unearthed enough music from the programe to do a 2 CD release.

Lets hope that the Bond Masters haven’t been destroyed and are either in Private hands or been mis-labeled.

Regarding Octopussy and A View to a Kill, Lukas Kendall, who was in charge of the 2003 re-releases, said in an interview that he didn’t know where the masters were.

I thought the offical expanded release was originally good, but this is something totally different.

I’ve just spent the best part of 45 mins listening to LALD and must agree, it is of better quailty and I just love the cd front sleeve.

This was the 2nd Bond film i saw as a kid, and the score brings back mamy meroies of the film.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for NSNA if it ever become avalible.
Not the best Bond film, but it does have it moments since it does feature Connery.

Its not complete, just expanded (and slightly at that). Its a good find, but not quite what you’re looking for unfortunately.

I still love it, its just not as good as some of his others, like You Only Live Twice, The Living Daylights (both awesome) or A View to a Kill (which is my favourite).

Thunderball is simply okay. I found Barry’s work on the From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, and You Only Live Twice to be stellar. Thunderball just feels like its there in contrast, and lacks the highlights of the others. My favorite cues from Thunderball are the ones that derive from previous themes, such as 007 or the Bond theme. Its a good score, but it just feels like the best material from it is done better in his other work on the series.

Thunderball just totally nails the underwater theme, and isn’t afraid to be a bit bombastic. My personal favourite bit is when Bond is sneaking into Largo’s estate after dark. It’s got that perfect quiet highly-strung tension type of stealthy music that only pops up a few times in the scores, like in Goldfinger when Bond waits till dark to get into Goldfinger’s factory, and in OHMSS in Blofeld’s Plot, where Bond escapes his cable car room prison and sneaks up over the rail and back inside Piz Gloria.

In a week my brother – who is a Barry fanatic in his own right – will have his 4Oth birthday. And there’s nothing in the world (and I mean nothing) that would make him happier than finally being able to listen to the complete scores of

Four scores I tried to catch in vain in their entirety, until now. So, as my deadline is set and the ticking clock is ticking, all I need to know from you is: Will these four scores be up until next Thursday (22/07)?

Eric Serra was okay for Bond, but mostly if you’re familiar with Eric Serra to begin with. His approach was very new to the series. I like his version of the Gunbarrel though, I can’t get enough of it everytime I watch it or played the N64 game of Goldeneye.

However, as much as I like David Arnold, his score for TND seems to be incomplete. It’s hard to find the "Backseat Driver" track. In the movie, there’s a part in the middle where the bass is booming, very low, it just slides around. But the soundtracks (both the first release in ’97 and then the ’00 release) don’t have the same bass for the track, so it sounds real quiet. The DVD has an isolated score on it, but there’s also a part in the music where it drops right down for SFX (as most isolated scores on DVD will do that for dialog/sfx). So it’s quite impossible to find the perfect version of TND.
I think all the extended releases I’ve found don’t really have the same bass as the movie version.

Sador: First of all, love the avatar. Dalton is my favourite Bond. I adore him as Bond. For me, he nailed it and set the way for Craig to continue in that dark vein.

To say my thread is the best Bond music thread on the web makes me very happy indeed. I cant take credit for mixing/making the scores, but I am so happy everyone is enjoying them. I have a burning passion for Bond music, and I too was raised on the movies and music. In fact, John Barry got me into listening to film scores in the first place. I owe my love of score music to him.

I wont be able to have all four of those upped in a week but you can tell your brother that expanded (not necessarily complete) versions of them will be coming in due course.

Not a brillant Bond Film and not a Bad Bond film, as Roger Moore was well pass playing a decent Bond, But it does feature some decent tunes and this includes the main theme by Duran Duran, as it is better than main theme songs that have been with each film since the series was relaunched back in 1995.

This started, now approaching, a 40 year total appreciation of the fabulous music composed for the James Bond films.

The expanded releases of a few years back were truly a gift from heaven and now this tremendous work you are doing is the icing on the cake.

The 2 Disc "Die Another Day" is a bootleg that has been on the web for over five years. Some have claimed that Arnold himself leaked it after being upset with the original album presentation, but that is merely conjecture.

Just downloaded Moonraker. Great work at removing the SFX and talking.
I do edits myself and am wondering how you’re going about your editing process.

I’m guessing like me you rip the audio from the DVD in 6 channel, then you take the best parts of the audio and do your editing with some filters (noise reduction, perhaps) and EQ.

Anyway, from an audio-editing hobbyist to another, just wondering what you do 😉

Finally – there we are.
Some 20 years later we’ve GOT it.
Kamen in his prime – a fantastic score that – because of one of the worst edited Bond albums ever – sadly got neglected for decades.
Reminds me of how, someday, everything comes full circle.

oh i also forgot to say, i worked on goldeneye in 1994 in the 007 studio when they where filming down the m1, i was actually working on braveheart & rob roy at the time but was a week out of work so they put me on the set, sorry dont know what it was supposed to be as the plasterers had not come in to finish it but i have some pictures somewhere

Yea Thunderball surprised me I got the updated one that came out awhile back and thought WOW this may now be one of my favorite ones with the added music. Shows how sorely the score was treated on LP.
Actually Im looking forward too Spy Who Loved Me , and the Pyramid music without that horrible Eastern Lights music in the middle of it , who the Hell’s idea was that to put it in the middle of some of the best music on that disc.

I know one piece for sure that will be on there is the cue played on the plane as Bond is being spied on in the bathroom. Im sure there will be others too.

Takehiro- I should probably mention that there’s an easily findable track that is missing from your OHMSS score that you might want to add to it. I normally wouldn’t have mentioned it, but the score you posted actually contains two shortened versions of it: track 13 and 14 on Disk two are a radio edit and orchapella version of a much longer (and I must say INCREDIBLE) track. The full, finished piece can be found on the Propellerheads album ‘Decksandrumsandrockandroll’ and is imaginatively titled ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.’ It goes for a blissful 9:23, as opposed to the 3:26 and 5:37 of tracks 13 and 14 respectively.

And be warned, it is insanely addictive, in much the same way as Grantby’s ‘Timber’ is an incredibly addictive rework of Diamonds Are Forever’s ‘007 and Counting’.

As keen ears will have noticed, From Russia with Love’s main title is different on film than on CD. The film version has never had a release. As with TWINE, the main title song is a completely different mix (more orchestra and different editing and mixing). This unreleased track (like FRWL) is gonna be on the expanded album I will be upping.

Oh and plus, it looks like its gonna be a 2CD job 😀

I don’t know if .cue files will work for mp3, they might/should.
But generally, if you have the .cue file created from the same rip, you’ll have an easier time burning to CD.

It’s unfortunate to see, though, that Goldeneye still appears to be missing a bit. Particularly saddening is the fact that my favorite piece that was omitted from the commercial release is still absent here: the brief interlude of the Bond Theme when he first arrives in St. Petersburg and is walking out of the airport. It can’t be more than ten seconds long, but they’re ten of the best seconds of the entire score in my opinion. However what was added is great, and the sound quality, particularly for the title song, is stunning. It would have been cool if the demo version that Bono recorded singing it himself was included as well, but I already have that so it’s no big deal. Though I do greatly, greatly appreciate that both versions of the tank chase were included. I bought the Bond Back in Action Volume 2 album years ago because it had the film version on there, but now for some reason that song, just that song, which was the only thing I bought the cd for, refuses to import into my computer correctly. So big thanks for that.

Up next on my to-listen list is Tomorrow Never Dies, which is my favorite of all the Bond scores. I’m eager to see if this version will be worth replacing what I already have.

I’m really looking forward to listen to the complete TWINE-score. I love David Arnold’s 007-work and although it will never be a match to any of John Barry’s 007-work, I’m glad that he is doing the job nowadays. I believe Arnold’s work on TND is still his best, with TWINE as a runner up. Arnold uses the James Bond theme in the scores in the same way as Barry did and I think that is the key of succes in the Bond scores. Never change a winning formula. Afterwards it was very difficult to match the excellent TND-score and therefore TWINE was an very good continuation. I was very dissapointed in DAD, because it wasn’t an improvement or even a match of TWINE and I had a bad feeling on what he will do on CR. Maybe Arnold felt this also and the way he has done CR and QOS, both very good and fresh, you can feel he has still some span in exploring the 007-music. Hopefully his work on Bond 23 will be again a new, fresh direction.

John Barry is alive and well – its his birthday today and Im gonna celebrate it by playing his music ALL DAY 😀 But naturally, its fair to say DA isnt gonna live up to an older, more experienced composer – not at this time in his life, anyway. Maybe DA will end up being the next John Barry but its doubtful. Besides, one JB is all we need in the world, right? Thats what makes him special.

I dont hate DA, I just dont think hes as good.

I say be thankful for what you get – I am doing my best to scour the earth and provide you with the most complete versions of these I find.

And this goes for everyone – if you want to know if a certain cue is on, ask here or PM me before you download. I’ll help where I can.

I always thought that the Soundtrack is ment to enhance the film and anyone listerning to the music and have seen the film will remember which bit goes where and maybe bring a smile.

I agree with that except I find Casino Royale and Tomorrow Never Dies to be the pinnacle of his music thus far. He really nailed the Bond sound and is the only other composer in the entire series to even come close to Barry. Hamlisch and Kamen weren’t too memorable, imo. I personally like Arnold more than Barry but I’m a sucker for how David can write a visceral sound with the brass, vigorous string runs and driving percussion. African Rundown is a great example ;). John Barry top that!

John Barry: 007, Girl Trouble, Spectre Island, Golden Girl, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, OHMSS, We Have All The Time In The World, Diamonds Are Forever, Moonraker, The Sniper Was A Woman…last but not least: HIS arrangment of the JAMES BOND THEME.

Point taken! I’m not saying that John Barry isn’t good. I just think that Arnold took what John did and took it further. I found the older scores to lack the big and lush orchestral sound of Arnold (look at his orchestral arrangement of OHMSS Orchapella Ver.), but really the credit should go to Nicolas Dodd, Arnold’s orchestrator. I guess I’m more into the contemporary style of DA. Barry did set the precedent and I will definitely agree with that DA wouldn’t be where he is without JB.

I did say a few songs were missing, my suggestion is to keep the original OST rar file, and upload the missing cues in another RAR… that way, whoever’s actually downloaded TWINE from you won’t have to do it again.
PS. The Gunbarrel of TWINE has a very odd volume change and crackle… if u know what i mean, if u listen closely, it’s like the Gunbarrel from TND has been mixed over it…

as i type this message, im just sitting watching casino royale with peter sellers & david niven, god i forgot how bad a movie this is but the soundtrack has some good tracks on it, though not to many, the tv must be bad if their putting this junk on, but it has made me think that i’ll dig out the soundtrack & give it i listen to again after about 10 years,Burt Bacharach did have one or two good tracks on it if my memory serves me well.

Funny…I got so bored with Casino Royale (2006) I had to leave the theater during the Texas Hold ’em-scene, to pea. Never had the same problem with the 1967 film or score though 😀

No guys, u’ll are wrong, worst official Bond movie was OHMSS… Lazenby really screwed up on it… he couldn’t even climb up the machine’s cogs without any difficulty… and he didn’t drive the car during the chase thru the snow and the racetrack, his girlfriend did. Which was pathetic.

OHMSS is my all time fav Bond, and the OSt is heaven..JB finest hour…I agree Lazenby is underrated (imagine what he would be like if he stayed on)

I agree it’s not as complete but some files in the 2009 ed are bigger= not as compressed, and therefor one can combine it with yours (if you want) to get the best possible sound experience. I’m not trying to step on your toes, just trying to help out 😀

I only grabbed Moonraker and there is a 17 min suite. What is the source of this suite, and do you know if there are similar suites in the others soundtracks too?

Also thanks for The Living Daylights! Those extra cues are great, particularly Pushkin’s Room. It’s also nice to have all those versions of the theme song. It’s one of my favorites.

The movie itself was dissapointly only 1h46m long, which is very non-007, besides the first three films in the franchise. And if you than add the source music in Puerto Rico and the whole Tosca opera sequence, you have approximately an additional 15m of music … The missing cues would then be not that much, I believe ‘the Shootout when Bond and Greene are leaving the opera’ is the longest among other more smaller cues…

It was 2.5 hours because i watched it yesterday on Tv with the breaks. OK, QoS is so short? And not many cues are missing?

I’m no compressing-expert but to me it seems illogical that doubley compressing a file should result in MORE MB-size wise since the whole concept of compressing is to make a file smaller and compact (as in Compact Disc and so on). Your rips sounded fine to me, but could you please explain a little further about your theory here or in a mail?

Meaning, those supposedly 320kb/s files could easily be ripped from a CD that was burned from 128kbp/s MP3s. An MP3 encoder doesnt "know" whether a source file is lossy or not, it just treats it as a full-size file that it compresses. So if you download some MP3s at 128k, burn them to CD, then rip that CD to 320k, the MP3 encoder will be giving all those KB to recreate the signal but they will be wasted, as the source material is a lower-bitrate originally.

And re-encoding a 128k file to a 320k file doesnt make it sound better 🙂 Once the frequencies are lost due to compression, you cant bring them back.

Dalton set the ball rolling, the world just wasnt ready for it yet (surprisingly). Now people are lapping up the "gritty Bond" feel. Dalton should always be honored for setting the standard for that. I tell people every chance I get whenever I hear them praising Craig for being so dark!

I’m pretty sure it was the b-side for all issues of the single. I don’t know of anywhere else that it has been released.

For me there’s a difference in watching the film with score because when you do there are sometimes pauses of either silence or the characters talking/walking/doing something else. When you listen to an album with the soundtrack the music have to stand on its own without the images. You maybe experince this differently but for me listening to only the music there’s another need for variety in sound and intensity from track to track to keep the flow up and not exhaust my ears. That’s ’cause I have a slight hearing disorder. Maybe it’s a character difference as well?

As for Spy Who Loved Me, it may well be next. I hear some of the music is hard to track down.

Well, not THE worse, but almost. I have to say that the main title score from "Tomorrow never dies", which was thrown in at the LAST minute, in a special deal, apart from the composer, and without his knowledge, had to have been the worse one out there. The ORIGINAL main theme song, which was performed by K.D. Lang, is one of my favorites. Don’t get me wrong, I like Sheryl Crow, and I think she is a fine singer, but K.D. Lang’s voice, as displayed on this song is SOOOO much more dynamic, and the song is one of those that kicks around in your brain all day. The song was retitled "Surrender" and it is used for the end titles. Check it out. I had a special version of this film produced on DVD with the original main theme put back in, which is about 25-30 seconds longer than the Sheryl Crow song, so special footage had to be put in, or the song had to be edited, and THAT I would NOT allow! It’s great!

Somewhat along these same lines, have you heard the Shirley Bassey/David Arnold song "No Good About Goodbye"? It wasn’t written expressly for "Quantum of Solace," but it makes for a pretty good replacement title song for that movie nonetheless.

Either way, it’s pretty good stuff. Not as good as "Surrender," but definitely better than the White/Keys song (which has a few decent sections but is mostly pretty poor, in my opinion).

You should use "JDownloader". It works well with free links. And Premium. But also Free.
I sometimes get that for free links, but with JDownloader, I can just leave it sitting there overnight and hopefully the expiration will be done with by the time it downloads.
With JDownloader, you’ll never have to worry about Captcha Recognition (for RS/MU/NL/DepositF/ZShare/Direct HTTP; for HF/FSonic/FServe/Duckload you’ll need to input the Captcha) or monitoring the download. Just add the links, start the downloads and walk away!

MU does have issues on its own however. You might have to wait a day or two for that expiration to void itself. I waited an entire week in some cases.
It just takes patience.

I use JDownloader all the time, it’ll auto-extract WinRAR archives (need to attach password to container properties if one exists).
For files that are split with HJSplit or whatever people use, it’ll merge the split files (file.001, file.002, etc) into one file.
It does CRC checks as well to let you know if it turned out okay.
It aborts on extraction errors, you’ll have to check the log to see what went wrong.
It also checks to see if the files are online when you input the links.
Works particularly well for people who give Multiupload links, as it’ll check all mirrors it has been uploaded to.

He scored 11 out of 22 James Bond movies. I’d say he got all the credits he (rightfully) deserved and then some. Not only creating a music style for Bond but also to an whole worldwide generation of spy movies during the sixties and following decades. After Ian Fleming, and the actors that portrayed Bond on the screen, he and Albert Brocolli must have been the most recognized names that a person knows from the James Bond universe.

As for the James Bond theme, I think we all know who was the really responsible of it, despite of what the court has decided. For granted that Norman is the autor of the song that has one from the two main phrases of the James Bond theme, but the orchestrations are Barry through and through. If Barry wouldn’t be involved, I doubt the theme would last to today and be so popular as it is.

Hgo. Take already uploaded A View to a Kill. From what I know what he’s uploaded is all he has. He doesn’t have complete scores to all the films. Just expanded scores. But man I want that sequence as well. To have the complete version of Snow Job would rock.

The great maestro John Barry has died and with that may be re-releases and new releases to the movies he worked on. So we can only hope for that.

Honestly your best bet might be to just get a month account with FileSonic. Seeing as it’s being used as the host for a lot of soundtracks now a days anyways. You’ll get pretty good download speeds and unlimited downloads. There’s also no waiting time either. You can have it set to direct download too. So once you click the link it just goes right to downloading rather than having to go through there home page. I had an account with filesonic, but it just recently expired.

All I can tell you is that I downloaded it with no problems at all. I use Explorer, so it might be worth your time to try that instead of Firefox. Beyond that, I’ve got no advice for you. Sorry!

Yes. For whatever reason. Firefox doesn’t work with Filesonic. I don’t know why, but from my experience this rings true. I get to the downloading part and the download always just glitches and downloads the link to filesonic rather than the file, but on Internet Explorer it works just fine.

lol i replied to the first thraed you brouth this up in. if firefox has add-ons like ad-blocker, ghostery, or anything else that blocks unwanted junk, it might be preventing you from seeing the input box. or it could be if you have any "download’ tools or accelarators installed.
run firefox in safe-mode to disable all add-ons.

I don’t know if this is the problem source but I switched to Firefox after some troubles with fake viruses. Then I installed Ad Block Plus. I tried donwloading from Explorer again but it’s the same story over there. I tried the safemode bit but I didn’t work and I didn’t get a message "continue in safe mode". I even installed JK downloader but it didn’t work either. Why have must everything end up on fileserve these days?! I can’t take this anymore! 🙁

Which is the font you used for "Original Expanded Score Composed etc etc"?
This cover for TND u made is actually the official one for the Definitive Collection of Original Bond OST’s if u don’t know… it looks good, but Tak’s TND cover looks fab. U could make TWINE and GE. =D

I do hope the Batman/Inception complete scores are on that Zimmer list, u’ve earned my trust over the quality of music. So i can wait for the Zimmer/remaining Bond scores.

I was finally able to scrape up enough money to get the glorious 160gb iPod I’d been lusting over, and thus have now had a chance to listen to all of these. What can I say that hasn’t already been said? Fantasticness! I must say my favorite parts of these have to be the instrumental versions of the title songs (though I was heartbroken to see that my favorite one, View to a Kill, did not have one). Also, where did those David Arnold pieces on OHMSS come from? Is this another album I have to track down?

I absolutely cannot wait for Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice! And now you’re talking about expanded Zimmer stuff? Oh man. I have to ask, is there any chance of the Pirates of the Caribbean scores being included in that lot? If so you will rock my socks off even harder.

First of all thanks a lot for your expanded Bond scores. I really appreciate your effort and your willingness to share them. I noticed though that in many of your expanded Bond OST’s there are still many pieces missing which do appear in the movies. For instance, in A View to a Kill, Goldeneye, The World is not enough, For your Eyes only…my question is if you still have these missing cues somewhere or not. I guess everybody would be more than excited to hear the missing music on these great works.
