let’s be honest here: this whole VS business has become extremely ridiculous. First, and foremost, other sites upload and post vs releases and everything seems fine. Secondly, I just think it’s become a joke cause you guys are taking it so seriously removing links and all… When people pm the links, then what’s the point of removing the link to begin with. Seriously. Like, think about it logically, sooner or later, the link shall be found…and people would get hold of it.

It is against site rules to post any Varese or FSM. It is not a matter of choice. Links are not removed by us, but by admin. Varese issued a desist order to this site, and they have no choice but to comply. That’s just the deal.
So why doesn’t varese issue a desist order to the other sites? :S
They did to FranklyNot, which is not here anymore. Perhaps other sites like Paradox don’t care if they get shut down or not. Perhaps Varese is not aware of ’em. We had a member here claiming he was from Varese, who ratted the site out to them out of spite. I DO know Varese had an actual rep as a member at Frankly, who monitored the posts. As to other sites, many are private blogs, to help control the odds of ratting.

I don’t understand what you are urging ?. This is just the way it is. It’s like saying "If the police can’t solve all murders, why do they bother solving any ?".
I’m a huge fan of Brian Tyler!
Thanks in advance!
Like it a lot, I hope the movie is good. What I’d hate though is that the U.S. is the only country that beats them and they go all patriotic. No offense to americans, I just don’t like that.
Nevertheless, I like this score, gonna listen to it fully.
yes
Now, when I first browsed through this score I thought "This is a load of crap, it’s just recycled music from Transformers".
I was also annoyed that there didn’t appear to be any theme. Then I listened to it all the way through, and I would have to say my feelings towards it have changed. Whilst the score is a little too long, with too many filler cues for my taste that didn’t need to be on the album, it definitely grows on you.
There is absolutely a recurring theme, it just isn’t one that screams "I’m the main theme!" You have to work it out as the score progresses. I also made the reference to Transformers, and I will also now say this "Temp heavy? Yes, yet this score is still better than Transformers" Why? Because Tyler is far better an orchestrator than Jablonsky is, that’s why. It gets an overall recommendation from me.
Could you please PM the link.
Thanks
I have been waiting for a great Tyler Score ever since "Children of dune" which is my favorite Tyler score.
I can merely tell if I like something or not, me no music theory savvy.
I love this score too!
I can hear something of "Transformers 1" too (I agree with Captain Scarlett)
An epic one, for my taste the best since "children of dune".

If this is true it’s just one more reason for me to get it, since i love the TF scores. Also, maybe it’s due to the fact that Tyler is making the music for TF Prime. Here’s hoping… ๐
i think the trailer looks awesome especially the sad song
my friend wants to see skyline, i show him the trailer of battle:la.
immediately changed his mind
touche lol
Black Hawk Down being expected to work as a modern day blockbuster about an Alien invasion? Yeah right. Who are they trying to kid with their more "realistic" jargon here?
I’m amongst the crowd who are entirely glad Tyler didn’t go near that score. If the guitars had been anymore intrusive to this score like they were in Black Hawk Down, then I wouldn’t have even thought twice about buying this. Not on your life.
Me too, but only because I don’t think it would work in the LA setting. I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect for Battle:LA – I was just hoping that, whatever it was, it would be as good as Zimmer’s. BHD is one of the few Zimmer scores I really like!
Well to each his own. Fair enough, I mean I really liked Zimmer’s Inception, and I am quite the criticiser towards Zimmer’s style and the sort of Rock/Pop music he composes for film, with it all being dressed up to appear to the masses and untrained ear as traditionally orchestral film music of which I am a die hard admirer of and I can tell you, as many others here could as well "if Zimmer’s music is traditionally symphonic? Then I am Steve Jablonsky’s love child" There you have it. ๐

I just wanted to ask as well, what is up with the start of Track 2? Is that just due to the encode? Or is this on the actual album as well?
It doesn’t have a clean opening. It sounds like it’s either starting late or coming off the end of another track altogether. If it is a part of the actual album, then I would like to think a fix could be made. I’ve already had to make an edit to smoothen it myself as it is a nuisance. That cue being my favourite on the album certainly hasn’t helped matters either.

mcg1980 & McDermott,

I’m over 6 posts, and where is my PM system?
watch out, I will send you pm as soon as possible. Might not hurt to add another post though (it is 5-10 posts as far as I know?), just to be on the safe side… the system sometimes takes a little time until it notices you have the necessary amount of pms.
….anyway, top of the page, left side, underneath ffshrine you can read: Forum. Underneath that, you see buttons from left to right: new posts and then: private messages.
[you have them enabled in your settings, haven’t you?]

It now appears to be enabled. There must be a time-lag after you get to 6…
THe same applies to you regarding PM’s….
Read back through this thread… you need at least 6 posts to enable the PM facility.
