Coming to America Complete Score (Minor Sfx)

Well folks, did some DVD audio rips. I ripped the tracks in multi-track form as they are on the DVD and messed around and this turned out amazing. All in 320 Stereo, great quality. Some tracks have minor sfx, but nothing that interrupts the music.

Are the tracks in stereo or Mono? I only ask because some of your previous DVD rips were mono only.

These are all stereo man haha. The James Bond stuff weren’t rips, they were recordings, these are all stereo.

The Bond stuff I’m redoing as DVD rips sometime soon so they’ll be in high quality stereo like these are.

Well, I have to say, YoYoBoy, that I am IMPRESSED! The music was recorded nicely, crisp and clean, and the SFX were kept low and in the background, and there are not that many that are noticable! All in all, a very good piece of work, I would recomend anyone who liked the movie to download this version of the score. Thanks for putting it up here for all to share!

A couple of tidbits about this movie. The opening theme was "borrowed" from "The lion sleeps tonight", and YES, you can actually sing along with it! It’s a kinder and gentler version than what was recorded in the 1960’s, but the music is the same. The composer did NOT sue for violating his rights, however, a very well known screenwriter DID sue Paramount for stealing his script! He had written a script called "King for a day", wherein a European prince comes to America to seek his bride, not wanting an arranged marriage by his parents. This script was passed around for over 10 years before Murphy productions started working on this film.
The case came to trial, and the screenwriters attornies got a court order for Paramount to turn over their books and financial records for the total earnings of that movie, first and only time that has ever been done in Hollywood. The screenwriter got a judgement of several million dollars, which was appealed and reduced, several times, and I never heard of the final outcome. It’s like trying to sue an insurance company, you just cannot win!

Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about this version, as I can say about YOYO’s version above! this version is a total DVD rip, mostly in MONO, and some very noticible SFX in the music. quick cutoffs at the end of the music, and low music quality and volume. End credits and several other tracks are back channels only, in mono and very "echoy", sounding like the whole orchestra is on the other side of the recording studio, about 1000 feet away from the mike! Sorry, La Nostra, don’t know if this was your rip or if you just found it, but had to give a review for the good people here!

Yea, and winrar itself is free. After a month it’ll ask you to buy it, but you just hit the cancel button each time and it allows you to continue using it’s features.

Not that I’m against purchasing a product like that, but I don’t personally own a computer, and I only use something like that once every year/year and-a-half. No justification for purchase there.

I’ll get this rip tomorrow and comment on it later.

The sound quality of the rip was excellent. Sometimes I’ve gotten dVD rips of purely isolated scores, which have a whine in the back, but this was clean.

A small amount of cues where so clean of SFX that it’s for all intents, just music — like the opening title.

Well worth it.

I think I could improve it ever so slightly, by removing tiny FX (where possible) in a couple tracks (very careful editing at a magnified level), and raising the volume in one track where it dropped down for the film mixed — at least it sounded like it did, I’ll need to re-check.

Any enhancements are more than welcomed man. I did all I could with it, but I wish I could have done more. Wish I could have gotten the King’s Motorcade a little cleaner.

I have completely misplaced my copy. Can anybody put up two certain tracks? I don’t need the rest (one day it’ll either be located from whatever foul depths it has vanished to, or some label will release it — I’ll wait until then). — I’m just making a nexercise compilation CD-R.

I’m needing the limo driving music and the end credits score — you know, the wild percussion tracks. If somebody could put those up in the full quality, and not zipped up or something, that would be great.

I found the bastard hiding in a small stack of empty CD-R paper slips. WTF it was doing there, I’ll never know. I am happy to report it is now a beautiful day in Zamunda!
