Yes there are still new radio broadcasts produced although it’s down to just a trickle from the Golden Era of Radio (1930-1962).
With the mass introduction to television in the 1950’s radio shows began to die out and it wasn’t until 1974 that long time creator and producer Himan Brown, (Dick Tracy,Flash Gordon,Inner Sanctum among others) revived the old radio dramas with the exceptional CBS Radio Mystery Theater did the public become reacquainted with this medium.
The CBS Radio Mystery Theater ran on local CBS affiliates across the United States from 1974-1982 with a total of 1,399 episodes broadcast over that time.
My first show I will be posting is the first CBS Radio Mystery Theater from January 6,1974 "The Old Ones Are Hard To Kill" starring Agnes Moorehead in one of her last appearances in any medium.
There were so many great shows broadcast over the years from comedy to suspense to adventure and all points in between with various genres.
It will be my attempt to cover them all within this thread, I am open to requests and suggestions and active participants are encouraged to contribute as well if the would like.
So close your eyes, find a comfy chair, shut out the outside world for a moment, and be transported to another time and place.

Love the Lux Radio Theater, too. I have several of those, myself. DeMille was such a perfect choice as host – his voice fit the medium like a glove.
I’m jazzed about this thread! This is gonna be fun!
I just saw that Radio Archives put out a box set containing the NPR Doc Savage stories from the mid-80s. Definitely gonna buy that one, as the bootlegs have wonky quality.

Oh, Night Beat is terrific. Here are my playlists (95% snagged from Archive.org and Static of the Mind). These are all worth checking out. My goal was to download enough that I would have 52 weeks worth of nightly radio. Not quite there yet, as I like to download as ‘the year’ goes on. I’ve had to replace some shows as some of my shows had short runs (and I prefer late 40s-early 50s radio). My original idea was to conform to real schedules as well, but that was too much work. Enjoy!

Um, well, from this thread, actually….uh….none of them….but I’d been meaning to! *blushing intensely*
No rush, my friend, no rush. Whenever you can, however much you’re willing to do, even just onesies & twosies.
But, if you don’t want to, it’s OK. I’ll understand.
Airing in stereo, Earplay provided a showcase for original and adapted work. Eventually, the less-sustained successor series NPR Playhouse drew episodes from the Earplay run. Often presented by NPR member stations on a weekly basis, Earplay episodes were produced with much attention to recording technique and sound-effects.
In 1975, it scored a triumph with Listening, an original play written by Edward Albee for stereo radio, employing one speaker for one character and another speaker for another character. Since both characters are seated in a room, the illusion is created that they are in the same room as the listener. After its premiere on radio, Listening was later performed on stage.
Along with the CBS Radio Mystery Theater, Sears Radio Theater, The General Mills Radio Adventure Theater, Christian radio’s Unshackled and public radio’s The National Radio Theater of Chicago, Earplay was among the most ambitious nationwide projects in the medium in the U.S. during the 1970s and 1980s.
