Man…DC…this game (And it’s music) is going to be VERY epic and Kick-Ass! SERIOUSLY!! Sorry for the Bump, but, I have made a Mini review for your Dragon’s Crown Preview. Have a look see, won’t you? xD

Originally, Vanillaware, was going to release Dragon’s Crown Spring 2012, but, unforchantly, it didn’t make it in time…but that’s when Atlus saves the day! 😀
With that being said, it is now set for a 2013 release.
It is not known whether or not there will be an Official Soundtrack release for it, but, one thing can be certain is the fact that the Preview Kai/SHMUPER put up, gives us a little glimpse as to what comes our way. 😉
So, without further Ado, here is my Dragon’s Crown Preview review.

Now, when it comes to Vanillaware games, there are three things, IMHO, that stick out: 1.) Gameplay 2.) Art-Style and 3.) Music
I’m only going to talk about #3. Basiscape, Hitoshi Sakimoto’s company, ALWAYS does music for Vanillaware games. IMHO, Basiscape does their best work on Vanillaware games. So, you can expect something really great coming from them. 😉
But, let’s get on with the good stuff, shall we? 😉

1.) Official Trailer BGM

This song starts off with a bang! With Percussion and Drums all over the place. Kind of reminiscent to Vagrant Story, in a way.
The song really starts kicking in when you first hear a String lead. That is where you begin to hear the first part of the Main Theme and that is where the Haunting Melodies, begin.
There is a Strong sense of conflict going on within this song and it does a great job conveying the feeling of Danger.
To put it simply: There is alot of excitement and Adventure going on in this song. And it’s easy to tell that Sakimoto has done this song. Why? Because it has his signature style written ALL OVER it. 😉

2.) Website BGM

While not as good as the Trailer BGM, IMHO, it’s still an entertaining listen.
It starts off with a Brooding Horns. After words, it sounds kind of…dare I say it?
Mystical. Why? Mainly because of the Flute, Choir and Harp usage. It’s a really good combination, to say the very least.
Joy will melt into your ears as parts of the Main Theme just flutter all around the place.

All-In-all, the Dragon’s Crown Preview gives us a very good expectation as to what will come upon us.
Man!! What a composer Sakimoto is! Interesting Instrumentation and great quality, overall!
Sakimoto really knows what he’s doing with an Orchestra. Which is why he is my favorite composer of all time.
Based on what I’m hearing so far from Dragon’s Crown, it seems to be fresh and Original.
But, who knows? It might start off great, but, it might just go to hell and past…I really hope not.
let us hope that Basiscape releases an Official Soundtrack, after the game gets released, of course.

Hi, your TGM2 rip got the music emulation problem occurring on this game.
The long rhythm sequences are played faster than the other instruments. So the beat got a gap before it loops and overall the music is all messed up.

Mmm mmm mmmmm. Caladrius OST is looking very tasty, SHMUPer! Knowing that you’re a Basiscape fan, like me, you must be jumping for joy, amirite? xD LOL ;P
I’m expecting Caladrius to meet my expections..or…at least be nothing short of brilliant!! 😀
