Wrong. Last year, the sessions for Steve Jablonsky’s "Your Highness" leaked before the film even opened, and even Marco Beltrami’s "The Thing" sessions were floating around MONTHS before the film opened in October. But still, this is pretty nice

I’m not in the "Raimi and Maguire Suck" fanclub or anything, and I did like the first three films, but for me Andrew Garfield’s Peter rang much truer to the comics than Maguire’s did.

Ironically enough, I do prefer the score to Raimi’s films. Horner sounds like he was trying to put an ‘Avatar’ spin on it rather than create something new. It’s not terrible by any stretch of the imagination, but knowing that he did Avatar, he could have done better. Maybe he just didn’t have the time though.

It’s not up to Maguire or Garfield, I think. Script was based on different comic, so therefore Peter was different.

"Ratha" I’m assuming is something in the film, but I’ve not been able to see it yet.

"rev" stands for Revised, which yes, is an alternate version. In the case of the main title, it means some parts were edited out, some extended, and a slightly different mixing.

The only thing I know for sure is that the shorter track 2: "1m1R Main Title Rev" is the version heard in the film, which frankly sucks because it completely removes the triumphant main theme’s performance which was the best of the whole score.

It is lower in volume compared to the album yes, but don’t compare the volume to TDKR, because like all of Zimmer’s albums nowadays, TDKR is completely compressed in dynamic range and boosted to clipping levels the way a rock / rap album would be. Listen to the sessions of TDK versus the album for TDK, and it’s the same thing – the album is boosted to crap levels while the sessions represent the original volume with nice range and no clipping.

In terms of the whole lossless issue with a score like this, if people (like myself) are hoping for a lossless version it’s not because the audio quality is poor, it’s because we just want to preserve it in the best possible format. The kind of format you can play on expensive audio systems and not mp3 players with computer speakers. That’s my take anyway.

I think everyone should be aware when putting this on their iPods or other portable devices, that the cover art embedded in every track is over 1 MB in size all by itself as it’s a PNG file.

They should replace it with something smaller if they want to save space on their devices.

I’ve been suspecting this for a while now. So the full-size image is embedded into every track? That’s annoying.

Is your FLAC just a lossless version of Scoreprano’s original 192k?

There’s only really one cue missing from the sessions, called "High School Hijinks". It was never used in the film and the only proof that it might have been recorded was that you can see the sheet music in the behind-the-scenes portion of the Blu-ray release. I myself uploaded it to YouTube:
