I’m still searching the net for anyone who has this baby. I tried contacting La La Land to do a release for it, but no response so far. So please, if you have any leads, do share!!!!! 😀
It is the perfect one from Ang Lee. Great writing, fantastic play, intelligent cut, much better than this strange film starring Edward Norton.
"Dislike"
This film was horrible, a total piece of crap. But to each his own, I guess
That’s more like it
I play Elfman’s score WAY more often than I do the movie. This score is highly and sadly underrated IMHO. And I absolutely LOVE the Norton version of The Hulk, it’s fantastic! Armstrong’s score is great too. But i would still love to have more of Elfman’s. Just as with the films, I respect and enjoy the vast differences between the 2 scores.

i love the hulk character, but one thing i do remember about hating this particular film is the way it was presented, that box type/comic book screens folding is just annoying and unnecessary. it was rather boring for the most part. i prefer the more recent solo Hulk over this one and the score of Craig Armstrong too over Elfman’s score here.
this definitely has me interested, and i would like to hear this
1: skipped over the origin story. We see sections of Banner in the chair etc in the credits, then it is straight into the movie. And we see (or don’t see) Hulk sooner because of this. The factory scene in the dark was superb.
2: We gat a truly satisfying conclusion. Hulk Smash indeed, which is what everyone wants, to see Hulk smash the crap outta someone, and Abomination was a great choice.
Other pluses…lots of tributes to the TV series, including the Lonely Man theme. A glimpse of what Captain America will be like via the Super Soldier serum. I like the fact that Hulk gets tired of fighting. The scenes when he thinks things are done, starts to relax, and then has to start up again. The sigh and shrug are a nice touch. The implication at the end that Banner is actually learning to control and trigger the change voluntarily, all good for me.
The earlier Hulk doesn’t have these. It takes a long time to get through the origin and into action. All this crap about dna experimentation by Banner’s dad…just boring. I get the idea. To make this a serious film, by trying to explain why radiation made him into the Hulk instead of killing him. But for me, these attempts to rationalize the origins are just besides the point. The 60’s were a time of fear and wonder with the nuclear thing taking shape, new elements being discovered, space trvel in it’s infancy. These classic Marvel characters were born into that time, and personally, I think we should just go with it. Cap is already viable…a genetic experiment. X-Men are mutants. Easy enough. But high scholl student bitten by radioactive spider= death, not spider powers. Crew of four in capsule irradiated= death, not superpowers. CERTAINLY not 4 different mutations…scientist shields student from a gamma bomb with his own body=death. For both. Not Hulk for one and normality for the other. So why explain, and twist and turn to make it plausibble. Just go with it.
For example. Purple peacekeeping alien with the ultimate weapon crashes on earth. Sends ring out to find the BEST POSSIBLE candidate, and returns with hal. C’mon. Out of the BILLIONS on this planet? But, they just went with it. Space baby lands on farm, super being raised by the fairest, most conservative, level headed patriotic wise souls to ever grace the earth. Said super being, even in the midst of puberty never ever once does ANYTHING a normal teen does..yea. But they go with it. Amazon Goddess molded out of living clay? Cool. Scientist struck by combination of strange chemicals and lightning? Go with it. Etc.
The earlier Hulk is more of a horror story though, a plain to see Jekyll/Hyde thing. And Hulk is bigger and just seems stronger. I dig the plane into the atmosphere scene. But there is no real resolution. We don’t really see the drag down fight we all know we want. That was the problem with Superman Returns. We NEED to see Supes hit someone really hard at some point in the story….

That’s 35 cues, which won’t match up to the 34 track one….without actual titles on the album, how will one know where to put the titles?
Annyway is there any chance of getting this score as it is?
Cheers
Col
Like, good thing is just the score then, and not the film!!!!
