I’ll leave it to others to analyze these tracks. Create mirrors. Edit the silence at the end of tracks. Compare this to the album. What was rehashed in from the first film.
But Enjoy. Hopefully someday someone will share a true lossless version and for Indy 4 sessions.

Please mirror. I am unable to grab as "the dl limit has been reached"
But thank you for sharing this. ๐
And will continue to do so. Upping to MF in a split archive now limits the number of dl’s allowed. So the only way to get it is if he uses a different site. Or ups it as separate archives, and not split ones. **sigh**

thanks Amanda your the best
No word that anyone has III unfortunately. I found the Chamber sessions not that big of a deal after listening to it. Sort of redundant. Rehash from the first film. On to the next leak of sessions.
Come on, Azkaban sessions. Come on, Azkaban sessions! ๐

No one ever said it was complete, just that it is the sessions. Missing material might well be tracked in cues, or other editorial decisions.

Could anyone post a tracklist? And without wanting to sound rude to DakoftheOta, I didn’t look for that particular score…
Not sure why you’d even care since this is a Williams score, and you made your feelings about his music in general, and the Potter scores in particular, quite clear.

CD 2 : 1:12:25

2-29 10m4X Dobby.
You can find them clean on the ost cd
Many many tanks.
Now….. PRISONER OF AZKABAN…..
That title was tracked. No new music.
1m6 (MARKED AS **OMIT**)
2m7 (MARKED AS **OMIT** MANDRAKES)
2m9 Howler Letter For Ron
5M3 (MARKED AS **OMITED**)
6M1 (MARKED AS **OMIT**)
6M3 (MARKED AS **OMIT**-HOSPITAL WING)
6m4a Entering the Diary
8M1 (MARKED AS **OMIT** LOCKHART’S WAND)
8m2a The Chamber Opens
8m2c Entering the Chamber
8m4 Basilisk Confronts Harry
8m6 Demise of Tom Riddle
Now the actusl MISSING cues are as follows:
1m5B Unsent Letters/Cake Ending
1m9 INSERT Errol Delivers The Mail (:05)
2M2 Insert
2m2A Train Station-Wild ("Wild" i’m assuming, means something along the lines of without picture or without a metronome or something)
2m8A Mail Delivery Insert
3m6 Insert – Transformation (Class Ending)
5M1/5M2 Harry Is A Parselmouth / Harry on the Mountain (1:02) (Additional Scene)
5m9 Polyjuice Intro
6M5 Ransacked Dormitory (:50) (Honestly, not sure why this is missing)
9m4 Alt. Ending V.S.
10M2X E.C. FROM HP 1 (5:00) (Harry’s Wondorous World, which the new version can be found on the OST)
So honesty it appears we are only missing a couple of ACTUAL cues, the rest are inserts or endings
Now on the sheet music for the film, it comes with summary sheets which say:
UNDERSCORE: 116:26
TRACK 13:10
TOTAL MUSIC TO BE RECORDED: 1:56:26 (65 Starts)
TOTAL MUSIC IN FILM: 2:09:36
Quote from "boosterrr"
"CD 1 : 1:01:37
CD 2 : 1:12:25
Total duration 2 hours 14 minutes en two seconds of a eargasm"
So how is it that there’s MORE music here than what was recorded? Something’s off.
EDIT: Nevermind, the summary sheets did not include the theme suites:
10M1X "The Chamber of Secrets"
10M2X "E.C. From HP 1"
10M3X "Dobby"
So that’s where the extra time comes in.
EDIT#2:

But… I don๏ฟฝt want to spoil the fun everyones having… but could someone provide the music as it was found? As I understood it this release here is a transcoded version, meaning it came from mp3 and was re-encoded again to mp3 – this obviously doesn๏ฟฝt help sound quality so I๏ฟฝd like to get my hands on the original lossy files if possible. Does someone have a link? Or is someone willing to put up the originals?

Do you know anything about HP III Recording Sessions ? ?
Thank you so much ! !
4m1 part I-IV and 7m4 => amazing
Hey, just to help you out a little (I’m assuming you’re doing a "complete score" edit)
If you want to fill in where the tracked cues are, you can start here:
2m9 "Howler Letter For Ron" Tracked from "2m11A Cornish Pixies"
8M2A "The Chamber Opens" Tracked from "6m4B Meeting Tom Riddle"
8M2C "Entering The Chamber" Tracked From "8m1 The Chess Board", "8m3 Checkmate", "8m4 The Face of Voldemort"
8M6 "Demise Of Tom Riddle" Tracked from "8m4 The Face of Voldemort"
Entering the Chamber has at least 2 or three more cues thrown into it as well, but I know for sure those three make up a part of it, I just haven’t gotten around to extensively searching for the other pieces yet.
Now all I need to find is Titanic and I’m set… ๐

I will only be re-presenting the existing material in my release. I’m not as knowledgable about the film edits and the tracked cues and since it’s not original music I’ll let someone else do that. It keeps the workers busy. ๐
I hope one day they release the scores in a format similar to the LotR Complete Recordings….
On first read of the title, I thought it was either: spam or someone who just labeled a dvd-rip "recording sessions"
If I would have the original lossy files used to create this version I would produce a deluxe edition… augmented with lossless tracks from the official CD and of course without volume jumps.
As if some hoarder is gonna share them in better quality just so you can make a lame fan edit of the score…
Thx Scorewizard!

WRONG! Before he edited the original post, Scorewizard actually said, "the only thing I did to these tracks was to raise the volume on most tracks." That’s tampering. I didn’t mind it, but that’s what it was. Anyway, I would hope that the next time you needlessly jump down someone’s throat like this, you at least know what you’re talking about… Also, if you had ever actually listened to Sonic’s edits, you would never call them lame!

"recording sessions" doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a complete score, right? cause it sounds like some cues are missing, notably, when harry enters the chamber of secrets. it should go after "myrtle’s tale" in the track listing, and i don’t see it anywhere on this version.

I believe someone already stated that piece was tracked from another part of the score.

IF a set is a full recording session, then no, it does not mean complete. As noted here, Harry entering the chamber is tracked in music from another part of the score. Now, was this scene meant to be unscored? Was there an early track that was deemed unusable? Who knows. If these are the whole recording sessions, then it is the music as written and originally recorded before any editing is done. Also before any final sound mixing is done. However, this appears to be an expanded score, edited from what has to have been the recording sessions. None of the alternate takes or inserts are here. So did whoever put this together somehow miss this cue. Or if not tracked, was it perhaps an alternate version of the cue that was used? Dunno.
Note also, that in some cases, like James Horner’s Troy recording sessions, the set is NOT even close to complete. Those sessions only contain multiple takes of a few pieces. They are ONE day’s sessions out of the whole score….

the music where Harry opens the Chamber is from Sorcerer’s Stone, I believe its called Three Note Motif from the Sorcerer’s Stone Recording Sessions
There can be a couple of DAT sessions tapes for a score IE: Star Wars Prequels. I say that because there can be cues missing IE: film version cues or inserts that could be missing because they were recorded a bit later or something.
This has happened with A LOT of sessions that have been posted on here.

Okay, i’ve already explained this once, but i’ll do it again for those just joining us, here’s the quote from the original post, and i’d want to pay attention because I have the original sheet music for the film, as well as the summary sheets, so i’m 100% sure this information is true. Also, listen to Amanda she knows what she’s talking about. Actually insteresting tidbit, they knew during the recording sessions that the tracked music was going to be tracked as the tracked cues are listed as part of the recording sessions summary sheet with the sheet music. There are also several cues that ended up getting omitted (but seemed to have existed at some point, just never recorded)
Now, let me once again address this post individually:
just to clear up something…
"recording sessions" doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a complete score, right? cause it sounds like some cues are missing, notably, when harry enters the chamber of secrets. it should go after "myrtle’s tale" in the track listing, and i don’t see it anywhere on this version.
No, recording sessions are not always complete, because in a series (or in any movie for that matter) music from other cues can be put other places as well. In the case of the cue you’re referring to, which if it’s right after Myrtle’s Tale then you’d be talking about "8M2A The Chamber Opens" which is tracked from "6m4B Meeting Tom Riddle" on this set from APPROXIMATELY 2:47 to 3:35 and then another cue makes up the ending. I’m still working on Identifying where each tracked cue is from, now if you’re talking about the whopping 5 minute cue which was entirely tracked, then that’d be when Harry enters alone into the actual chamber itself "8M2C Entering The Chmaber", which so far is a combination of "8m1 The Chess Board", "8m3 Checkmate", and "8m4 The Face of Voldemort", there’s other cues in there as well, which i’m still trying to figure out.
To be fair, the only cue that was actually used preventing this from being a Complete Score, that is Missing is "Ransacked Dormitory" the others, are inserts (which if i’m correct sound like they’ve been edited into their respective cues. For example, even though "Errol Delivers The Mail" isn’t on here, that cue itself is at the beginning of "1M9 Letters From Hogwart’s"
Since no one else seems to be interested in doing it, i’ll whip up the tracked cues, and post them so we don’t have people complaining that they’re missing (which technically they aren’t since they aren’t new recordings themselves).
Also, some other interesting tidbits about the score itself. Note that it says "Composed by John Williams" and "Adapted and Conducted by William Ross" for those of you who don’t know, ever wonder what the deal behind that was?
Well, here’s a VERY interesting, and insightful article that you guys should check out:
William Ross: Crafting the Music for Harry Potter – Mania.com (http://www.mania.com/william-ross-crafting-music-for-harry-potter_article_37027.html)
Hopefully I killed many birds with one stone today and answered some questions. If anyone has anymore questions or concerns with this or any of the other Potter scores, let me know…I’ve done my research on all of them.
Well, with the exception of Films 6 and 7 parts 1 and 2 of course. But stilll…
….
….
Oh Goodness, let’s stay on topic. XD If you get me on a rant about the Book to Film Adaptations of the Potter films it’ll overtake the thread. Some of the rants are good, but there’s a lot of bad rants I have….don’t even get me started on Order of the Phoenix. I mean seriously.
Back on topic, despite this score being extremely similar to the first score, I enjoyed it a lot, I really did. Chamber of Secrets is sort of my guilty pleasure of the Potter scores. As is, apparently Half-Blood Prince, because for some reason people weren’t big fans of it either. I, personally, loved the score for Half-Blood Prince, and am extremely interested in the recording sessions, but like everyone else…I want the Azkaban Sessions the most.
Now, to avoid further complaints of cues that actually aren’t missing, from THIS score, what are your top three favorite cues? For me personally it’s:
1. The Flying Car
2. Dueling the Basilisk
3. A Tie between "The Chamber of Secrets (Theme Suite)" and "Reunion of Friends"
Couldn’t agree more!
And the fact that his score was hurted becuase Hooper wrote it for the original 3 hours cut (there’s 45 minutes of deleted scenes
), and that a lot of his music was tracked for HBP, shows that his finished works are far more different than how they we’re originally.

Oh yeah! I knew about Hooper crazy amounts of writing XD I think that is awesome. I also have heard about the 3 hour version of Order of the Phoenix film (As to why the hell they didn’t release it, i’ll never know), but i’m not aware of his music being tracked for Half-Blood Prince? Do you mean that his music that was originally meant for a scene was unused and replaced with other cues that weren’t meant for the scene or what? The only bit of tracking for Half-Blood Prince i’m aware of was "Fireworks", "Dumbledore’s Army", and "Big Beat Repeat" (which technically wasn’t even Hooper, nor was it tracked, but everything else was it’s own cue. At least that’s what the cue listiing I have is telling me…
Also, in DH2, they tracked unused music from Part 1. When Harry, Ron and Hermione arrive in Hogsmeade, there’s a mix between a unused part of At The Burrow, and the use of Dumbledore’s theme was from the unused cue called Radio + Hermione.

Well, I wouldn’t exactly call that "a lot" of his music was tracked. That’s only two cues, which doesn’t conflict with my cue sheet. I’m less certain about the DH Part 2 Tracked stuff….Alexandre Desplat did score both parts and did reuse themes, couldn’t it just still be a new piece of music?

You are so damn aware of the score , that’s umbelievable.
I don’t think so. When the Gryffindor Sword dissapears, you can hear the same music from Hermione’s Parents, when Harry sees the sword in the frozen lake.
When the trio arrives to Hogsmeade, you can hear tremolo strings and descending cellos. That was an unused bit from At The Burrow, which is only in the demos and the sheets. And it’s tracked when Voldemort destroys the Hogwarts shield.
Also, when Voldemort sends a message to Hogwarts after the first part of the battle, you can hear a mix of the first seconds of Captured And Tortured from Part 1, and the Hedwig’s theme in the cue In The Chamber Of Secrets.
Or maybe all of this is original and it wasn’t included on the sheets and the CD. Maybe Desplat decided to rework some unused bits for Part 2, besides re-record these cues from COS.

At what point does the Gryffindor Sword disappear? I thought Griphook took it? It is possible though that that stuff was tracked…i’ll have to listen closer to Part 2, I think that’s the score i’ve spent the least amount of time studying.
And Hey! You’re on pianofiles too?! ๐ Sweet!

The sword disappears after Griphook is killed by Voldemort – that scene is actually in the film.
Ah okay there it is

I rewatched the film last night and heard a repeat of the Christmas Season music with the additional scenes. The additional scene has a tracked version from PS and the scene following that with Hermione giving Harry and Ron instructions concerning Crabbe and Goyle is the particular version heard in this recording set.
I honestly think that the missing cues are not a massive shame, but meh, we have most of the recording sessions which I am grateful for.
Zeeky, thanks for gathering all this great info, it’s very helpful. Since you kindly offered to answer other questions, I do have one for you. As much as I love the new music composed for Chamber of Secrets, I feel like it gets diluted a bit by some of the (newly recorded, not tracked) cues that are very closely based on Sorcerer’s Stone cues. I’d like to remove any CoS cues that are entirely based on music from Sorcerer’s Stone, since we are lucky enough to already have those sessions. However, it’s tricky to track down exactly which cues from HP1 are repeated in HP2, considering how sprawling the HP1 sessions are. So my question for you is – do you have a list, or do you happen to know exactly which HP2 cues I could remove from my own personal edit of the score, without losing any new material composed specifically for Chamber of Secrets?
Thanks again for all the info you’ve provided so far!

Hmmm, personally for me, i love the material reused from Sorcerer’s Stone because it’s actually still a bit different, and in some cases makes the cues more interesting, but if you want to remove the sorcerer’s stone rehashes then I suppose i can make a list for you that could do that.
thanks
Has this not been released in FLAC?
No it has not.
I have the recordings on CD. Bought them from that Ebay seller mentioned earlier.
I’d be happy to rip these in FLAC for you guys, but I don’t know how.
Some directions please and I’ll get to it ๐
Cheers,
Stefan
If you have iTunes, first change the import settings, bovenaan op bewerken klikken -> voorkeuren en dan bij algemeen op Importinstellingen klikken, dan komt er een nieuw schermpje waar je bij ”Importeren met:” kan veranderen in apple lossless-codering, doe dat.
Or you could try dbPoweramp + the FLAC codec, but I’m not going to make it harder for you than it might already be. ๐

Ok thanks….
I don’t have Itunes, so I’m going with the How to Exact Audio Copy.
Ripping the Cd’s now. Links coming up ๐
If it’s not it’s not my fault :cryingbatman:
Fingers Crossed….
(now it’s up to the experts to determine if this is true lossless).
Enjoy

So, could anyone tell if it’s true lossless, and if there is still this difference of 3 db on the left channel? Thx!

Yes!! That would be greatly appreciated!

I have both versions (64t and 35t) and they both contain the same content. The 35 track version seems to have the cues in parts i.e. The Quidditch match is presented in 3 separate cues, but edited together in one track and so on.
is it possible to re-upload the HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS Recording sessions
in their untampered Version (Original WAV file Converted into FLAC – (LOSSY SOURCE) – NO Volume Changes. Files As You Got Them)?
The download links in the original post unfortunately are dead as posted a long time ago.
Thank you so much for your help.
Kind regards, Klaus.

If not could anyone possibly reupload both? ๐

Here’s a re-up load of the files in Flac format (Thread 208352). It’s NOT lossless, just lossless format to preserve the lossy quality.
Is that then an edited version? Cause otherwise it wouldn’t make sense to convert it to FLAC, doesn’t give you better quality just needs more storage.
Further, I had the impression that there were two different RS here? one with the 64 tracks (that you’ve linked now in a FLAC version) and one with 35 tracks?
Anyone having the later? And the former in MP3 (if the FLAC is just a re-encode of that)?

It’s a re-upload of the same files shared in this thread. Those files were mp3 quality and were shared here upconverted to WAV to avoid quality loss.
I can’t say if there’s two different versions, I got into the HP movies and scores in the last month. But keep digging, you might find your answer ๐
Cheers.
btw: Me got into that recently as well… this is also why I’m just collecting all the stuff now ๐
