Can someone please post a link (or re-upload) the complete recordings for Lord of the Rings in 5.1 surround? Also, is it possible for someone to sample these ridiculously sized FLAC files down to DTS or AC3? Any 5.1 format would be most welcome, but only FLAC if there are no other possibilities. I would buy those DVDs but I’m not willing to spend 120 pounds for a load of discs I don’t want, I’m only interested in the surround versions.
The Shire scenes sound kind of hilarious in FotR including the party source (Flaming Red Hair, but then again I just love that song) in 5.1. As for the TT and RotK I always just used the 5.1 track dowmixed into stereo to listen to it, not because I didn’t have 5.1 but because I didn’t like the scores enough to devote 12 hours of my time sitting in front of my TV listening to them when I could just be watching the movies. I don’t know why but Shore’s Lord of the Rings scores just never really clicked with me but that could be because I don’t really like Shore’s style in general. Too much repetition which I guess is to be expected considering there’s not always a lot going on on screen.
