Also, first post! Hi all!
EDIT: Never mind. I didn’t read the whole article. It’s only on the virtual console in JAPAN because the SNES version was only done in Japanese…I hate you Square *cries and pulls up his SNES Emulator to play the Fan-lation*
Though I do wonder if the PS version still has terrible load times on if it’s…well…downloaded. No disc reading.
they compressed the music :'( and Loading…. well.. at least i could take a rest each loading =w=)/
*damn those broken english… sry
Incidentally, Square’s old long defunct Washington-based US branch actually did attempt to release FFV in the US on the SNES circa 1994, under the somewhat ludicrous title of FF Extreme, but that never eventuated (apparently there was concern about the amount of memory required for translating the text into English would exceed what the SNES carts were capable of). In any event, FF Extreme was abandoned and the US had to wait to the FF Anthology re-release on the PSX in 1999 before they got their first taste of FFV.
In terms of gameplay, sure, but you’re stuck having to play it on a handheld or with the adapter that plugs into the bottom of the Gamecube. I feel like the music generally sounds a lot better on the PSX version.
