Is the 6-disc set going to be complete scores do we know? I have everything that was ever released from these movies, and for example Part 6 had a very extensive score released. I just hope they will be complete, because tracks like the very last piece before the end credits in Part 3 has never been available, and is not part of the "Final Scenes" piece released here.

Not entirely sure – this is what was said by La La Land:
"On Friday the 13th, in January of 2012, La-La Land Records, producers of the MEDAL OF HONOR SOUNDTRCK COLLECTION and THE X-FILES BOX SETS, will unleash a limited edition 6-CD BOX SET of acclaimed composer Harry Manfredini’s legendary scores from filmdom’s most iconic horror series, FRIDAY THE 13TH: PARTS I – VI. Limited to just 1300 Units, this comprehensive box set will showcase some of the most chilling, daring and skillfully orchestrated film music ever composed for the genre. The remastered scores for the first six FRIDAY THE 13TH films will be presented within – featuring more than 5 full hours of music, much of it previously not available in any official format and most of it exclusive to this special release. Also included – an exclusive 40-Page booklet that drags you deeper into the music of Camp Crystal Lake and the composer that empowered the unstoppable horror that dwells there, Jason Voorhees. Both the booklet and the six CDs will be housed in a frightfully attractive hard-cover slipcase."
and regarding the price:
"Depends on the publishing rate we can get. It will be between $59.98 to $74.98
Sucker is costing me a fortune. lol"
Yeah, it’s funny how these "lost masters" all of a sudden re-appear these days…
Most definitely. But 6 RARE AS HELL scores for a price of 59 to 80 dollars is definitely a steal. I was expecting over a hundred for the set.
Agreed – January can’t come soon enough! This will be a good birthday present to myself…
…and for example Part 6 had a very extensive score released.
The Jason Lives bootleg is from a damaged source tape, so Manfredini will have re-recorded the tracks for this new set (at least that’s what he’s been saying he’ll do for a number of years). I doubt it’ll have the entire score, but it’ll probably have most of the big pieces.
Yeah, it’s funny how these "lost masters" all of a sudden re-appear these days…
The only master I ever heard anything significant about was the Jason Lives master. Were the other masters meant to have gone missing/been damaged, too? I wonder how much of this has been re-recorded or has been restored from less-than-stellar source tapes? There’s supposed to be a hefty booklet with the set, I bet it’ll clear up a lot of things about the music.
It’s been a really long time since I’ve listened to any of this music — taken from an LP back in those days — and man, I forget how much I liked Manfredini’s minimalistic approach to scoring these films. It always reminded me of Bernard Hermann’s Psycho score. Good stuff. And it sounds great, if not quite as warm as the LP versions. I like the way this teaser album is arranged. So nostalgic.
thanks tho guvnagrover for sharing! awesome share as usual.
There’s an interview I read awhile back where the interviewer was asking if an album for the original Friday the 13th was ever going to be released and Manfredini stated that either the masters were destroyed or no longer existed but either way it comes down to the same thing.
Yeah! We get to see even better how crappy the artwork is.:P
I hope La La Land is able to use some official stills from the series in their artwork. I’d like the poster art from each film to be the disc cover.
Ki… Ki… Ki… Ma… Ma…. Ma…
Betsy Palmer’s birthday is the day after Halloween, she will be 85 years old this year.
Palmer’s need to purchase a new car was her reason for taking her most famous role in Friday the 13th. She recounted, in an interview, that her initial reaction to the experience was: "What a piece of shit! Nobody is ever going to see this piece of crap".
Despite her distaste for the film, she consented to a cameo appearance in Friday the 13th Part 2. She ultimately came to embrace her participation in the films since it made her more famous rather than infamous, appearing in the 2006 documentary
Betsy Palmer: A Scream Queen Legend.
It’s going to sell out quick so snatch it up while you can especially considering they are going to be selling copies at the double feature screening. Luckily they gave me off that day so the second it’s released I’m ordering.
I pre-ordered mine from Dark Delicacies a few weeks back. They are having a signing event there with Harry Manfredini, Adrienne King, Tom McLaughlin (director of VI) and his wife so far. Not sure if they are still taking any more pre-orders, but you can check.
Just checked and pre-orders have been discontinued. So now it’s definitely going to be a race.
What was the pre-order price on this?
If I secure a copy I’ll post it but as has been the case in the past Herbert West, the Reanimator, will no doubt beat me to it if he has any plans to up it.
———- Post added at 12:47 PM ———- Previous post was at 12:45 PM ———-
So I understand the set is $70.00 if you order through La La Land Records or $60.00 if you buy it at he screening at the Vista Theater in Los Angeles correct?
What was the pre-order price on this?
It was 70 dollars I believe but the shipping was a bit pricier than LaLaLand hence why I held off. No doubt the worst mistake ever made.

I may upload it…if persuaded 🙂
The shipping was a bit pricier, but I wanted to get a guaranteed copy, so didn’t have any issue with it.
Allow me to begin the persuasion process. PLLLLLEEEEAAAASSEE. (And by the way, you’re really good looking with that glowing hypodermic needle. Just sayin’.) 🙂 (And thank you in advance!)
🙂
The only movie I’ve ever cared for as a whole out of the series is the first one. The only thing that made the sequels worth watching IMO was Manfredini’s music and that is about it. The heavy censorship really killed the sequels for me. I’ve always been a Freddy fan but sadly apart from the first and seventh movies, the scores for that series have been crap to say the least.
BUT I do listen to my Bluray rip everyday and even with the SFX it’s highly passable until the box set becomes available. It isn’t exactly good walking music but it does make for excellent driving music if you have an amp/sub hooked up especially if you’re pumped up. The looks on people’s faces as you drive by are priceless. Just dying to hear a clean version of Annie’s chase/death music. It’s my hands-down favorite cue.
Now I wonder if they could locate the masters for Sleepaway Camp. That’d be a cool album release.

That is priceless about driving by people while blasting Friday the 13th. ROTGL!
It gets even sillier the more I do it. Give it a shot.
Can you do us a favor and post how it came out? I thought about doing the same thing, but I haven’t had much patience for such things lately.

i also preordered mine back in december can’t wait for it to come in. I might do a edit for friday the 13th part 7 the new blood using the dvd ,soundtrack for jason lives and also the soundtrack for part 7. Since that score is alot of recycled music from part 6

While Part 3 is legendary as it’s the one where he acquired his trademark mask & it is a favorite Friday film of mine, Jason Lives is my favorite of the entire series. I don’t know why lol.
thanks, can’t wait for the box set!
They’re releasing a box set??? When???? Is it gonna be full complete scores from all the Friday films?[COLOR="Silver"]
chu chu chu ah ah ah ha
Funny. I always thought it was Chi Chi Chi Ah Ah Ah. Sounded that way to me lol.
On a side note, the tracklisting was posting and while I’m not too big of a fan of the track titles (they sound rather generic, like the later films) but as many times as I’ve ripped the isolated score there is one track that completely baffles me as to what it is: Alice Goes to the Lake (Parts 1 and 2). It’s right after the Banjo Travelin’ cue on the Friday the 13th album but in the film right after that cue is Annie’s chase/death music. It’s not listed as unused but it’s definitely not in that place in the film.
Nah it’s been talked about in length at interviews and such by Manfredini, it’s Ki Ki Ki Ma Ma Ma.

Not sure if I want to wait until tomorrow and brave the crowds for the signing, or order from La La Land and get it signed by Mr Manfredini.
La La Land is charging $9.00 for shipping domestically plus tax for me in California so it’s like $85.00 out the door.
International shipping is $17.00 on this set.
Believe me, if I was not broker than broken shit right now, I would be going to the double-feature screening tonight with my wife and buying a copy of the box set. I’ve been looking forward to this release of music since I was a teenager.

What dsguardian just said. I’m in London and it’s $90 for me to buy it and have it sent here. I simply can’t afford that right now. I can only hope there’s a copy or two around when I can. I know, not likely. So a giant thank you to anyone who uploads it for us all to appreciate until then.
Same here. Uploading the first 3 will be enough for me since those are the 3 I’m most curious about.
