Have, you guys listened to the samples yet? Its on Amazon JP. Hate to burst your bubble but the movie soundtrack isn’t all that good this time around. If you haven’t listened to it here’s the link. This is just my opinion I am only speaking for myself, but hey maybe alot of people will like it.

at least its not Jazz saturated
I like most of what I hear so far, even if it does not sound as awesome as the previous movie soundtracks
(alltho some tracks sound awfully close to the Evangelion Rebuild soundtrack)

Edit: I hear some remakes of classic themes in there too ‘The Calling’, ‘Citadel of the Bount’, ‘On the Precipice of Defeat’ and ‘Catch22’

Track #8 – Lucifers Dance (Part C_Opus1) is a more orchestral take on the piece Catch 22 and is the only one I can honestly say I really like just listening to the samples. Other than that piece, I’m not too fussed on the rest of the score.

Maybe after I watch the film I’ll like it a bit better.

well half of the remixed themes are from the Bount saga
I cant blame people for disliking that saga or its songs, but personally that was my 2nd favorite OST (after the 2nd movie soundtrack that is)
and its starting to grow on me this one, but need more than samples to judge it properly of course

so.. prepare for a long wait

I know, yet it hasn’t appeared. That’s why I loved the 07-Ghost OST. Spanning 3 CDs and practically every musical cue used in the series. It’s a shame more publishers don’t do this.

the 4th OST at least had 4 very wanted tracks from the past (and 2 tracks i forgot even existed)
But the rest of the OST was …not that good (save for some tracks) and half of it wasnt even used by the show itself
Lets hope they plan to release a mainstream OST again soon
