"Battle Manga"

I saw this on another forum a while ago and thought it was pretty cool.

Basically, it is like the TBRPGS on this web site, but it is 1 vs 1 battles, and each person "battling" draw one page, then the other draw the next and so on. There are some good results normally! I know battle manga is the wrong name, but i’ll call it that for now!

I dont have any examples at the moment, i dunno if i could get some. ill have a go though.

I’ll join. I might not be able to make the deadlines, though. I’m in high school(grade 11), and I’m always busy except around the holidays.

I can have the first page done tomorrow, I believe. But for the weeks after that, school will start so I will probably have around 1 page every 2 weeks. Grade 11 is busy, I tell you. <sarcasm>I can’t wait to be a senior next year</sarcasm>.

I’ve drawn a few doujinshi before so I wanted to make it more dramatic. I’m done the first page. There aren’t any characters on the first page because I want to make a nice introduction. Readers tend to want drama.

Wow, looks good. You really have some style. I must say your picture looks rather "mature". It’s not something anybody can copy easily because it has so much "depth". It looks like it came from a really experienced artist.

I’ve just inked it, so there’s both a graphite and ink version of the same pic. I’ll try to put ink pics in rather than using graphite. I find it looks cleaner, and I just like it more.
This also gives people a chance to let me know wether they prfer me doing them in ink or just plain graphite. Don’t voice that opinion here, just PM me.

This picture started out as me, then kind of turned into me crossed with my PSO character. Unless I get any bright ideas soon, he’ll probably be my fight club character. I’ll have to make his clothes a bit simpler though, I’m not the greatest at drawing the same person exactly the same every time! 🙂

I’m still trying to think of a good character. I think I’ll make him like one of those classic main characters. He’s going to be average height, medium built, and wears typical clothes.

Due to some requests, I’ve decided to post the pictures in jpg format. Apparently, some people have trouble downloading the pictures in bmp format. It’s not that I have anything against jpg’s, but jpg’s usually make the colours bleed together. Bmp’s, in my opinion, are just better.

good pictures ! you two are great artists… I have a good character I was gonna scan and upload for this but my scanner is out of commision, I’m gonna try my best to get it working…. I try to reinstall and I get a flood of error messages….any tips?

When you said Robot in chat, I thought you meant a simple robot, but DAMN!!!! I’ll hav to get to work on my guy as soon as possible. I’m really sorry I’m taking so long, but I am in yr11 now :notgood: As for battle scenes, I suggest you make a simple version of your character that others can draw, and if you feel like it, in your own pictures draw as much detail as you want!!! I’ll try and get mine up, but no promises. Keep the piccies up, they’re awesome!!!!!

About that uploading thing……..I really don’t know. Have you created your own page to put them on, or adding some of your pics to someone else’s page? Sometimes you need to be a member of that site to add pics. I don’t know, mate. Sorry.

I say that we pair up in battles dealing with who joined up first. that means if forx ever comes back around, his character will fight one of Megalomania’s, and Black Dragon’s marauder will be up against either my robot guy, or if caolen posts the picture her brother wanted to….

i feel it should be decided by the other people who didnt draw the different battles who vote on the winner, and then it is posted…perhaps we could do this by sending emails?

Anywho, Fight Club.

Basically, 1 V 1 battles. First you team up with an opponent, then you decide who will do the first page. THen the other guy does the second. And so on. Basically, you have to draw both characters if needed. Your own, and your opponents. That is unless you guys have another idea about it (I’ve seen your guys pics, so I’m hoping there is another idea :)) How bout we do polls for who wants who to win each battle? Make a new thread for each fight, and make it a poll?

Als, I’m probably gonna make a new character. Seeing as everyone elses are very different, I’m gonna do a powerstone 2 inspired cowboy! 🙂 (think accel from PS2 :D)

K here is my char. He usualy has a tattered cape and spikes on his head….He is moastly like the cyborgs from the metal gear games…but has resonating blades like guyver. the little spikes have poison or stuning fluid in them. the spikes are used for climing and cutting and can grow in lenth.

beyond that he has no story. i just just made him…so…

I was just about to post the first one in our fight!
I wasn’t sure how big you would be, so in the end, I drew you in the background. I figure I had to explain that was you, as it bears no resemblance to your character.

You’ll notice I’ve done a couple of changes to my Marauder. Although I liked the big, horny helmet, I drew him so you would know what he looked like without one. I like to think of this scene as a Chaos Marauder praying to his God (Khorne), whilst an enemy has found him.

Sorry it took so damn long, but everyone else seems to be taking their time. I guess we may have just neede someone to start this off.

The face off idea actually will fit in perfectly, and now you have a face to play with. Don’t forget his symbol of Khorne carved into his head. Those little bumps on his forehead are the beginnings of horns, so I guess he’s becoming some sort of host.

Well, I’ve finally designed my main character(about time). I also drew a secondary character.

Sorry that my scans are so bad. I’m just impatient with the scanner. Anyway, the first one is the secondary character, and the second one is the main character. As you can see I’m not the most creative person in the world. The main character looks so… plain.

Woah! What do you mean. They look fantastic.
I dread fighting both of them, not only ’cause they look nasty, but they’re gonna be damn hard to draw. I hate having to shade stuff. Call me lazy (hell, call me Loretta) but if we have ourselves a fight (1 at a time) then I’m just gonna draw them in my style. You’ll notice that my style means no shading.

PPS: Oi! Ktulu. What sort of powers does your guy have. Does he use guns, or does he have a magic power? Let me know. I’ve almost finished another frame (Already! It sometimes happens. Sorry bout that) and I can’t figure out what weapon to give him.

That’s a really nice picture, Yakumo. I’m not going to be coloring your character if I ever get to fight it. It takes me long enough to draw a decent picture, so coloring it in paint or photoshop will just take me forever. You chracter looks awesome, though.

My next pic is almost finished and the Marauder has a helmet on, so that helmet problem is solved.

I like the idea of energy blasts from his hands and have already doveloped the idea into the drawing.

I think somewhere along the lines he should lose his helmet. That damn thang just gets in his way anyway.
