Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex OST 4 – Smooth in the Shell [sendspace]

Okay, I posted this in my personal "Everything I have available" thread, but I wanted to make this available to the widest possible audience, so I’m just going to start a thread for it.

I just got my copy of the Limited Edition Stand Alone Complex OST Box. Included is every soundtrack available so far, plus a 6th disc that is titled "OST 4 – Smooth in the Shell". It contains a bunch of unreleased music spliced together into one long, 50 minute track. The music itself is interesting, it being unreleased, but whoever put the music together into the single big track knew their stuff, because it’s a lot of fun to listen to. As far as I can tell, it’s only available in the OST box set, so if you want it, by all means, go for it. Link follows:

Dang, just when I thought my GITS music collection was complete…more pops up. Now I’m wishing I’d sprung for the LE set (but $40 for the regular box set was a fantastic deal). There were some unreleased SAC tracks posted on Gabriela Robin’s site a while ago, so I’m curious to listen to this to see if any of those bits are here. Thank you so much!

I’m not seeing a regular edition of this set. Only the limited edition. Have I missed something? If there is a reasonably cheap alternative version to get OST 4, I don’t want people to just download from me without bothering to think about legitimate acquisition . . .

The regular box set I’ve got is seven DVD volumes in a pretty cardboard box. Nothing special; no OST 4 (I’d never even heard of this before) and no Tachikoma flash drive. There wasn’t a LE when I bought mine, and I don’t know that I’ve seen one since. Did you get the soundtrack box set by any chance? If I didn’t have to fix my computer, I’d scrounge up enough to buy it.

If there was a 40 dollar version of the CD box set available for legitimate purchase, I would have taken down this link and insisted that people buy it. that is not the case however. When I say "Legitimate Acquisition" I mean "Buy it" "With Money".

About this release, I am posting in all threads about this issue. This soundtrack was only released with Ghost in the Shell STAND ALONE COMPLEX CD-BOX (http://vgmdb.net/album/23255)

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex O.S.T.4- is the fourth original soundtrack of the
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex anime series, composed by Yoko Kanno.
It features music composed for both seasons of the series and the film
Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. Solid State Society, and is produced by Kanno, Victor Entertainment and Bandai.

As yet, the album has only been made available as part of the Stand Alone Complex CD-BOX,
which includes the first three SAC soundtracks, Kanno’s be Human album, the Solid State Society soundtrack,
and a Tachikoma-style USB memory stick featuring previously unreleased music from Tachikomatic Days,
as well as voice clips, images and video.

Unlike the previous soundtrack releases, O.S.T.4- is presented as a single track, without breaks.
The CD-BOX liner notes make no mention of separate track titles or the artists’
involvement with each section of the album; however, the packaging does state that the soundtrack
consists of "16 pieces". Despite the continuous nature of the release,
the overlaps and fades between the 16 sub-tracks are minimal.

Because it was really not necessary to have in duplicate the other already soundtrack cds, I left it all out, when in fact they have nothing new.
I just took Disc 6 and the USB Driver bonus extras.

It is my personal Organized files including:
01 ”ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK 4 – (MINUS) smooth in the shell”
02 ”TACHIKOMA USB FLASH MEMORY”
03 ”original sound split 4 – (minus) smooth in the shell”

So, here we have both full "smoth in shell" track and the split versions with all theire suposed tracklist included, plus all the extras found in the bonus USB Driver.
Added scans of the CD-Box and the USB driver (more like photos :p), and txt file with info all about it

All audio files are in MP3 VBR -V0, except the ones found in the USB Driver which were originally MP3 CBR 192kbps
Also, decided to add all of the bonus stuff of the USB Driver such as videos, images (bad quality. 🙁 don’t ask me, but this shit is official, so that is the quality you get.) and voice clips of Batou. Miki, Shousa and Tachikoma
