another SSX3 game rip thread

Ok, first of all, I’ve been trying to collect the songs from the SSX3 game ever since it came out.
I almost have it complete. Including the songs not listed in the menus, that’s right, there are songs played during the freeriding and loading and I have most of them.
The only songs I still need:

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Higher Ground (X-Ecutioners Remix)
Powerplant – Avalanche
John Morgan – Buffet Of Breaks
John Morgan – Off And Gone
John Morgan – Into The Storm

I noticed that I’m not the only one in here looking for these tracks.
Now the problem is that these songs are exclusive to the game and that’s why there is no way of finding them on the internet. Some people claim to have found the Higher Ground remix but in 100% of the cases it’s just the original. The closest I got was a one-minute sample. I even contacted John Morgan himself for his songs but he doesn’t really cooperate, haha.
Anyway, the only way to obtain these songs is by ripping them off the game.
I’ve done some research and apparently the music is contained in two files called ‘music.big’ and ‘music2.big’. The music is in a format called .mus. Now I know how to extract the music and convert them to mp3, but I need some help.
I tried ripping the music.big off the game myself but somehow my CD-drive can’t read the disc.
I would be most grateful if someone could hook me up with the music.big and music2.big files.
I can hook you up with the songs I’ve already found that you might be missing.

this post is from a long time ago, but i’ve been looking for these files two (higher ground and screw up vocal mix) do u still need the .big or .mus files? i have them

to give a fair warning though, it (the song) didn’t turn out the way i expected, i remember it sounding far more epic than it does, yet its 20mb and 8min long. But its the game rip, and we finally have it, so i’ll leave complaints aside

i can, and also the no one Knows remix. However it will take me awhile, since the program i use is opened through command prompt and i have no idea how to use it. I got lucky the first time but i can’t remember. Hopefully by the end of this weekend i can get that done

ReLentless88, could you also get all the tracks that play during the lodge area freerides? You know the kind of ambient remixes of "Go" and "Poor Leno", they too are exclusive to the game and can’t be found anywhere else.

I will upload the No One Knows remix somewhere next week, and also the tracks L255J requested, seeing as they are on another pc I don’t have access to right now.

ok, sry it took while, but the files are done and being uploaded, expect a link soon. HOWEVER, 1 thing, the file is GIGANTIC. i took every .mus and converted it to wav, but they each came out almost 100mb A PIECE, the whole thing is somewhere around 3gb. These files are 100% quality, haven’t been tampered with in anyway, hence the size, but i might take out the songs we already have

EDIT: I took out the ones we already have, so its about a gig (i think) ill compress the zip alot so i can fit it on divshare

while converting all of the songs, some came out as complete static, so if theres anything i missed, its either because we already have it, or it didn’t work. There were also 3 peak files, but it was just crowd cheering for 20minutes, and there also was a file that was a compilation of all of the previews of songs you could buy.

i have the originals but i noticed the game rips are kinda remixed, i’m interested to hear how those six tracks sound. if you have those rips could you upload them as well?

Honestly, I like the original much better because the version from the game lacks the intensity it has while actually playing because it doesn’t adapt to what’s happening on screen. (If that made any sense) I got the file from Galbaldia Hotel.

And Relentless, thanks for the work on the Higher Ground track; had been searching for a year for that sucker. Any chance you could upload the song previews file? That version of the higher ground remix, along with the intro version, is much more epic than the in-game version. Thanks!

ah could you upload it? i hope you’re talking about the game rip song, not the version you can get from the main site of galbadia hotel (since that’s the one from the official soundtrack, i already have that one). i also have the silicon soul remix as well, it’s listed on the soundtrack list but for some reason it’s not in the game. btw i have the higher ground preview you are looking for. it’s on another computer though so it’ll take me a while before i can upload it, seeing as i don’t have acces to that computer right now.

I think I have the gamerip your talking about, but I got it from ReLentless’ files in post #17 (Forget which of the two .rar’s had it) It starts and ends with a great electric solo and the whole song is riffed up a bit right? The file name of the song is random letters so you may have to preview all the songs from his two files to find the Bitter End one.

You know what? I completely forgot you were talking about Poor Leno and not Bitter End by Placebo. Sorry, all I have it the file provided on the Galbaldia site plus the Limewire version lol. The in game version IS very good. Maybe ReLentless can help us out. Looking forward to that preview version.

next time, might wanna try megaupload. with divshare, i’m only getting around 15kb. with megaupload, you get about 300kb when downloading. plus you get a 500mb storage limit.

About time someone uploaded this. Been looking for this thing forever, just ’cause of the remix of Higher Ground. You wanna talk about a rare song (that remix is a rare one to find indeed, after finding the original, which isn’t bad…. I just prefer the remix).

Nice upload but its missing the song i was looking for. The one that plays when you transport to peak 2 and it drops you off right before the lodge and you could steer right and go there or left to lead you into race or freestyle. The nice instrumental/beat that plays right there. if anyone knows what i’m talking about and has the beat can you upload it. thanks
