I’m just putting up a request for the end credits from Cloverfield by Michael Giacchino. It’s the only time in the entire movie that score is used and I’ve been hearing very good things about Giacchino’s contribution. I’d really appreciate it if anybody could help me out, although I realize that it’ll probably be extremely hard to get any kind of recording.
This is what one reviewer said:
One thing I must bring up is ROAR! the Michael Giacchino score that plays over the credits. I love that the film has no score, it really helps sell the gimmick of the premise, but goddamn Once you hear Michaels score youll wish to all the film score Gods you pray to that you could hear his entire score. Its like Godzilla, but not quite, Its huge, epic and instantly iconic.
edit: another reviewer also said
you’ll hear wonderfully uplifting soundtrack fanfare (the only non-incidental music) called "Roar," by one Michael Giacchino; it’s the movie’s one capitulation to pure camp, a melodious mash-up of every overture to every rampaging-dino drama ever unleashed at the drive-in, from Beast From 20,000 Fathoms to Gamera, the Flying Turtle.
Giacchino recorded a 12 minute piece for the end credits with an 87-piece orchestra and vocal soloists in Bratislava. No other score is used in the film. Michael is working on getting this released some how… it seemed like iTunes (or some other download service) would be the the logical solution.
I really need this piece
all I know so far is from the earlier quote. If I hear more I’ll let you guys know
i just saw the movie 30 minutes ago and i still have goosebumps
uuuuuuuuugh
he says "its still alive", and did anybody else notice while they where sitting on the ferris wheel in the end that something comes out of the sky and hits the water in the far right…. its too neat.

Thats odd…that didn’t happen when I saw it and after the credits someone whispered "I don’t know what to do"
You have to play it backwards. When you hear it in the theatres it sounds like I don’t know what to do, or "it’s huge!", but if you play it backwards it says It’s still alive.
And yeah something does crash into the ocean, but rumors are that it’s a satellite, not the monster
Also, I found this today on another forum. It starts a little bit after the beginning of the overture, and you can hear some people talking, but it’s pretty good quality. Huzzah!
Awesome!! we need this overture.
i hope giacchino hears our voices and gives us a high quality mp3 of it though D:
1.have an mp3 of it on his site
or
2. there should be an official soundtrack with all the music from the party as well

Wait, you mean you have the video or the music?
I have both the video and the music, but its still a little bit low quality. if you wanna get the music ripped out of the video you have to get this program from this website or any other of your liking.

Ive also heard that you can use it to download music from imeem, but im not sure about that though…. oh and the program is free, well at least it should be…
There isnt an actual soundtrack, wich would explain why not.
ok thanks. kinda odd though.
well atleast they didnt make a cd filled with ambiance and just one real song
thanks jahve, big help
I don’t know if someone is interested by that, but in the case this is not the soundtrack album with rock songs, this looks like a score-inspired by the film who includes (new ???) music from Harald Kloser John Murphy Trevor Rabin and others, also includes the original end credits from Michael Giacchino.

by the way this is the blog: http://theroadwarriormovie.blogspot.com
Also apparently the end credits will be officially released soon, and it won’t be the edited 11 minute version used in the theatrical release, but the full 13 minute version. This is from a guy who works with Giacchino.

nice news about Giacchino! 😛
yes, I have listen to it and I think nothing is new! :-\
the disc contains 2 Harald Kloser cues from 10’000 BC, 2 John Murphy cues from 28 Weeks Later, 1 Christopher Young cue from SpiderMan 3, 1 Trevor Rabin cue from The Guardian and the end credits from Giacchino, in not really good quality…
But it contains also two unknown tracks for me, 1 from David Bergeaud (track 1, Panic) and 1 from John Frizzell (track 5, the Tunnel)… but I don’t think it’s new music, I think it’s simply two scores that I have never listened… 😉
