The closest I ever got was a torrent with complete booklet scans and CD dump for the Sound Anime Collection – which isn’t being seeded anymore (can never ever get past 30%). The closest I ever got to a lossless rip of "Can You Play Pokemon?" was a 320kbps rip of the soundtrack. Note, even though this album is mostly for fans of the game rather the anime, I’ve heard these used a few times every now and then in the anime. Scans are definitely appreciated with this soundtrack, since I heard it contains music sheets.

I’ll make a post later of what I DO have in terms of other anime soundtracks, since I only came across this topic a few minutes a go. I just wanted to get these requests out there since I’ve been having a hard time trying to get them. 🙂

Well one is the score "proper" (that’s the one with the long track listing) whereas the one with the short track listing is like a suite of music along with some dialog and sounds (sfx) from the movie. By the way … all the dialog is Japanese

To be honest the suite version is not what I normally listen to but back in the day it was the only thing … at first … that was available. Since I had both I decided to upload both and the die hard collector will want both but if you only download one then download the one with the long track listing.

I only own the CD for this one soundtrack from the OVA, so I had to try to find a decent enough cover for the OST, apologies as I know its horrible looking.

As to playing it, you can open Foobar2000 or Winamp or any other program that supports cue playback. Just tell your software to open the cue and if it supports flac files, the cue will show up in your playlist as if each track was separate. Although in this case (and you might notice this frequently with other downloads) i forgot to change the cue file so you have to edit it yourself. Just open the cue file with notepad and look for the value near the top that says
FILE "Kotaro Nakagawa – Gun X Sword O.S.T. 1.wav" WAVE
Then change the .wav part to .flac; hit ctrl+S; close the program and open the cue file. Alternatively you could open the cue file (once you fix it) with a program called burrrn and it will burn everything to a CD.
Once you have the file in Foobar2000, you can ask the program to convert each individual track to a separate flac file if you wish.

You should be using foobar2000 anyway because it is THE audio program that is awesome. There is also a plugin for the other popular audio program Winamp so almost everyone should be able to deal with it. So long as the audio codec is lossless and plays on your computer be happy.

Thats easy! If you get it to play on foobar2000, just convert it to flac files and burn to CD. It may not have perfect gaps but should be close enough. Just right-click on the selected album in foobar and select convert to… and in options you can pick your alternate lossless format of choice and let it rip!

My suggestion in all seriousness … open the TAK files in foobar2000 and convert to FLAC files. That will not cause any loss in quality as you are going from one lossless format to another.

Then you can burn the FLAC audio files using any CD audio burning program. They pretty much all work with FLAC.

Then delete the TAK and keep the FLAC (hey that line has a nice "ring" to it, no?) LOL

Okay thanks guys, but I don’t see a conveet option when I start to read the .tak……. (go easy I use this software for 15min…….)

My mistake; the password was case sensitive and had to be entered in as "mrqwerty" sans quotes. I’ve edited my original post accordingly.

I just got Big O II in the mail today and will probably have the CD ripped by tonight and scans done by tomorrow. The whole thing will hopefully be up on Megaupload by tomorrow night, or at least Wednesday or Thursday night.

And also to MrQuerty for The Big O. Smashing! 🙂

But isn’t the original score and the Symphonic Suite the same music (10 Tracks), and the Japanese soundtrack the only version with dialogues?
Someone know better about the different versions that exist?

It’s not what’s on the scan but how big the scans are. When I tag the scans to the FLAC files they look very nice. When I had my MP3 versions the scans were like 50×50 which were small and terrible.

Not only this is in FLAC but comes with great quality scans from Grandis.

So now we need episodes 3-6 to complete the OVA set. Grandis I would be happy if you can do the scans from episodes 3-6. You did a great job with this release!

Yes it is the USA OST Soundtracks, I know there is a handful of people that want the Japanese version. I looked around for it and had no luck (or didnt try hard enough). I myself never got into the Japanese version of DBZ… since I hated reading subtitles and missing all the action. I just stuck with the US Version. More or less I am sure there will be people that wanted the USA OST as well.

I don’t see the problem with anyone making a request for their first post, especially when it’s a new member and even if they’re not new, it doesn’t really matter. I also don’t think they meant they have every anime ost in lossless, why would they request Gundam Z if that was the case? I think they meant that they’ll post lossless uploads of any anime ost they have.

Zettai Shounen OST FLAC (downloading from a torrent)

Dude its not my rars that have problems but mediafire that caused the problem. I uploaded the rar for FMA brotherhood exactly as I downloaded it from the torrent without re-packaging it at all. I didn’t check it but losslessone usually is quite good at releasing proper rars. I will just have to go back to using rapidshare and tell the whiners to stop whining because there are far too many problems with mediafire shares lately. Mediafire should give me some sort of error if, when uploading, a few files inside the rar become corrupt. If they tell me my upload is complete I have no reason to believe otherwise.

I don’t know that a recovery record is required but perhaps I will try that sometime in the future. For now I’m going to 7zip and back to rapidshare. I know its annoying as a downloader to deal with the wait times and sometimes massive traffic overloads but at least the downloads aren’t going to have corrupt files.

I know there can be troubles with rapidshare saying "there are no free slots". Just retry every 2 minutes until you get through. It may be a little annoying but mediafire kept corrupting my uploads so rapidshare is the best I can do right now.

PS – Noting previous arguments on the forum about RS & MU, As it stands please Uploaders: Have an account. It doesn’t matter what file hosting site you use but make sure the file lasts. One thing I hate about DL’n files myself is that files expires and its lost forever. What’s worst are those files that last only like 10 DLs & etc.

Acutally, if you really want to be picky about it, there sort of is. You can use lossless encoding and still have the file come out as different from the CD if you use a program that doesn’t do secure rips (such as WMP, iTunes, and similar apps). That’s why people over at HydrogenAudio are so obsessive about EAC, rubyripper, apps built on cdparanoia, etc., and argue over which one produces the best rips: because if there’s a difference between the CD and the rip, then there’s no point in ripping lossless in the first place.

Speaking of which, not to be too OCD about it, but did these Apple Lossless rips come from iTunes, or were they converted from secure rips?

I agree, not only is destructive, also kills the music itself, all the sound goes nowhere and you are just lisening NOISE.

Sorry but I absolutely disagree with this. I’m not really into lossless myself, and one of the reasons is this:

Mp3 (as an example, but there are many other compression techniques) is actually extremely good into extracting the "good", i.e. listenable, data from an audio material. Mp3 compression is an old (relatively of course) and very powerful technology, made by talented ingeniors. Many blind tests have been made using, for instance, the best Mp3 codec: Lame, in 320k and V0, and they show that a large majority of people actually can’t tell the difference with lossless. When I said that it’s destructive, I mean it removes what can’t be heard by a human ear, but of course it leaves intact the hearable stuff. Of course some older codecs were not very good and produced mediocre rips, but the latest versions of lame are almost flawless into compressing accurately.

Mp3 (as an example, but there are many other compression techniques) is actually extremely good into extracting the "good", i.e. listenable, data from an audio material. Mp3 compression is an old (relatively of course) and very powerful technology, made by talented ingeniors. Many blind tests have been made using, for instance, the best Mp3 codec: Lame, in 320k and V0, and they show that a large majority of people actually can’t tell the difference with lossless. WHAT? are you a teenager with an ipod nano or something?.. I gonna pretend you didn’t say that mp3 is a good codec. I don’t know if you know "something" about music, but is the same old war CD vs Vinyl …music is NOT digital (1,0’s)…music is sound waves…it takes a lot of " 1,0’s " to record all the true music comming out of an instrument…why do you think exist music formats like SACD or DVD-A ….Dolby TRUHD, DTS-MA…because lossy is that, LOSSY. Going down of CD quality is compress those "1,0’s" even more. A good comparision between those formats KILLS any sound of a CD…i’ll not mention the sound of mp3…if you have the oportunity to do some comparasion mp3 vs SACD…you’ll find yourself you’ve been lisening NOISE all your life. Thats why this treath is all about LOSSLESS not shitty mp3….because all we post here knows that.

Well, I’ve posted stuff here, and I don’t agree with you at all. It seems like the medium that the music is recorded on is more important to you than the music itself. You’re missing the forest for the trees, son.

Listen, given a) the tone you’re using and b) the aberrations you’re claiming ("you’ve been lisening NOISE", "shitty mp3", etc.), I won’t loose my time trying to convince someone who can’t even use HIS EARS to listen to music in order to determine its audio quality. Again, I’m pretty sure that whatever your arrogant posture is, you’ll be powerless to tell if a rip is lame V0 or lossless, as 95% of the population is.

Moreover you’re introducing an analog / digital argument which is pointless in this debate. The point is, once the audio data is digitally stored in a cd, what mp3 compression does to keep only what’s necessary, only what can be heard by a human hear. If you haven’t understood this point (which seems to be the case), then you don’t understand anything to the lossless / lossy debate.

Mp3 is NOT a codec, it’s a compression technique, the codecs themselves are Lame, FHG, Blade, etc. And Lame is not only a good codec, it’s a fantastic codec. 😉 And if you knew ANYTHING about sound and audio compression, you’d know why.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m out to speak to more polite and articulate people elsewhere.

That’s exactly my point, i’m not defending one or other media…but is the media the way music is stored, and like you…when you have the oportunity to lisen music with some quality speakers, headphones. you’ll find that hear mp3’s (not matter if it is HQ mp3’s) is not the way for lisen music —any kind of music…not media…lossy formats lose his quality going up…that’s why quality always goes up, not down…i’m not trying to offend anybody, is reality.

Well, I know that some lossless extremists consider the hundreds of millions of people on earth (and 95% of people in this board) listening to mp3 like absolute dumbasses with crap in their ears, but these same people mostly can’t tell the difference between Lame V0 and lossless unless they make a spectrum analysis! In other words they’re forced to SEE the difference because they can’t HEAR it! Maybe, in this case the problem is in their HEAD, in what they BELIEVE about an audio source, more than in mp3 itself…

I’ll say it one last time: even audio professionals with advanced equipment and trained ear mostly can’t tell the difference between Lame V0 or 320kbps and lossless, because Lame is an amazing piece of technology made by great ingeniors since years.

And I expected a more clever and articulate answer than "You are deaf !!!", talk about caricature… And if you can’t recognize the amazing audio quality of Lame’s latest versions, I’m sorry to tell you that you’re the one who’s deaf (or maybe just ignorant, as you haven’t tried it).
