Wow, after literally years of searching for the soundtrack or audio rips for Full Spectrum Warrior, I decided to task myself with making my own. Only prior audio rips i’m familiar with is stuff like opening up the *.pak files used by practically every Quake engine based games, with Win RAR, and searching for the audio files and simply dragging them to a folder.
====Ripping Process====
It wasn’t anywhere near as simple as that to rip the music from Full Spectrum Warrior. Firstly, I searched through the game CDs, inside the Data2.cab archive on the 2nd CD, there’s a file named ‘music_dvd.xwb’ so I attempted to extract it. I kept getting an unspecified error, which turened out to be that the single music file was on the 2nd CD and continued on the 3rd. I opened the *.cab file again, this time with WinRar, and it made me choose the 3rd CD during extraction so I could the music file out.
After none of my approaches worked to get the music_dvd.xwb file open, I did some research. Apparently, *.XWB files are archives that contain each of the game’s sudio files in an ADPCM format, which is made by Microsoft, and used in mostly XBOX games. I found a few tools to extract these files, but nothing I did could play them. Continuing to whore out google, I found a CMD Line app that works on some Adventure game called Money Island. I took some time to learn how to use CMD Line programs, then I got it to extract all the files from the *.XWB file, which were all dumped as *.WAV files.
Of course, it didn’t end there. No program could play those files, even though they were just in *.WAV format. I googled again and found the XBOX codec to play audio in ADPCM format, so I installed it. Afterwards, those extracted *.WAV files played in Windows Media Player only, not even VLC could recognize them. Again, off to google. I did a search for something along the lines as make audio codecs system wide, and found a tut explaining how to use Add New hardware to install custom codes. Didn’t seem to makes sense, but it looked harmless so I went ahead, and restarted, and it actually worked. Most of my apps could play the files now.
So, lastly, I started up Gold Wave, and used its Batch Processing feature to convert all the files that were in a folder by themselves, to *.MP3 @ 160kbps Bit Rate (Would have done 192 or higher but i’m really short for hard drive space) Everything worked seemlessly, and I was left with 83 converted files of music from Full Spectrum Warrior.

[Anywayz, here it is. The first and only Full Spectrum Warrior Original Soundtrack]
83 Files / 165 MB / MP3 160 @ kbps Bit Rate / 44KHz / 2 Channel (Stereo)
1 Zip Archive @ 165MB on Mega Upload. I find this site to be very stable, reliable, and it always gives me my full 200kbps. Hope I won’t be asked to up it to some other site ๐

I’m sure fans of the game will be glad to have this, and generally, anyone who is into Middle Eastern themed music should check it out as well.
Also, I just found out that the game is now free and legally available for download since Sept. 2008. I went ahead and found a few links on familiar sites (so no one is afraid to click the links lol) So get it! It’s a great game, a unique twist on the military based war game, mixing FPS like Action with RTS like Strategy. Plus, it will run on dated computers.

Thanks a lot
Many thanks, sir.
1. Are you going to upload a version with a higher bitrate?
2. Are you going to rip the music from the sequel Ten Hammers?
Nice! Very well done. Always makes me happy to see someone who knows their way around a search engine ๐ Haven’t played the game, but since you took this much time to make the OST, I’ll give it a shot.
Yo, glad to see I gave you a reason to finally make a post, after being registered on the site for so long! lol
Rest in peace Pandemic.
Umm, why you say that?
1. Are you going to upload a version with a higher bitrate?
Well I have a crappy laptop with a 80GB HDD that’s constantly flashing the low disk space balloon at me. I’d have to copy the music file from the disk again, re-rip the tracks from it, then convert them again at a higher bit rate, ’cause I deleted all the original files for space. I got exams studying for now then i’m going back home, but I could have it ready soon after Christmas. I bet there might be other people as well who would want the quality over 160kbps.
2. Are you going to rip the music from the sequel Ten Hammers?
Well I don’t have the game disks with me because my laptop cannot run the sequel (which sucks so bad!) But my brother should have it back home, so i’ll let you know if I can rip that as well. Again, won’t be till after Christmas.

Also, this FSW rip, I notice there are a lot of duplicate tracts, which seem to be a lower quality of the originals (which were like 1120 kbps lol) Anyone realised that? Didn’t notice when I uploaded it, but it’s a game rip, so it has everything, keep and delete at your discretion (:
Keep those fingers crossed for Ten Hammers OST!

Yeah, umm, I did rip the music months ago, but again, there were allot of audio files, like every track having three different audio files of the same song, except two of those will have some really awful quality.
After deleting all the duplicates, there’s about fifteen tracks left with some weird names. I’ll upload them later.
Nuff Respeck

ok more like 8 months, but you know how it is haha
Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers OST: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=P92DTKSA
It’s only like 10 tracks that I got from the game. My laptop can’t run the game so i’ve never been able to play it, so i don’t know if all the music tracks are there.
Sorry it took so long guys, got a job along with exams, and they have taken over my life
Peace, hope y’all enjoy, and see y’all around.

Hey Des, is there any way for you to repost a fresh link for the sake of keeping up-to-date? I just came across FF Shrines recently and would like access to the soundtrack. Thanks in advance, Des.
