Plus there were only a few enemies that were especially weak against Darkness anyway (the Mist Dragon and I think the Antlion were about the only bosses that had a weakness to it), where as Holy damage was far more useful (especially against pesky undead).
Once he became a Paladin though, he sacrificed heavy hitting for far more HP, better armour, and, the ability to heal himself and his party. To me, that is more important than just slaying everything he comes across.
Personally, I thought Dissidia’s mechanic of allowing him to switch between those two different Jobs at will in the heat of battle was somewhat odd, considering only the Onion Knight could do something similar in the game (between Onion Kid, Sage and Ninja).
But then, I’m a White Mage so what do I know? :p
Thread over. =P
Fixed :smrt:
The turn into being a Paladin is actually a major plot point; he goes through the trials on Mt. Ordeal to become a warrior of light instead of being a warrior of darkness. That’s the whole purpose of this plot. Having Cecil switch back to Dark Knight after this trial would be kinda silly, it’d make no sense.
