Multipatch for FF7

Hey guys,

I found on piratebay a FF7 multipatch that claims you can then play @ resolutions upto 1280×1024 and later on is 1600×1200 in the pipeline.

Anyone have any experience with this patch?? It is also supposed to have a hardcore mode, which makes the game a lot harder??

Go ahead and download it! I’m sure that it isn’t actually a trojan designed to make your computer commit suicide.

haha i would stay clear of it. if u have a really good anti-virus and anti-spyware scans and protection then maybe u can give it a try but i would stand clear of it

Unless a resolution is actually implemented in the game, there’s no way of using any other resolution, because of the graphics engine.

Well I went ahead and installed the patch.

You just need to watch what you install with the patch, and result will be that under 640×480 ful screen mode will be the resolution you chose.
Cloud looks pretty damn nice if ya install the patch for that.

You can actually see details on him, even his belt is detailed, I made a screenie, but how do I past it in this post??

that is in fort condor, cloud looks like that when he walks the world, only a tiny bit smaller, but still bigger then his original form.

That’s a completly different cloud sprite, it’s nothing like Square’s. Also, how do the other characters look?

the other characters look just the same, only higher resolution displayed, less jagged edges and all that.

I just finished disc 1 and the scene where sephiroth stabs aeris, all players envolved in that scene look A LOT better then in the original version.

By accident I had installed the hardcore mode patch.

My god, that is pretty hard, every enemy does 3 times more damage then usual and your AP goes up 3 times as fast.

I got tired of it soon enough, since around mideel enemies normally do around 1000 damage with some attacks, now that was sometimes over 3000, which almost killed my characters.

But I have yet to regret installing this patch, it’s an improvement in every way.

Can we get linkage to the patch? Can’t find it on thepiratebay.

Sounds nice. I wish I had an improved FFVII to beat. I’m actually kinda curious now. If it is 3X AP + enemy damage, it’ll be a MUCH more interesting game. Safer-Sephy was too easy for my taste, and Bazzaro will be a LOT more tougher, not to mention Reno, Rude + Elena at Underground Midgar, Godo and the 4 Jenovas. Also our no name brand enemies like Air Buster, Carry Armour and the stupid double-elemental dragon you fight in Mt. Gaia. It’ll be greatly appreciated if anyone can send me the link to any site w/ that version by PMing me, posting it on this thread or e-mailing me at [email protected]. Thanks in advance.

Pretty cool. The models look like the battle ones, cloud’s and sephiroths seem to be the higer detail ones from their final battle.

Downloading isn’t illigal, applying it is illigal. As I said, the Cloud sprite has been completely replaced, which means you’re changing the orignal game content. This clashes with teh copyright of the game. Fact is that this game is so old that Squaresoft won’t care alot, but that doesn’t mean that it’s officially not allowed.

The cloud model (a sprite is 2D no?) is in the game though. It’s the high detail one from the final fight with Sephiroth. It is Square’s design.

But wouldn’t it be more like if you change the stuff ingame and then redistribute it to be illegal??
I mean, as long as you keep it indoors…..after all I did buy the game, and so I’m not really hurting them in sales or anything.

They never did release a nice patch like this, so maybe they even encourage it, cause now maybe more people will play it again cause it looks a bit nicer.

But since the game is really old and all, they probably won’t care all that much, just like you said.

lol everyone downloads stuff illegally, even mr Neo X 🙂 But it’s shrine policy not to infringe copyright on the board (doesn’t stop them from doing it on the actual site though).
