**Spoilers** – When did you work out…?

How Squall, Ellone, and Laguna were all connected? and that Raine and Laguna did, in fact, get married?

I twigged during the cutscene in Trabia, when suddenly everyone remebered how they were all in the same orphanage.
As my flatmate (who got me hooked on the game, drat him!!!) will agree, I was mildy annoyed at that point that I’d figured it out, although, being the wonderful person he is(!) decided to lie, and convince me I was wrong. I don’t know why I didn’t want that to be true at that point in the game; now i’ve finished it, i LIKE the way it all fits together, but at the time, I guess it was just a little bit too cutesy.

Anyhoo, I just thought I’d try and find out how many other people figured out ahead of time… even if they then got waaaay confused when they reached the last time you speak to Laguna in the Ragnarok cabin, n he starts going on about ‘how there’s so much he wants to explain to Squall blah, blah blah…."

i could tell just by looking at laguna and squall…and raine, she looks too damn much like squall.

Uh, I guess I worked it out when you yak it up with Kiros and Ward in the Ragnarok and they say that they’re glad Squall doesn’t look like his father and that he looks kind of like his mother.

i figured it out when Ellone said something to Squall about Laguna not being there when Raine gave birth…

Everybody seems to think so. All the evidence seems to point to that. But if you’re not sure, just browse past topics where this has been talked about.

i kinda figured it out by lookin at that little booklet (inside the game case) where it started talking about Squall and Laguna how it talked about who they are. Plus they do look a little like each other and like someone else said

Kiros says ‘I’m gald you don’t look like your father and that you do look like your mother’ or something like that 🙂

I don’t remember when, exactly, but it was pretty obvious that Laguna and Squall were related because of their names. I know it doesn’t work out IRL that way, but in video games, you can’t just overlook that kind of thing. 😉

Just played when I met Laguna.

Laguna wants to talk to Squall and explain everything when this is all over.
Kiros says Squall looks like his mother.
Ward (translated by Kiros) says that it’s good Squall doesn’t look like his dad.

how are their names related?

squall = storm
laguna = lagoon
raine = rain

they all have to do with water.

And notably, Cloud in Final Fantasy VII had a similar-type name. Hence the famous line in the play in Final Fantasy IX’s ending: "No cloud, no squall shall hinder us."

haven’t played IX, the only ones I own are VII and VIII

I did’nt figure out till the FMV before the credits when Laguna went to Raine’s grave so I must’ve not paid attention in the latter parts of the story.

you do have to pay attention. I had heard about it, so I was looking for it.
