Sinspawn Ammes (The first boss that you fight in the game, he’s not much of a challenge due to the fact that he only uses Demi and Auron’s newly available overdrive comes in handy.)

Spectral Keeper (The confrontation takes place on a unique battlefield. The Spectral Keeper is surrounded by six fields, three of which are occupied by your active fighters. This strange enemy can prove a challenge if you do not quickly master the field movement.)

My vote goes to Spectral Keeper because I enjoyed the change of battle turf.

Also, it break’s the mould.

A one-sided battle with little suport for the first boss in the game.

Omega Weapon (Although Omega Weapon’s HP is extremely impressive, his fighting skills are not much to write home about.)

Sinspawn Geneaux (His tentacles can intercept spells directed at him and his shell aids him against physical attacks, making him a worthy foe.)

Geosgaeno (This beast is fought twice at Baaj Temple. The first time, he’s easily defeated by Tidus but the second time you take him on with Wakka and Rikku too, and he’s alot stronger.)

Dark Yojimbo (A deadly foe who’s Wakizashi and Zanmato attacks can inflict 99,999 damage to each of your characters!)

Sin (I’m talking about the head of Sin here. You have no choice but to defeat Sin before his overdrive gauge is full, because the move that he deploys will initiate a game over, no matter what the situation.)

Dark Anima (She is most certainly a mighty beast. Her attacks will cause poison, stone, zombie and curse and pain will cause instant death!)

I vote for Dark Anima because I thought that she was generally cool and extremely strong.

Next up:
Nemesis (You have to defeat all the Original Arena monsters to unlock Nemesis. If your agility levels are in the region of 200 you should get sufficient turns to force Nemesis to surrender and, on defeating this enemy, you will be presented with the Conquest Key, as proof of your heroism.)
VS
Seymour Omnis (In this final confrontation with Maester Seymour, he certainly has changed. This strange battle includes a weird elemental attack method, where Seymour uses four disks to determine what magic he will attack with. After this battle, you will be finally rid of ‘the villain with the gay hair’.)

I’ll vote for the mighty Nemesis.

Geosgaeno (The first time you fight this beast it looks like he could put up a real fight. However, he’s really just an over-sized fish as he takes flight after the third move you make, no matter what you do. However, he’ll be back and with a vengeance.)

Evrae (The Guardian of Bevelle can prove to be a challenge as you battle him on Cid’s airship with the help of the crew’s rockets. With a combination of powerful attacks and annoying moves such as stone gaze, he can take a while to defeat.)

I’ll vote for Evrae because I found this a difficult yet enjoyable battle.

Sinspawn Gui (This dangerous opponent consists of four parts, two arms, it’s head and it’s stomach. With a deadly poison attack, and regenrating arms that protect it, this Sinspawn poses problems for many people.)

Defender X (You meet this strong enemy outside the Calm Lands. He can inflict a significant amount of damage, especially with his Haymaker move. If you’re careful you’ll dispose of him fairly quickly.)

Only chance to see Requeim, and not too easy, either. I stormed through Defender X with armour break.

Next up:
Wendigo (You meet this boss after you cause some trouble at the Macalania temple. He fights with two Guado and they heal and cast beserk on him. Although he can unleash some powerful attacks, if you fight tactically, he won’t be much of a bother.)
VS
Sanctuary Keeper (This sunnava bitch can halt the more unexperienced players. He utilises a combination of annoying magical attacks, such as curse, and powerful moves, including Mana breath but when you do damage it, it heals itself 9999 points.)

I’ll vote for the Sanctuary Keeper as I thought it the more interesting and harder boss.

I know he’s going to lose, but I vote for Wendigo because I’ve always beaten Sanctuary Keeper on the first try, but Wendigo boss has a lot more HP than expected, and he’s a whole lot stronger than the characters at that point (in my game anyway).

Next up:
Crawler (This Al Bhed machina can be an extremely powerful opponent, and his Mana beam packs a hell of a punch. In addition, he releases a Negator robot which prevents spells and aeons!)

Seymour Natus (His multi-spell attacks can be an annoyanca as they attack two of your characters and the use of Nul spells is to no avail as his Mortibody friend will use it’s own spells.)

I’ll vote for Crawler, because I found it a challenging battle at that point in the game.

Yunalesca (She shouldn’t give your party much of a problem in her first form but she becomes more dangerous with each transformation. She makes good use of the status ailment Zombie after using the move Hellbiter and then inflicting damge with healing spells. Can be a troublesome oppenent.)
VS
Omega Weapon (Once you’ve defeated Ultima Weapon this legendary enemy will appear. You can learn Kimahri’s Nova overdrive from him and steal Gambler’s Spirits. Although Omega Weapon’s HP is impressive, his battle skills aren’t much to write home about and for me, he was out for the count in but a few turns.)

Dark Valefor (The weakest of the Dark Aeons, he shouldn’t present much of a problem if you play tactically and really hit home hard with strong characters.)

Dark Bahamut (Before facing him, it may be a good idea to level up some of your characters attributes to the maximum. In this battle you can look forward to an Impulse attack and, of course, Mega Flare.)

Evrae Altana (There is no longer any need to fear Evrae when you encounter him for the second time as he is merely a shadow of his former self. In Zombie state, he can be disposed of with two Phoneix Downs.)

I’ll vote for Dark Bahamut because I was really disappointed with Evrae, especially after the performance he showed the first time round.

Dark Bahamut, only because Evrae Altana is total suckage and does not deserve to go through, period.

Dark Ixion (The third of the Dark Aeons. His extreme speed can prove to be a great problem and you do have to fight him twice.)

Biran and Yenke Ronso (With Kimahri as your only fighter, you must battle his two Brothers. This bout can work to your advamtage as you will be able to extract alot of overdrives for Kimahri.)

Next up:
Penance (Once you’ve disposed of all the Dark Aeons, the ultimate opponent will appear: Penance. With 12,000,000 HP, he can be quite tough and he uses a move called Judgement Day. The strongest boss in the game.)
VS
Yu Yevon (Yu Yevon is the Final boss and will appear after you have killed all your Aeons. After the ordeal of having to kill my own Aeons I was hoping a good fight which involved alot of ass-kicking. Big disappointment.)

Fight!

Yu Yevon can simply be disregarded as a final boss and regarded as merely another plot point. It’s largely the same kind of situation as the last encounter with Sephiroth in FFVII, so it does have a precedent, even if a very lame one.

Penance, however, is an utterly pointless boss that served no purpose at all within the game’s story and requires you to level up absurd amounts to be able to beat it. And the only way to level up? Grind. Fight random encounter after random boring encounter until you finally get far enough through the sphere grid to attempt the battle. Grinding sucks in console games, and any game that forces it on you for any reason loses points.

Next up:
Braska’s Final Aeon (He may seem like a challenge at first, especially just looking at him: a huge fire demon who pulls a sword out of his chest and grows wings once you defeat him once. However, he doesn’t prove much of a problem.)
VS
Spherimorph (Your best bet is to use non-elemental weapons as your opponent will change his elemental characteristics during the battle. This fight can be fairly challenging as the enemy is resistant to physical attacks and will counter.)

I’ll vote for Braska’s Final Aeon because of the intense battle created by the fantastic music.

You must have been beefed up to high hell he did like 1000-3000 damage for me but that was like half my Hp.

Anima (This means the first time you fight him when Seymour summons him in your first battle. He can prove to be a strong foe, with strong move such as Pain and a killer overdrive; Oblivion.)

Dark Magus Sisters (These Dark Aeons are the strongest in the game and that’s no understatement. When you fight them there’s even a chance that they will use Delta Attack as their first move. By the way, Delta Attack=big fuck-off move.)

Dark Ifrit (Ifrit’s the last Dark Aeon in this competition, just to say. He’s an extremely strong opponent and counters all attacks but he’s going to be knocked out anyway.)

Yunalesca: The first high summoner, she greets summoners at Zanarkand to help them obtain the final Aeon. That is of course, until your party decides to break the cycle and defeats her.

Nemesis: Arguably the hardest oppenent in the game, this foe is truly an almighty challenge. That is, if you have the patience to unlock him.

Because you can use stuff like Underdog’s Secret or Door to Tomorrow to create the same effect, I’ll vote for Trio of 9999. Also, Slice and Dice is a waste of overdrive.

The only thing Rikku’s overdrive is good for is Entrust. 🙂

Yeah mixing wasn’t my thing Rikku and wakka were my weakest chars. But slice and dice was cool.

i do agree….but, i think Bad Breath was one of the attacks when used by malboro’s that could actually kill me….so Bad Breath – it deserves it!

Banishing Blade (The third Overdrive of Auron. Fairly strong but the fact that it only inflicts one set of damage can make it pretty crappy.)

Delta Attack (The Magus Sisters’ Overdrive which can be an incredible aid. Apart from the fact that each sister has to have a full Overdrive bar, this move is pretty damn handy and strong.)
