Plus he said he was a gaurdian 10 years ago. 23 + 10 makes 33. That’s how I remember it anyways. Seriously if 30s and 40s is old, then what does that make the average death date for human lives (80s-100s) :p.

Let’s assume that Cloud get’s to attack first. He uses Omnislash for 149.985 (15×9999). This would instantly kill Auron. Now, let’s say that Auron goes first. He will not bother using a limit break, but will instead just attack, dealing 99,999 damage. Instantly killing Cloud. We can add in other factors such as VIT, Defensive ratings, evasion, etc, but the point is that with both characters maxed out with their respective game limitations, both combatants are evenly matched. It all depends on who gets to make the first move, after that, it’s all luck. I would give the win to Auron however, since Cloud would have to come into the battle with his Limit Guage full in order to use Omnislash, and since Auron would kill him with one hit, Cloud could not fill up his limit guage during the fight. In a fair match, neither combatant’s limit guage would be filled at all, so Auron would win in a sword fight.

Now let us take a look at a magic fight. If both characters are maxed out, then let us assume all damage is dealt at 9999 or 99999. In this respect, let’s see how the fight would play out. Cloud would have Sneak Attack + Knights of Round having an 80% chance of dealing 129.987 damage if Sneak Attack activates. This would kill Auron right at the start before he could do anything.
If Sneak Attack fails, then Cloud will go first, dealing 9999 with a spell. Auron would then cast a spell for 99999. (Let’s assume that status effects won’t work). I figure a detailed answer would trump a short opinionated one and everyone would stop hating on this thread and the creator of the thread will have an answer. Besides, I had fun formulating this answer, and don’t consider my time on it wasted. If you don’t find complex answers to simple questions amusing, then don’t worry about it. However, I quite enjoy such things. Perhaps it’s for some slight fun, such as this answer. I am answering a statement with a detailed response, when no response is really needed in the first place. However, I feel good about writing this response, because your statement actually offended me a bit. I spend time answering someone’s question, and in the process, may be ending the thread for everyone who hates it(Of course, by posting this, I am just extending the thread even furthur). I suppose I am just answering your statement with another long answer so that maybe you’ll question my use of time again. Or maybe I’m just really bored and need something to do. Either way, the point is that I feel I may have provided insight into the question asked, and because I care about people more than the normal person should, I am fine with spending time formulating a proper answer to a question.
