Newbie in Final Fantasy XI…

well… not really, I’ve been playing for a long time, and i haven’t really gotten over lv 10 yet…

I kept creating new characters during the trial period, but thats kinda over now…

I play on the Xbox so my responses come out late and yeah other than fight i don’t really know what to do in the game…

I need some help and stufff… i have three characters right now

Demirh – Bahamut
Aurik – Bahamut
Tetrige – Gilgamesh

I pressed the random name button… i coulnd’t think of anything else soo… -.-

There’s so many things to do in FFXI, to be able to put it in a post would be pretty… hard to do. But, here’s a thought: Try walking around your Nation and try to find stuff that you might not have known about. Sure, there’s fighting and getting XP but then there’s stuff you can sell, stuff to craft, fishing, even gambling.

What I suggest doing is either *shameless plug* either look at my blog at http://ffxicasual.blogspot.com, something that I’m still writing for at the moment. Or, if you need a huge clue, try looking up stuff at http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/.

Oh and: Get yourself a keyboard immediately. Though the game may not require it, it is almost needed to even talk to anyone and that will be the important part of this game: Interaction with people. If you can’t do that, the game will be that much harder.

Lazy, but relevant.

FFXI is a large game so here are some general tips.

-There are many activities you can busy yourself with though smart money says you should probably start grinding in the nearest dungeon/field for XP and gil. Focus on getting stronger.

-Learn to use your auction house. Sell what items you acquire for new armour and weapons. You will be doing this for most of the game so learn what methods work for you now.

-Know that the auction house doesn’t always have the best prices; some vendors sell the same items for far less.

-If you’re a mage, don’t forget to buy spells.

-Find a good site and bookmark it. Allakhazham.com (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/) is a good place to start.

Also, I second buying a 360 keyboard or appropriating a USB keyboard you may already own (dunno how well it works though). Trust me, no one wants to wait ten minutes for you to find "Fire Crystal" "Do you have it?" in the keyword menu.

well, my computer is really crappy, so i dont even know if the game would work… i don’t even know if it would fit on my computer so… isnt it like 3 gig?

i heared with all the expansions its like… 20 gig…

I do enjoy doing other stuff but its hard to get the things required to practice doing them. Gambling, havent tried that yet, never learned how to do it…

I am looking forward to a new usb keyboard but if I tell my dad i need it to play a game… my gawd he’s gonna lecture me about how you dont need this in the future… U KNO HOW LONG AZN LECTURES ARE? yeah anyways, i dont wanna do that…

yeah i have that problem in the game, takes too long to write… also for the fact that my xbox overheats, that sucks… well, my hand reflexes are better now though, i can grab the last piece of teriaky before my brothr does! which is kinda useless unless i have to write or type a report…
