Well, I know a lot of people went to the Midnight Release for the game and are actually playing it right now.
But since I had school today I will not get it for another few more hours.
What are your current thoughts on the game? Is it as exciting as you had hoped?
Quite frankly, Final Fantasy XII, in my honest opinion, is fucking brilliant.
I’m not crazy about alot of games but without spoilers, I can safely say the characters are wonderful. I’m really enjoying them so far, and Balthier is competing with Roy Mustang here. ^___^ The battle system is fun and gambits are my best friend. You still have to pay attention but if you set them up correctly, they do most of the work.
I’m impressed with the License board and how it works; easy to understand, not complicated, wonderfully efficient, and useful. The graphics are of course, grade A stuff. The story is sufficient but considering I’m only a couple hours in, I can see it opening up into this big thing. It’s always slow in the beginning, any retard knows this.
So, the bottom line without covering anything too complicated is, it’s a great game. (from my first impression mind you) I can’t wait to hop back on and play some more. It’s getting more interesting…
Oh! and the save crystals are so cute! One of my favorite parts is when it heals everyone etc, it just looks neat. They’re a pretty blue color. (Wow, I’m such a tart =P)
My opinion will have a better basis in the next couple days and I can evaluate things better. So, this is only the beginning… =P
Then again, games are like people, you can only make a first impression once.
Just talking about it makes me wanna play, shame ive got to study and take care of day to day things that eat all my time. But ill play all weakend.
I’m about 10 hours into the game now and … I can’t believe how well put together it is. The voice acting is actually quite amazing, alot better than pretty boy Tidus and Yuna. The voices actually have feeling behind them. I especially love Fran’s and Balthier’s voice. Basch is that typical warrior gruff voice. Love the sound
Quickenings… took me awhile to figure it out. But once I decided to take on that gree T-Rex in the first fighting zone and realized that if I wanna beat it i better learn how to use them quickenings.. .. it’s really not that hard to get 10000 damage.
So Far the liscense board is a bit.. overwhelming as getting LP can be quite a grind. BUT.. being that you can steal loot quite easily and sell it for tons of gil, grinding for both LP and gil is rather enjoyable. Especially since 80% of the monsters only give 1 LP. So if you’re lvl 10 and you wanna go into a densly populated lvl 1 zone.. kill away get all the LP you need with one strike each. It’s rather quite nice.
The little odd jobs you get (hunts/marks) are fun as well. I’ve spent most of my time getting to know the battle system.
I admit though that I kinda suck with the gambit system. I’m kind of old school meaning that I’d rather just plug in commands at my own liesure.
Judges are indeed menacing. The first time you hear the voice of Judge Gabranth can send a chill down your back. His voice is by far one of the most powerful because it is so well matched to his persona. Gives him that human touch in an otherwise monstrous form.
As you can see, it’s the voices that have impressed me most. Grinding is fun, i enjoy it and the fact that I never really have to worry about money is something of a blessing. I’m about to get my second quickening at lvl 10 for each of my characters because of it as well… i mean, that’s something that makes it all worth the while if you can hammer down opponents like grapes in a vineyard.
I like Disgaea 2 much more and I’ll probably go back to playing that in a couple hours.
Please tell me how, i have my characters in level 17, the only one that has it is Balthier but i cant use it and dont know how.
And youre right about the voices, there amazing.
..I bought it then realized I don’t own a PlayStation 2…
…
D:
I’ve been watching the special edition DVD for about 3 hours now though. I wanna play. 😛
Fucking brilliant.*
I take pride in my quotes and if you’re going to fuck them up, establish your own opinion. kthx.

What the fuCk is youre problem?. And youre a hypocrite, you write kthx. and youre complainign for a C.
The quickenings are a pain in the ass. It gets easier when you have more people who have them. So far I have three people who have 2nd lvl quicks and 3 with the first lvl quicks.
When you have one person start it, he’ll start his/her little go at the mob. At the lower right hand corner you’ll see people’s names, a button, and what move they can perform as well as how much MP it’ll cost by the number of gold ovals.
NOW.. you’ll also see a blue bar at the bottom which is a timer.
If their names are lit up in white you can perform a move. If all three are gray, the press R2 until one of them becomes white, and then press the cooresponding button by their names until you perform the move. Keep doing so until the timer goes out. Depending on how many chains you have and the lvl of quicks that you use.. will determine what kind of concurrence you get. in other words.. finishing move. whew.. the strategy guide explains it best. Me doing it here can be rather tiresome and confusing.

Hoo boy. Although there is more for Twilight to be sour about, I won’t blame her. She’s sparing you for it. I wont. You ought to be thanking her, actually.
What the fuCk is youre problem?. And youre a hypocrite, you write kthx. and youre complainign for a C.
This too.
I love the entire game and I like how Vaan’s hair looks like the back end of a duck.
This too.
well, i already apologized for my bad grammar. Its because i live in argentina and im still improoving my english.
omg, you like something other than WoW?! j/k gina. ^^

she took the words right out of my mouth.

yeah, i was thinking the same thing. the voice acting is soo awesome and puts X to shame (as much as i love FFX, i must say that. although it’s not the voice actors’ faults; it was the fault of all the technicians and stuff.)
I admit though that I kinda suck with the gambit system. I’m kind of old school meaning that I’d rather just plug in commands at my own liesure.
same here x2
Well, I am only about 2 hours into it and I must say the opening was my favorite so far out of the FFs, it was overwhelming with much emotion.
i liked the intro, but i liked previous games’ intros betters. i think 8’s was the best, imo.
oh, and cloudlao, you need to learn how to spell.
well, i already apologized for my bad grammar. Its because i live in argentina and im still improoving my english.
oh, ok, then all is forgiven.
hey, hey, "don’t cry for me, argentina."
I wasn’t complaining about your grammer, I was complaining about the obvious mistake in my quote. I let you slide with the grammer too, now you’re just asking for it. It’s right there in front of you, it doesn’t take a retard to either hit the Quote button or copy and paste.
By the way, ‘Kthx’ is common internet lingo, not something to be judged as a spelling or grammar infraction. But do as you please, I’m a hypocritical, heartless bitch anyway.
Edit: Patrick Swayze is my brother by the way.
i know frasier is good but i think that sometimes u know frasier grammar grammer u know
That’s the 3rd time I’ve done that….and been corrected. I’ll never learn.
jezus, already? I’ve been playing nonstop for six hours and my characters are all at level 5!
True that
Cloudlau was asking something about quickenings…
You know the boss you had to fight outside the tomb? … needless to say it wasn’t much of a fight for me. The thing had 6700 something HP, i dealt 10940 damage using a concurrence and a series of 8 quickenings. Most were lvl 2. Now…. that’s power. The major downside ot quickenings is that they drain all your MP, but.. i figure that since it is such a huge attack.. when it’s over, just sub in the other three people, wash, rinse, repeat.
dunno what to say because this is the best and greatest game that i have played after RE4

Well here in Argentina i got the game two weaks before you guys in the states. So ive got to play like 15 hours.
I have a lot of things going on lately.
The villains are great. You see Dr. Cid talking to himself, but looking at something next to him, so it begs the questinon. Vayne… he.. well.. he seems to be kind of a power monger, but you can’t really tell what his motives are just yet. The judges really do bring life to the baddieness of the game. With their helmets on they are truely bad ass and give a monstrous visage and personality. Helmets off and you can see the human aspect of them and the Aristocratish type of attitude towards any and everything. Gabranth is truely bad ass.
BUT THIS SHIT IS FUN!!!
Now she just attacked herself wtf???
I just got the gambits, im in the sewers. Her first gambit is attack what party leader is targeting and second gambit is heal < 70%. This is pissing me off lol.
The funny thing is the last time I played this didnt happen. I put the game on today and it started. As soon as a fight is over, she turns to vaan and tries to attack him. The only way I cant stop her is switch to her and heal someone lol.
Lol.
Well by to the subject, i love this game so far. I played the demo a while back and I liked it right away. The battle system is great (minus Fran attacking herself lol). The gambits are cool and the board is good.
Trust me, go outside the temple and back in, do all the walk, don’t kill any enemy (not even the flans) in your way to the chest and open it. Then the sword should appear, at least that’s how it worked for me, and IT IS worthy.
The tomb is later in the game, if I remember correctly.
And don’t worry about running from those guys, if you beat them it only shows you a brief animation and they run away, in other words: LAME for all my efforts…*cries*
The part with the guards isnt that hard. It took me a lil bit cause I thought you have to go through the stairs they are guarding. But once I noticed it was on the same side you start on, it was pretty simple.
My best advice to you is not rely on potions too much. Use your cure spells. They help out alot. PLus you regain MP from walking so its not that bad. I have all my characters with cure at the moment, and it really comes in handy.
I just fought another boss and I must say that the boss fights are better than I expected. The game really has you paying attention to the action. Its just like an MMO. You cant fall asleep at the wheel. If you dont pay attention, your group is done. Once your gameplan is figured out, the fighting is simple. I really like this game alot!!!!!!!!!!! I just want to see how the storyline playes out.
And don’t worry about running from those guys, if you beat them it only shows you a brief animation and they run away, in other words: LAME for all my efforts…*cries*
The dead give away was .. take on the ones that are important and then run. I took out the leader with one quickening and the rest ran away lol. I thought that particular boss fight was pretty lame.
Yes the tomb is later on in the game. To the guy who just ran away from them… take your time to farm some LP and gil. The liscenses make all the difference. I’ve got 32 hours under my belt now and I swear half of that was spent getting LP. I now have all 18 quickenings available to me and a CRAP load of other stuff. Just food for thought.
I personally, am a sexist bitch when it comes to such things and my main party is Ashe, Fran, and Penelo. Ashe is my tank, Fran is my DPS, and Penelo is my healer. They can also all heal respectively.
I’m currently grinding the mines for money and levels before I continue a little further. I need to upgrade my gear, weapons, and buy new spells. I’m also switching Penelo to bows and Fran to a melee weapon like poles, spears, rods, poles, or possibly staves. (Shortly after this decision, I noticed it’s the same weapon setup in the demo from DQ8 and it works quite nicely) Unfortunately, I’m short on Gil and LP so I have to get my butt into gear, those potions do not buy themselves and potion gambits are useless without them.

Sounds like a plan lol. When I get the chance I plan to do the same. When it comes to rpgs I tend to be a level whore and Im not happy till my party is extremely beefed up lol. My only regret is not having enough time to play the game as much as I would like. Ive only logged in around 8 hrs. Hopefully Ill get more done this weekend.
Vaan :: DD/Tank [Sword/Shield::Technicks::Limited White/Black Magic Capabilities]
Balthier :: DD/Ranged [Gun::Technicks::Limited White magic]
Fran :: Battlemage :: [Katana or Bow::Magic of all color::Limited Technicks]
Basch :: Tank/Massive DD [Axe/Shield::Technicks, mostly augments to boost strength, attack power and HP]
Ashe :: DD non-tank/Healer [Sword/Shield::Magic all Color/Mostly white]
Penelo :: Mage [Staff::Magic All Colors]
During boss battles I use: Vaan, Basch, Fran :: Use quickenings and regular attacks until I’m ready for round two. Then it is time for Balthier, Penelo, Ashe. Another round of quickenings :: Pop a charge on penelo then summon belias to finish the job.
I had Ashe learn a shit load of White Magic and using Staves/Rods.
Vaan is my all around swordsman complete with some tacticks and basic magick of all kind.
Balthier is the main defense who uses items and his gun of course.
I left Fran a Bow user and uped her skills in Black Magick.
Basch is the main power hitter with swords/axes and knows some magick.
And Penelo, she is my fast agile dagger user who knows just about basic spells in ever color magick.
I am definately loving this game.
You are thinking of Vayne. It is too hard for me to memorize a lot of the names to though.
i have maybe 15 hours or so into it i think. i don’t remember. all i know is i just barely came out the mines (and did the whole shout to get the attention of certain peoples) and my lvl’s are 12,12,12,11 i think.
there are a few things i noticed when i first started playing that seemed interesting to me. if this is normal for you, then excuse me. the last ff i played was 9. i never felt like playing x or x-2 for some reason. (even though i have them both lol)
1. i couldn’t change my main chars name. i know why, obviously. the voice acting and stuff. so i don’t mind. just found it interesting.
2. the battle system at first really bothered me. seeing as i’m free to move around, it gave me the impression that perhaps i can dodge or avoid attacks by moving around. so everytime i got hit, i was like "arg! why am i getting hit! i don’t wanna get hit! lol" so i had to force myself into thinking that being able to move around doesn’t really mean anything! its like any other rpg where you give hits and TAKE hits. just that i can move around for some reason. O_o after i told myself this a few times, i’m used it now and it doesn’t bother me.
3. its great how you can litterally make any character any type of job. this is definately totally new to me. and i both like it, and hate it. lol i like it cause its unique, and awesome, and you can make penelo a tank and basch a mage if you really wanted to. lol but i also hate it cause now i don’t know what to make who and i’m TOTALLY indicisive(sp?) and its really really hard. >.< i don’t know if i should make fran a mage or not. one of the things that worries me is maybe putting too much mp into a certain build, and then realizing that’s not what i really wanted? you can’t go back. >.< so basically, with the freedom of having any char be any build, i’m cursed with not being able to decide what to make them.
for sure i made vaan a tank. after ff9, i really did NOT WANT to have another "thief/bandit" as my main character. i’m really sick of games like that. daggers are the new cool thing and everyone wants to have thieves/bandits as main characters. its really not my thing at all. so i made him a regular sword shield warrior type. but then i realized it really makes no diffrence cause he never changes appearance so….-_-
i have the tendency to let my lp rack up and never knowing what to put it in. i’m always so indicisive. i’m scared to take a step that i think i might regret later on. i feel as though i have to be very picky with it, but maybe i really don’t. especially since i CAN get as much lp as i want when i NEED it…
only just yesterday did i realize…i have to use it. (all my chars had over 250 lp, one had over 300, and i thik one had 400. O_o)
i was gonna go fight a mark in the mines (the big plant thing), i went to fight it, and came somewhat close before i died.
then after the guide, i notice they mention quickenings, so i’m like..damn, i should have some by now? arg! so i spent all the lp i had around the green area (battle lore, hp +100, potion lore, gambit slots…that type of stuff) i spent it all there and got my first quickening for vaan. after that, i went to fight the mark again, and won. 😀 wow, what a diffrence. the funny thing is i couldn’t use my quickening. i think i need to have my mp all the way full for it. and i didn’t have any ether’s at all so i never got the chance. i beat the mark the old fashioned way.
btw, switching your gambits to use potions instead of cure during boss fights is definately better cause they use them so fast. i recommend that to anyone who might be having trouble. :p
welp, that’s my experience so far.
theres one last worry i have about this game, i’m worried i’m gonna reach that old classic point later in the game, where you have to do something before a certain event or you can never go back again. (like completing certain sidequest before you enter soandso building in disk 3) you know…things like that. because of this, i’ve been trying to do every sidequest i can, but this early in the game, ther’es barely any i can do at all. it’d be great if someone could tell me "oh don’t worry, you can backtrack EVERYWHERE right before you fight the "whatever" boss late in the game" that way i can have less worries for myself. i plan to have a perfect game. (or near perfect). i always enjoy doing all the extra stuff. 🙂
also, OMG FRAN IS SO FUCKING HOT AND HER VOICE IS SO AWESOME TOO OMG I CAN’T STAND IT >.<
so anyway, yes, this game is great. it’s given me my game back. i was suffering badly though a "nothing seems fun anymore" phase lately. this game took it away. i’m very happy.
This game was already out??
I thought it was coming later in November…..
I’m going to the game store today. >>
150h/$50= 1/3 dollar per hour, the cheapest entertainment ever, I love it.
and yeah, tactics names were tough, and very similar too
– I love the unprecedented (in a Final Fantasy game) that this game gives you to on and off-screen maps, bestiary, and other such items. This is exactly the sort of stuff that should have been in previous Final Fantasy games, but wasn’t.
– I remember reading a review talking about how massive this game is and they’re not kidding. There’s so much to check out and do.
– Also loving how they finally given you true control of the camera with the right-analog stick. Great stuff.
– The battle mechanics are interesting. It feels kinda like Kingdom Hearts to me, but different. Of course, in this game, it’s still turn-based, whereas with Kingdom Hearts, the Heartless and Nobodies just keep coming at you and there’s no let-up in the middle of battle. Another difference is that in Kingdom Hearts, the battle menu is always on-screen in combat, but with this game, you call it up when you need it.
– Can’t wait to get some additional party members and see what it’s like to fight in this game with multiple players. And I’m really looking forward to summons.
– I saw a place to rent a chocobo and am looking forward to building up some gil and doing so to hear the chocobo theme. Oh, and I adore the versions of the Final Fantasy Prelude and Prologue they’re using during the opening demo and loading screens.
If you haven’t heard the Chocobo Theme yet, you’ll most likely love it. I haven’t heard it in-game yet but since Roph is ace, he sent me the download for the OST. There’s 2 different versions, I’m not sure if both are in-game but regardless, both are brilliant.
Penelo’s Theme is really great, IMO.
Play it a bit more. The game is really good. I happen to like the battle system because I play alot of world of warcraft and FF11. The game IMO is really good. Maybe itll grow on you lol.
There’s a hell of a lot of terminology in the beginning of the game — ship types, countries, cities, royalty, commanders, empires, etc. and they are all kind of thrown at you at once. At the moment, I’m not entirely sure what country/empire I’m in, lol D: But I’m certain I’ll pick up on it soon. I know I’m in Dalmasca, but unsure if theres a broader name for the whole area or what. Anyway, thats minor.
Music so far is decent, looking forward to hearing more. Graphics are beautiful, as expected. Vaan looks a little funny, though. Penelo is too cute, without talking too much like a dumb blonde.
Anyway, as I said, I’m not very far in at all. I got owned by some dinosaur looking thing that I decided to attack, and got a bit frustrated. Licenses look neat, but I can see how they would get annoying. Looking forward to getting more into the actual bulk of the story, since I don’t really know a lot about it at this point. Hopefully more storyline comes through soon to keep my interest.
As Cassie says, quite a lot is thrown at you very quickly. However, I can’t complain about that approach. Even if you don’t get what they’re talking about part of the time, it would have come off as being dumbed down if they explained every little term, so it basically sacrifices understanding for immersion.
Battle is interesting enough, I suppose, but it feels like the license board didn’t have enough thought put into it. It’s way too easy to wind up with characters that are exactly alike (at least as early in it as I am), especially with LP being as easy to obtain as it is. I’m not too keen on the way you can pick up licenses for things long before you ever find them. It basically puts you ahead of the curve and makes planning unimportant. You can just buy up lots of licenses for stuff and equip whatever you come across as needed. Basically, the system is dumbed down pretty badly and loses massive points for that.
Quickenings are just plain ridiculous. Things that would ordinarily be a tough fight go down like bitches when you hit them with one. That would be acceptable if not for the fact that all you have to do to recharge mana afterwards is just run around in circles for a minute. That makes it possible to use the same character’s quickening in nearly every damn battle. I really hope the game’s difficulty skyrockets to the point where you have to use them, since as it stands, everything I’ve heard about the game being rather difficult is absolutely wrong. Maybe when people said it was hard, it was just because they got eaten by the fucking saurian in the newbie area. Putting that there was retarded, by the way. If the only way S-E could make the game challenging is by throwing random high-level monsters into areas you’ll visit when you’re lower and letting them eat you once before you figure out you have to just dodge them, that’s pathetic.
I have to say, however, that the story seems well-scripted so far and the voice acting is much better than I expected. Of course, I’ve hardly scratched the surface of that, so the jury is still out.
Basically, it’s a bit annoying to me that the game’s presentation would be an evolution from the previous games, but the fundamental mechanics of it seem to retain the same brokenness I’ve always despised throughout the later games in the series.
I’ll keep playing and maybe these impressions won’t hold up, but so far the game seems massively overrated.
My computer sucks so much ass, I had to DL it to my 2 gig memory stick. Hopfuly I’ll have my new laptop by the end of the year.

And every time they dumb it down and explain every little turm it seems to take forever and ever and ever and ever. With XII, they’ll hit you with the info all at once in the biggining, but at least through out the game you’ll get it.
Prak, you fail ;_;; Be logical here, no ones going to run in circles for who knows how long to use a mist charge every damn battle. They’re there at your disposal and they hit for alot but losing all your MP sucks. The bosses early on are quite easy; later bosses even with Mist charges I’ve had problems. Especially when my MP is 0 and the mo-fucka isn’t dead.
Personally, I liked how the FFX Overdrives worked because you wouldn’t be totally screwed in the middle of a boss battle. This new way of doing it is certainly going to pose a challenge. You have to make strategy and sacrifices, we’ll just see how it panes out.
Oh and about the License Board, yours characters are going to have the same skills in the beginning respectively but farther on, you’ll see who you want in your main party and how you want to specify them. By the way, if you think the License Board is easy, it takes 13,180 LP to fill the entire thing in not including the Esper and Quickening Panels which are about 1705 LP, which are split amonst 6 of the party members. So the chances of everyone having all the same stuff is like O_o
When I went into the palace in Rabanastre and hit the save point, it told me "You won’t be able to get out easily. You might want to save in a different slot." That was unexpectedly and surprisingly helpful. Might have been nice to have that in certain situations on some of the FF games.
Rofl, when I first saw that I got scared and was like….oh shit. But it does say that in multiple areas, so you should be alright and not cram your memory card. I haven’t had any problems yet.

Prak is right about the board. Just keep getting points while leveling and just open up more and more and you’ll eventually have whatever you need. I prefer equiping an item as soon as I get it like in every other game but whatever, ill play as is.
So far the game is highly addicitive. I do have to disagree with Prak though. IMO the game is not highly over rated. Alot of people really had low expectations due to the drastic changes in the FF formula but the over all response has been positive so its maybe a good thing for the FF series.
The level of detail on each character is impressive (most notable the bounty hunter Ba’Gamnan)
but when it comes to the marks, its still hella hard. lol marks are like 10 times harder than the toughest boss you might meet 2 hours later in the games main story line. it just sucks. now i have to wait to kill my marks. lol
and the stuff that bugged me about the board is not knowing what to put points in. but i finally figured it out. i decided with one set path that could have me play with nearly all types of weapons in the whole game. i had to make everyone use two types of weapons to make that work. i made balthier take up poles aside from his gun, i gave fran spears aside from bows. and i’m having ashe and penelo eat up the whole maces/measures/rods/staves block for themselves. basche is going swords (all kinds) and hammers/axes, and vaan is gonna do daggers and some swords. i basically have nearly everything used up cept xbows and bombs. but those are mixed in the gun and dagger blocks so i might get them anyway just to oncover the later levels.
now that i’m decided, i’m not afraid to liscence stuff anymore. lol i was always scared of putting points somewhere where i prolly shouldn’t have. but then i forget lp is neverending. just takes some time to get more. pfft. im so noob. lol
But it is badass because I have an accessory called the Golden Amulet that doubles the LP that character gets from monsters.
Still it takes a long time to gather enough LP for those large licenses that need 150+ LP.
But I love the License Board because it is somewhat like the Sphere Grid, but you have absolute freedom.
And I hate Quickenings as well.
and i always avoid reviews/previews/ratings and everything on any ff game like the plauge. who needs that shit?
even today i still don’t know what the general public thinks about it. i only know what the people at ffs have said in this forum. and so far its mostly just "it’s cool" opinions. :p
That is one of the reasons the License Board isn’t top notch, shit that makes it twice as easy considering it is already. But whatever, 13,180 is a shitload to achieve, gg.
and IMO, Accessories and Tecnicks are just about if not pointless.
Gina, I did run around to recharge mana in quite a few situations. Hell, I did it in the middle of the Ghis battle just so I could top off Vaan’s MP to fire off another quickening.
The amount of LP it takes to complete the board may look daunting, but when you consider how easy it is to come by, it really isn’t that much.
Joey is right about what I meant by overrated. As usual, the game’s flaws are being glossed over by biased reviewers and fans of the series alike, leaving level-headed people like me as the only ones who can point them out.
Thus far everything I’ve read about it is highly complimentary, which is typical of the whole series. I’ve heard it constantly be likened to Final Fantasy IX in terms of the fact that both are the final installments of the series on their respective consoles; and I have to say… any similarities between XII and IX are a welcome addition to me. So yeah, I really have very high expectations for this game and I expect it to really push the envelope.
Personally, I liked how the FFX Overdrives worked because you wouldn’t be totally screwed in the middle of a boss battle. This new way of doing it is certainly going to pose a challenge. You have to make strategy and sacrifices, we’ll just see how it panes out.
I agree. Bosses later on with like 100000+ HP aren’t gonna go down so easily even if you use all six of your character’s Quickenings. They help, and yeah.. you can use some ethers to do em again, but that’s a waste of resources. You don’t even need ALL of your characters MP to do a quickening. If one person can do one, you can still pull off a 15 Chain or more Quickening with some ease. Prak is right… bosses early on can be one shotted, but .. that pretty much ends with the demon walls. haha.
I got it last tuesday, but I wasn’t able to start playing it til saturday (huzzah college) but this has been the first game since … probably FFX (although I didn’t really like X), that has kept my attention. Like in the last 4 years, it’s the only game that I WANT to keep playing. I’m about 14 hours into it now and every time I see a cutscene I’m still amazed at how gorgeous it is. I love the music (even though Uematsu didn’t produce it) and even the battle system which I though at first was gonna suck has grown on me. The gambit system is pure genius!
All in all, I’m pretty sure FFXII is gonna be put up there on the same level as VII. So far it’s actually beating out Sega Night’s into dreams as my favorite game… ever.
Everything is nice for me at the moment.
Demon Walls, more like aggitating bastards ;_;;
All in all, I’m pretty sure FFXII is gonna be put up there on the same level as VII.
No, don’t ever say that. FFXII has already passed VII’s heap of shit.
But that’s just because Suikoden II is the greatest game ever made.
Adrammelch is still whoopin my butt though. All my characters are lvl 30 and .. man that guy is TOUGH.
I just did the same last night. In in the sandsea right now with everyone between lv. 11 and 13.
Demon Walls, more like aggitating bastards ;_;;
I can’t wait!
No, don’t ever say that. FFXII has already passed VII’s heap of shit.
I wouldn’t go as far as calling VII a heap of shit, but I will say XII has surpassed it. 6, 12 and Tactics are by far my favorite FF games. I can live without the rest.

It’s possable they’ll go down easy. You’ll eventualy get more time to do more quickenings, (is quickenings even a real word?), on top of having more power which should knock-off a considerable amount of HP. But that is a waist of resources and takes the challenge away from the game that makes it fun. And in all FF games, the bosses at first are always too easy. I just can’t wait to get to the demon walls that you and Twilight have talked so highly about. I’ll be sure to tell it you 2 said hi.
FFVII wasn’t a heap of shit, but I do agree that FFXII is soooooooooo much better. What I was trying to say was that FFXII will become the standard that most games are held to, much like FFVII is now ( or rather probably was now)
10 sucks. Other than pretty graphics, and a semi-decent story, it had nothing going for it.
From many of your posts I would guess that you are at least 3-5 hours of the story ahead of me.
But you are only Level 30?
I guess I spent too much time in the Ozmone Plains…
agreed. I felt X was over rated. The graphics, however, were not always pretty or perfect. Half the time I always felt they could have been better, but hey – it was the first FF on PS2.
Gilthanos I am surpised.

Dude, I don’t spend enough time playing. I’m only at lvl 13 at the sandsea.
I think my characters are all around like 34-36 right now.

I’m level 30 and I’m currently passing through the jungle after visiting the viera village, so we both spent too much time somewhere. 🙂
You fail, gtfo.
and may I remind you all, this isn’t a race to the finish gentlemen.
From many of your posts I would guess that you are at least 3-5 hours of the story ahead of me.
But you are only Level 30?

You MUST spend too much time lvling, because I already spend 2-3 hours a day just lvling up and getting LP. Liscenses for the characters in the directions I wanted them to go are already done. I’m now giving Basch magic and Penelo Technicks because there’s no where really else to go. Alot of the armor and weapon liscenses i can get, but I can’t get or don’t have the items yet to fulfill them so I see it as a waste. I’ve got almost all the augments for all the characters now…
I guess then that’s why I’m having such a hard time with Adrammelch beause I’m just not high enough level. I can totallly believe that. I’m not, by any means, trying to get through the story quickly. I don’t want to. I rather enjoy spending time to level up. I guess I’ll have to do more. The shrine where Mateus is in is a good place to do so. BTW… I killed him pretty quickly.. he didn’t even touch me. Quickenings are good.. I don’t care what people say.. if you got an ability that works.. use it. I use quickenings on bosses because they work. I’d rather one shot a boss and stand over his body and say, "YOU GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT!!" rather than the other way around just for the added challenge.
I do need to level up some more. I know that now, because there are some areas that I’m struggling in, like the caves where Adrammelch is and the waterway in Rabanstre. Those mobs are in the high 30’s and and I’m in the low 30’s.
Also.. I have ALL of my characters at lvl 30-31 now… I think it takes more time to get them ALL up there. Some people don’t level all of their characters at the same time. I do.
I think my characters are all around like 34-36 right now.
Another post.. >,<!!
I hung out there the longest for the same exact reason, but XP started getting crappy for me. Golmore jungle is still decent XP for me and I can nab some outstanding loot from the panthers. I spend alot of time in Golmore as well.
k.
edit: it’s not like Yuffie or Vincent in VII.
Inside Aerodrome, you can find Balthier.
In case you haven’t found Balthier just yet, you can find him in Sandsea
Or walk there. Not that far.
Go back to Rabanastre to buy some Teleport Stone then.
1.) You have a World Map for a reason.
2.) Full FFXII Guides Here (http://www.gamefaqs.com)
:notgood:
only the first one. And don’t, they give decent stuff. After you beat bosses, montblanc gives you stuff. So go fight them. Level up first or something.
It was awesome. Everything was unexpected. The characters are more unique than I thought, and hell, the best thing I like in this game is the whole story, and how the characters speak. The scenes are awesome!(LOTR and Star Wars combined, plus their Middle-East accents). I was happy when I got this game, and can’t stop playing it. Right now, I’m heading to the tomb of Raithwall! ^^
I’d like it more if I would have made the right choices.
Nah… I ain’t goin’ out like a chump. Ain’t got time for no jibba-jabba.

Amen. I especialy like the voices and middle-east accents. Totaly made up for the shitty voices in X.
FUCKING DEMON WALL!!!
:notgood:
pfft. Tell me about it. :notgood:
OH and if you defeat the demon wall you can access a secret area to get a COOL sword. (which you can buy MUUUUCH later on in the game)
oh, and I like how that last appendage is left behind and tips over into dust. haha..
Just today I slaughtered his ass in fifteen seconds only using physical attacks. :p
and I know about the cool sword 🙂
I’m going to try and nab it.
*SPOILER*
about 70,000 HP, plus, uses a nasty status attack on all characters. Quickenings, even if you have them at level two for three characters, is not likely to take down even half of his health. I got slain when I first tried with characters at level 21. so I’d say you should level up.
* END SPOILER *
to Ubernoob, the sword really isn’t worth the frustration.

yea i tried and i actually got him down to a third of his HP but fuck then he starts slaughtering my characters like nothing… im gonna level up a bit more cuz u get good battle chains in GOLMORE Jungle anyways…
the demon wall (earlier post) i thought was really easy just use the quickenings and then switch out and use the other quickenings and they drop fast, i didnt get hit by either wall but im guessing you need to get good quickening combos to do that
The game is great so far but the only voice I don’t like is Vaan’s. When you’d think he’d have emotion, he’s kinda monotone. >.>
And my friend’s dying to know what pairings there are *wary sigh* Anyone know? *shoos her away* We’ve got a bet going XD $10 for either VaanxAshe or PeneloxVaan.
ya i dunno either id like to kno too
I’ll try your stadegy today 300zxJ. 🙂
aight man good luck i got quickening combos of around 13 each time so try to do that i dunno if itll work with less

I don’t think a 19yr old girl being princess would date a 17 yr old hood rat :p
Aladdin does not count, they’re about same age.
Aladdin does not count, they’re about same age.
And it’s disney – they strive on "boy meets girl" happy endings.
x 2. From what i’ve been reading in here, i’m not expecting the game to be perfect, but even so I’m really looking forward to it!
Its not perfect but so far IMO, its a great game. Its a breath of fresh air for the FF series. When does it come out for you?
I’m definitley going to give it a go, as soon as I get the chance! =)
It won’t be coming out in the UK till around early 2007 🙁
It’s Belias. He’s in the story line so you’ll get him. I’d rather not say when/where because it’ll be more exciting when the time comes.
Hard to say. I’m still playing so I’m not sure how much is left in the game to say if it’s far into the story or not.
*KIND OF SPOILER* About pairing.
I’m pretty sure its with Ashe because she keeps seeing images of her dead husband, but when she gets closer the image, it vanishes and Vaan is standing in it’s place. Vaan is also the only one other than Ashe who can see these images.
*END SPOILER*
I’m going to try and master it (Max levels, all licences and so on).
I’m going to try and master it (Max levels, all licences and so on).
Yeah this game has a shitload of content. Just look at the license board, all the hunts from your guild and the pubs and you are looking at well over 100 hours of gameplay. Lets not forget the sky pirates den. Im level 18 I believe and I have 20 hrs played already. Im not even far in the game. Im loving every minute of it so far.
me too man, except im lvl 32… a whole two more lvls wow
Damn *runs to ps2 to lvl characters more*. Where are you at in the game?
It does although, take longer to level up. I’m only level 8 or so, and I’ve played 7.5 hours and I just met Fran and the other guy in the sewers.
The only thing I really want to know is where is the treasure with the spear that you’re not supposed to open (yet), and when do you actually open it?
VII isnt to long man, that game is the shit!!
Shut up please, kthx.
*sighs* Oh, Gina. I love your hatred for VII. lol.
As for my progress report – I’m on my way to the Henne Mines, but I’ve been building levels, LP, EXP, etc. by killing off Zaghnal’s, Zu’s and the occasional Black Chocobos since last night. Everyone is at levels 21, 22 and Vaan is at 23. As for Quickenings, (Which I still believe is not a word), Vaan and Fran only need 1 more each.
little kid… do you cry about anything dumber than that shit? if you look at the posts youd see noone was talking to you k bye
Hey, show some respect. Wether she know it or even cares, that’s my home girl. Shut your mouth when speaking to her.
I’m glad to hear that. I got the idea, from something I read, that the average completion time would only be around 70 hours which I did feel a tad suprised at, at the time. Still saying that, I don’t think that was supposed to include any of the sidequest stuff.
I’ve got quickenings for Vaan, Ashe, Balther, Bacsh!
my main party are now lvl 32’s and the others are 30. everyone has all their quickenings but theyve had them since around lvl 25
this game is the shit!
I have 43 hours on this game and I am level 53 and just now leaving Archades.
And FFX, I have 39 hours and I had just beat Omega.
Based off this I am concluding that FFXII is loaded with enough extra content to keep you occupied.
If WYRM really as hard as everyone says?
Thanks.
Thanks.
no problem, i hope it helps you.
Um can someone tell me what to do on the Breakers like the specail attack what do I push for vaans? before the time runs out I dont really get it?
the quickenings? it depends on what position the person is in your party, and if there is no symbol next to it (X,square,or triangle) then press R2 until there is one, you gotta be fast
Wow, you really are a retard. If you’re going to flaunt your shitty Sephiroth avatar and FFVII fanboy then do it somewhere else because I most certainly don’t want to hear about it. "ZOMG BEST GAME EVAR!!!1!!" I also, don’t give a shit who you were talking to and I will comment about how incorrect your posts are. FFVII sucks my imaginary purple cock and if you’re going to be a little prick, you’ll be sucking it too.
Hell, I even said ‘please’ when I told you to shut up.
But anyway, as far as FF12 progression goes; I don’t play all that much. I’m still picking up and practicing new routines for Para Para from the e-web and sitting on 4chan too much. Ashe, Penelo, and Fran are still my main party and double the level the men are. The end.
your calling me a retard…
Yes, I am, in fact, calling you a retard.
ok, dumbass im "flaunting" anything and ya i like VII, who the fuck cares? these are FINAL FANTASY forums moron!
Yes, you are "flaunting anything" eh? You might want to put the ‘not’ in there unless you’re admitting that you are. Just because it’s a Final Fantasy forums doesn’t mean you can post around like a Sephiroth humping fucktard.
i was having a conversation with people about the game so dont try to but in and talk shit because you were beatin as a child and most likely punked in school.
I love how random people on the internet know my childhood; Newsflash, you’re not fucking David Blaine or anything close, you can’t pull my past out of your ass. Have a conversation with that person through PMs or in the FFVII board.
not once did i say "ZOMG BEST GAME EVAR!!!" i said "this game is the shit, and i said the same for XII because i like both pretty much equally.
I never said you said that, (I would’ve quoted you if you did) if you knew any better you would notice it’s the typical FFVII fan kid. Your "this game is the shit" quote runs along to same lines if you ask me. If you love them so damn equally, just get yourself an avatar with both Sephiroth and Vaan in it and we’ll call it a day; or maybe throw Ashe in there so you can fap to it, if Sephy wasn’t already enough.
oh, so you suck at the game? thats cool! well if your gonna make these idiotic accusations take your lame ass somewhere else
Once again, pulling random facts out of your ass doesn’t work and you really wouldn’t know my gaming tendencies. So, try again. For the record, my ass is not lame, it is cute and people can pleasantly smack it from time to time, thank you very much.
Which we do!
^___________^
also, haha @ at the silly noob with the usual bs about ff7 and being bullied in school we get from every stereotypical fanboy nit-wit around here.
i missed a word… omg… having sephiroth as my avatar means im posting around like a sephiroth humping fucktard" hmm you have some very strange ideas, its a picture get over it! seems to me you have some jealousy over a animated character sephiroth… mental? if i was so bent over sephiroth or VII, as you apparently think, i would probably have my user name and title say sumthing about one of the too, do i? no..
I love how random people on the internet know my childhood; Newsflash, you’re not fucking David Blaine or anything close, you can’t pull my past out of your ass. Have a conversation with that person through PMs or in the FFVII board.
you say im not david blaine, and dont kno your past, how would you know? if your going to make an accusation dont return it saying exactly what ur telling me i dont kno.. your pulling shit out of your ass (see i can imitate too)
I never said you said that, if you knew any better you would notice it’s the typical FFVII fan kid. Your "that game is the shit" quote runs along to same lines if you ask me. If you love them so damn equally, just get yourself an avatar with both Sephiroth and Vaan in it and we’ll call it a day.
you never said that huh? you never specifically said that i said it, but you were implying it because you were talking to me.. read your own post #206 dumbass, dont go editing now that you kno how ignorant you are. i have my opinions of certain games and you have yours, you are in no way near a superior to me so i dont have to do a damn thing to please you. i choose what avatar i want because "I" want it. you might think you can control what people can do but you cant do a damn thing quit CRYING about stupid shit
Once again, pulling random facts out of your ass doesn’t work and you really wouldn’t know my gaming tendencies. So, try again.
if random facts dont work why do you also do it? hmm cant answer that with a fact can you? i dont kno your gaming tendencies? you said ashe, penelo, and fran were twice the level of your other characters, and you dont play the game much.. you SUCK! if you ever plan on beating the game you might want to keep all characters fairly the same level until level 40.
My ass is not lame, it is cute and people can pleasantly smack it from time to time, thank you very much.
once again, your on terminolgy, quit pulling shit out of your ass! i really doubt its nice, even if it was (considering you really are a chick… which seems unlikely) i doubt anyone would want to touch that shit. you are a very bitchy, stupid, stupid girl
before try "insulting" me again as you would call it, think very hard on what you say. you insult on how i talk but you do the very same thing.
^___________^
also, haha @ at the silly noob with the usual bs about ff7 and being bullied in school we get from every stereotypical fanboy nit-wit around here.
im sure… trying to hook up online in forums? or married? either way its sad.. you called me a noob… wtf do you think this is nerd? usual bs about VII huh, well i only said one thing about VII "that game is the shit" in reply to someone so do not speak unless givin permission. FACT of information – i am not a "fanboy nit-wit" as you say, i played a game and liked it, i dont collect posters, action figures, or decorate my room full of VII shit, or any game for that matter. READ my user name n title, if you knew anything besides the names of your games, youd kno a 300zx is a car, and a Z is a series of cars made by Nissan formerly known as Datsun. this series includes for example, the 300zx, the 350z, 280z. so if you plan on accusing me of being anything, you might want to call it a street racer, seeing thats what i do all day
Rest assured, she is a girl, and I would <3.
also, i’m not going to bother with the rest of that bs you call a post.
edit to respond to last post: Yeah, i’m totally serious there, as I am in every post I make.
But I can call you for your stupidty all I please. Also, the only one I see making idiotic, baseless insults is you.
ahhh.. your brain cant handle the fact that now you kno ur accusation of me being a fanboy nit-wit was entirely wrong, just like hers… go play with urself some more buddy, you two can keep replying, trying to think of sumthing to say but it wont mean anything since everything that has been said by you two is complete ignorance, or as some would say "seeking to being noticed"
really? i dont see any of it. you’re actually gonna say that crap… wow… learn to understand what you are reading before you speak
The whole, I’m pulling stuff out of my ass, reverse shit that you’re trying to pull makes you look like a fucking moron. The whole I said your implying I said but she said and you’re talking to me is entirely confusing and it’d be nice if you knew what the piss you were talking about. Just because I’m replying to you doesn’t mean I’m quoting you, now shut the fuck up and learn to read you illiterate bastard.
My main party in FFXII does not qualify as my "gaming tendencies" or my basic knowledge in the game. I highly suggest you know what the hell you’re talking about or at least beat the game before you can deem that someone else sucks, but of course, being the fucktard that you are, have infinite knowledge of FFXII, I should’ve known. EDIT ::facepalm::
Also, my ass is posted in the internet stalker thread if you’d like to find it. I am a female and more than 1 member can verify this also with the fact that Bryan already noted that I have a cute ass. (Thanks Bryan <3) Now shut up and if you’re going to spew garbage, just send me a PM and stop shitting up a decent thread.
the fact of the matter is you keep making pointless accusations, insults, etc, which do not make any sense.

if you are really stupid enough to not realize everything you have said fits in that category, you need to make some major changes in your thinking and life

….if this was the case, wouldnt you have sent me a PM with your bullshit in your first response? dont be mad that everyone can read exactly how much of a hyopcrite you are, thank you come again. i am done speaking to ur ignorant ass so give up on making these false accusations already
Also, How are we liking this game? Welcome to the last 8 pages of this thread.
i was going to pm this to you twilight cuz im getting really bored with you… but i did not double post… once again, youre pulling shit out of your ass
nice, now you say exactly as i say, i trained you well… except for the fact that this "argument" wouldnt make a full page even if you were to add the two post from page 8… you are a very delusional person, and stop makin shit up
i apologize to you twilight, even tho you are the one who made the rude remark in the beginning…. i gotta ask you sumthing tho, why are you saying i double posted? because like i said, i did not, and you even made yourself proof of it with that screenshot…
i really like Garif town and the people they look cool
ive always known a double post to be two posts of the same in a row, which is sometimes caused when people submit the post more than once because they do not think it went through
if thats what you think it is, here i did it again… dont see why anyone would care about what you are calling a double post tho because it is not doing anything except adding another post to the thread, where as, what i was always told a double post to be is irritating since it is two posts of the exact same thing

see what im saying now? that is a double post.. and yes, i did that on purpose just to show
Quickenings help. I think I was around lvl 18 or 19. The 2nd Demon Wall is easy, though. Trust me, we all hated the Demon Wall. In fact, I think my exact words a few pages down were…
FUCKING DEMON WALL!!!
lol.
edit: I am now 39 hours 28 minutes into the game and have just arrived at the most beautiful place in the game I have ever seen – Paramina Rift / Head of the Silverflow. The spot just across the river, amazing how it looks when your walking with the camera looking upward at the mountains. I’m just now starting to understand why it took them so long to come out with this game.

It doesn’t really matter whether or not the posts in question have exactly the same content, or are totally different to each other. If a member has submitted one post right after another so they appear next to each other, in either case, then that’s still a double post.
It’s fine to add something to a post already been made, if there is something else you want to say before anyone else submits a post after your reply. However, as mentioned, that’s what the edit button is there for. No one minds if double posting happens by accident, on the odd occasion but regular double posting is against the rules on this site.
i really like Garif town and the people they look cool
so far for me i agree, its an entire NEW STYLE
Maybe not but the site staff do expect the members to consider certain things themselves, such as why the edit button is there for each member to use when they post.
double posting is always gonna be to me how ive always known it. what you’re calling a double is a follow up post
That’s still counted as a double post on this site. Still you don’t have to take my word for it. Any member of site staff will say the same and tell you it’s generally preferred people don’t double post.
Also, lolling at that 300zx clown claiming to be a street racer when he’s undoubtedly a ricer fag.
yeah sure, call it what you want but take note that i have a RB25DET engine, if you even kno what that is… if not dont speak cuz if you even have a car, itll smoke yours by a mile. if you do happen to kno what that engine is, youd kno its no ricer, FAG
Now get back on topic, fgt.
i lawled at this…you probably just did a straight drop and thought that your car could be fast…i’ve seen your type…frickin catalog tuners, all show…no go
just to let you know…i’ve got a GTi MKV with an APR Stage 3 turbo, EvoMS intake, Eurojet intercooler, Quaife LSD, Milltek turbo back exhaust, and was all co-tuned by me and a buddy of mine
if you think that n00b engine can handle 375 hp to the wheels in a straight line…btw, that’s without all the tire squealing (i could go higher if i wanted to, but i don’t like the idea of losing precious milliseconds spinning my tires)…let alone a track since my center of gravity is lower and easier to manage…tell me what strip you call home and i’ll decide if it’s worth the trip just to smoke your ass
or if you want…i could pull out my R1 and leave you at the starting line scratching your balls while i roll sub-9 second 1/4 mile runs all day on you
back on topic…this game is starting to shit up on me…no…it’s just the fact that it’s getting way to easy for my preference…if it keeps up like this i’m selling it back as soon as i beat it
if you think that n00b engine can handle 375 hp to the wheels in a straight line…let alone a track since my center of gravity is lower and easier to manage
HAHAHA you think an MKV is lower than a 300zx? your dreaming man ecspecially if its a 2+2
well anyway this game is goin great, im just catching up on hunts right now for extra stuff
Also, second-guessing others makes you look retarded.
but please lets stay on topic this thread is for How you like the game so far, not car talk. if you want to talk about cars, i am sure there are forums you can go to
IP check on aisle 5, please.

i lawled again…the 300zx may be able to put more down on the pavement, but i’ve smoked tons of cars on tracks buddy
by the way…notice how i said CENTER OF GRAVITY….not ride height…there’s a big difference there
evo VIIIs, IXs, ’04 to ’04 STis, g35s, 350zs, tell me when you’ve had enough
you can say all you want about how great your car is with a drop-in swap
power to weight ratio is a key factor in my success….that and a torque band that’ll make you cry
can you say 350 ft/lbs of torque from 1700 rpms up to my redline at 6500?
not to mention i get 280 below 1700
i’ve left tons of guys spinning their tires at the starting line because the power is too much for their car to handle…and trust me…the 300zx is no exception
like i said…tell me where and i’ll do my best to be there just to prove you wrong
I didn’t even read the entire argument(s) but seriously take your shit somewhere else, maybe another website or just another thread.
No one cares about your sucky cars.
Anyway, Prak I know Demon Wall was easy as hell and everyone thinks they are difficult but whatever.
That is just because everyone here relys on quickenings and have shit level characters.
But the system is way too easy because I just purchased some accessories that allow Double EXP for enemies.
So within an hour I climbed from level 42 to 50.
This game is not hard at all, but it is fun.
And long.
does everyone in this threads just pick someones side and then bitch cuz they dont wnat others to talk shit for siding with the "one"
ANYWAYS JOEY you fucktard look at the others before you say noone cares about my "sucky cars" these morons are talkin about them too. quit stickin your dick in prak’s ass
stfu
stfu
X2
300zxJ, this is your warning for that.
Wow, really? That’s interesting and totaly on topic stuff.
You guys suck. You got me all excited about the damn demon wall, thinking it was actually going to be a difficult fight, but i was able to turn it around, fuck it in the ass, and kill it with a nasty glare. At this point, I’m very tempted to put the game away and write it off as yet another piss easy FF game with a broken system.
So… What levels were you on? You are talking about the first Demon Wall, right? Because I took out the 2nd one by giving it a charlie horse then hurting it’s feeling by saying Santa wasn’t real.
Just popping in here to say that yeah, unless it’s to bump a thread for a valid reason, double posting is not okay.
Hey, Ndi. *waves*
cause i took my 2000 carrola stock, and crashed on the fucking demon wall and its hp only went down by 700 i was like oh fuck man! so i got a spoiler added to get more speed and i went through the wall. 😀
no but seriously. fuck you prak if it was easy for you!
also. be a pal, and please tell me what lvl you were, what you had equipped, who was in your party, and how you did it. thanks. 😀 i’ll be going back there today to get my sword. :p

it should be pretty easy for everyone…i did hardly anything (i.e. attack, heal, cure abnormal status)
forgot what lvl i was when i was at the first demon wall…maybe i’ll play through again and see
All my characters (except Vossler, who was 18) were level 16. I hardly even remember how they’re armed since license planning really doesn’t seem to be that important. All but Balthier have level 1 quickenings.
I used the same approach on both walls. Basically, I engaged the bastards fast and opened up on them with quickenings, then switched another character in to get another chain going. Rinse. Repeat. Rubble.
This has led me to believe that quickenings are completely broken and make the game as absurdly easy as the last few.
you had 5 during the wall fight. arg. i was thinking of going back. i still have the same number of quicks, but this time my lvl’s are 22,22,22,21,21,21. :p if it wasn’t for the time limit i would have owned him long ago. arg!!

I feel like a stupid noob asking this but oh well. Right now im level 31 and at the Shrine of Miriam. I’ve only used quickenings a few times. I hear from everyone their super powerful, but when i use them on even a normal bad guy, they do only a little bit more than a damage from a normal attack would. What am i doing wrong?
If its activated with Vaan or any other character, let his play out but before time runs out press button on side of other party members name. Then their animations will play, then press button on next party members name wash rinse and repeat.
Sorry if instructions werent clear enough.
Sorry if instructions werent clear enough.
Those intructions will do. thanks
You’re welcome. I had to give you rush instructions because Im trying to post and cook for my wife at the same time lol. 🙂
Indeed, tis a challenging task.
Did it work for you?
They are maybe too useful.
Seriously, I hate resorting to quickenings but sometimes I get lazy and don’t feel like finishing off a boss/mark so I will use them.
Also, the augments on the license board make MP charges go way up, so I can use a quickening and shortly after have almost full MP.

there ARE huge advantages to the use of quickenings…
but i tend to not use items on my first playthrough…it gives the games i play more challenge than was intended
The accessories play a major role in that to.
The accessories play a major role in that to.
true…maybe i’ll start over and equip my battle parties with as little as possible and see if it gets harder
So you went with what we refer to as the "last resort"? If all you’re going to use is quickenings, (again, that can’t be a real word), then that explains why he was so easy. If you’re going to use quickenings for all your bosses then you might as well hang the game up. I used Quickenings at the very end during the 8th or 9th try as kind of a "final blow" when I probobly didn’t need to, I just like watching the visuals. The 2nd wall I didn’t even use quickenings and it’s actualy very easy compared to the 1st wall. then I read that is actualy true in the strategy guide.
Yeah, it worked well
damn some of the bosses in this game are really easy but then you get to some bosses and woww there pretty damn hard. like when i fought cid holyy shit i thought i would nt beat him. Van Finel where are you in the game?
Shrine of miriam… I thought Cid was good. Thanks for just ruining that for me. Put up goddamn spoiler warnings before you post or be banned.
It wasn’t all that difficult once I realized how much space I had…. I screwed up the first time though with piss poor quicks.
I love challenge when I can get around to it. I’ve been letting XII piss me off by avoiding quickenings and using my one and only Esper.
Gilthanos, I just noticed what you put under your name about Fran’s ass. lol.
god of war was somewhat of a challenge, but once you get past the learning curve…DMC3 on Heaven or Hell mode was too much at times posed much more of a challenge (i.e. damn near impossible)…sure everything dies in one hit, but so do you =P
the 1st wall the weak strong one, the 2nd the weak , i got belias, then when i went to exit the dungoen i rentered immediatly and fought the 1st wallm, Belias and Vaan for me.
afcourse the esper at the moments are weaker than me!!! and the same as when i got them, i have 3, just got the DEATH esper by accidant.
you should try it as well…limiting your equipment to what you started with is a universal thing i do to make these games pose somewhat of a challenge
he is in Rabanaster underwater swear, you need the sluice gate key which you can get it after finishing a mark mission in there.
you should try it as well…limiting your equipment to what you started with is a universal thing i do to make these games pose somewhat of a challenge
By equipment, do you mean just armor, or weapons, too?
Oh but what pissed me off is the LandWyrm.
I can’t find it anywhere. So, if anyone has fought it can you help me?
It is a Rank V Mark and the guy told me I would find it in the Tchita Uplands but I cannot find it…

i deafeted him last night, the whether must be RAINING, best way take a Chocobo from Phon coast, then go to tchida uplands, enter if there is thick cloud, means rainig, if there is little cloud with BLUE sky, then its dry time,
exit and enter till it happens, the chocobo for not to take a lot of time before you get to the dragon, by the way EXITING FROM TCHIDA TO PHON COAST I MEANT [FROM A HOLE PLACE TYO ANOTHER].
you well find him in GARDEN OF LIFE CIRCLE, just go southeast from phon coast enterance then a Blue save crystal comes, after it the area you want,
this way is better to do than go and do the teleporting crystal way, trust i tried that.
best of luck.

i got another question Regarding BELITO mark rank 5, how can i get to him in yan-nensa, i know the place but i cant reach it?????
nam-yensa i meant, in WHETHERING SHORES area.
sorry for the posts, but i found the way,
in Ogir-yensa area, the rare 2 way to go to Zeritinan caverns:
1- in east-junction area which will lead you to the north part of the cavirns,
2- in central-junction area , which will lead you to a secluded part in the caverns map, that way it will lead to NAM-YENSA secluded part in the Map in WiTHERING SHORES AREA,
now at the moment i am there…..but i am not fighting Belito….its a trap you can say, i am fighting BA GANMAN and his gang !
everything i have equipped is what each character started with but when i find stuff that’s weaker i’ll be sure to have that junk instead =P
Oh, and still adoring the music. I so want the soundtrack for this game, if only to put The Prologue (Theme of Final Fantasy) on an endless loop (kidding, but not much)…
equip it for shits and giggles!!!
seriously though…you need not worry about stats in this game

I feel the exact same way! I just got to the Tomb of Raithwall and I have quickenings for 4 or my characters. My favorite character so far is Ashe her shield is so badass.
Main Party = Ashe, Basch, and Fran.
So Agent where are you at?
Maybe I’ll pick it up again someday if I’m really bored, but I don’t see it happening since I’ll have a Wii to keep me occupied in a few days.

You really dont like the combat system? I do see what you mean about the story though. I hope it picks up in a bit. I dont think the game is too easy. Unless someones rapes the quickenings, then I might be able to see the difficulty curse drop dramatically. I myself dont use them too often.
i owe it to a friend to finish it…since he put his ass on the line to let me rent it until i’m done =P
but if it gets any worse i’ll probably lie to him and say the game sucks (which it does so far)
btw…is anyone else wondering if d_empiror knows about the edit button?…triple post ftl
The battle system’s gotta be the best thing about it, no more loading in and out of random battles, come on prak whats up with you? 😉
i killed orthros and the white mouse yesterday along with the desert wyrm thing. the deserty wyrm was hella easy. he doens’t have strong attacks even though his hp was the highest. while the white mouse and the orthros were fucking insane with their stupid waterga and shit. >.< all my chars were 24/25. if ashe didn’t have fira, i would have never killed them, she was the only one doing decent damage. lol

just beat Ultima *yawn*…somehow i feel that Ultima’s the last esper…i think it’s the name
ftr…the story is not there…the battle system makes things way too easy (even without quickenings)…and the number of hours you have played has no bearing on how good a game is (i.e. it can be because the game is frickin’ long…or it could be a way to waste time)
i’m playing VP2 at the moment…i’ll probably check how many hours i have though when i take a break

I played FF12 last night, and FF4 this morning and I really missed the FF12 battle system. I actually favor seeing the monsters over random battles. That is why I loved chrono trigger so much. I dont know, I dont get the impression that the game is so easy. Im not having a difficult time with it but some bosses werent exactly pushovers. Maybe its just me, but most FF games havent been too hard so I think maybe square is following their natural trend.
I have heard that FF3 (DS) is really hard. No save points in dungeons and inns dont revive dead allies. Ill pick it up friday.
Maybe I’ll pick it up again someday if I’m really bored, but I don’t see it happening since I’ll have a Wii to keep me occupied in a few days.
The battle system is loads better than any of the other FF’s i played (havent played X-2,IX, or VI in case u were wondering). If you really want the game to be difficult, nothing is stopping you from just not using espers, or equiping shitty equipment, the list is endless. The other FF’s were just as easy for me. Even more so, if your 20 hours in the game (which is about how much ive played) you aren’t even close to being done with this game, the game could have a sudden shift in difficulty. I say after your done playing Zelda Twighlight Princess (which im just assuming you’ll get if u get the Wii) you should go back to it.
equip it for shits and giggles!!!
seriously though…you need not worry about stats in this game
I was kind of thinking that, but this sword was just so pathetic. i had weapons that had attacks around 60 or higher and the Kings Sword only had 30 attack or so.
As for the difficulty, I myself like easier games, meaning games that dont make me chuck my controler at the wall in frustration, while Prak and many others like a challenge. I don’t really hold a games difficulty against it. Unless its like DMC 3 hard, i went through 3 controlers before i beat that.

Im 20 hours in and Im still at the mines lol. Im a level up whore. Next time I play Ill advance the story. Next is the dreadnaught.
Are the mines where u have Larsa as a guest?
If you could change it, what would you change? (has to be specific, nothing like "a better story" or anything.
My changes:
-Monsters’ lp values drops off after a certain amount of time, like xp does.
-Slightly higher lp costs for skills.
-2 player feature, kinda like tales of symphonia.
-If an enemy doesn’t physically hit, they really don’t hit
-Less time to charge up a basic weapon swing. A lot less.
-Slightly less time for items.
-Weaker quickinings that grow with you-maybe more time the higher level you are
-Slightly more variation in monsters found. I think this game is really good about it, but not quite perfect. I hate games where the map basically looks like this:
XXXXXX Where o is the start of the game,
XxxxxxX x is easy monsters,
XxxoxxX and X is hard monsters
XxxxxxX and so on continuing outward
XXXXXX
I like how this game breaks it up, it’s more realistic
Either way, though, I like this game
The mines at Bhujerba
If you’ve been playing 20 hours because you leveled and your only there, you could easily get through a good portion of the game without leveling at all.
You see for this game, I find myself doing it more for LP than EXP. Next time I play, I will go on though. What happens most times, is I level too much then I never finish the game.
I just update the armor/weapons when I come across something I don’t have the liscense for yet.
I just update the armor/weapons when I come across something I don’t have the liscense for yet.
The LP system is incredibly easy. I rarely have problems where in which i buy a weapon and i can’t use it because i lack LPs.
Right now, Im really ahead of where Im supposed to be with the license board. I dont have that problem at all and that is the reason why I fight for so much LP. I dont want to have to get something and not be able to use it. If I dont have the license, I always have enough points so Im ok.
thanks for the info

lol DMC3 was so fun…it was the challenge that made me get the urge to play it…even now, when i think i’ve mastered the game…when in play on Dante Must Die or…Heaven or Hell Mode if i blink i see the Game Over screen
that’s what keeps my playing it to this day
but i don’t hold the difficulty against it…it’s the fact that the story just isn’t really there…and they really haven’t done anything non-cliche to advance the story from the beginning

Im not trying to say that because i myself spent 60 hours on the game that it is good and every1 else should think so, but i do think it is good that even after 60 hours of play, i still think the game is sweet(for me), to you it could be crap.
I completed RE4 dont know how many times, and on pro diffuculty i cant say it was that hard it took less than half the time of what ive spent on this game up to now and i still love that game, thats how i know a game is good to me is how long i play the game.
Where is this ultima esper anyway? Ive just done the esper thats in the crystal south of feywood in guiverga(whatever its called i cant remember the name). I know theirs 1 in the stillshrine, if you use an item on the waystone it transprots you to the other room you see on the map.
And I’m pretty much the opposite. When I play a game, I play to win. If the game makes it too easy to win, that’s its own fault. I have no obligation to hold back just to make the game harder. One of the only reasons I played the thing was because people claimed it was hard, and finding that to not be the case was disheartening.
Prak — lemme guess, this game is going to become the new Final Fantasy VII for you?
Nope. I have complaints about the game and it is definitely being severely overrated, but not on the same level. At least not yet. Also, I have no idea how it develops beyond the point I stopped at, so I can’t make a final judgement.
The battle system’s gotta be the best thing about it, no more loading in and out of random battles, come on prak whats up with you? 😉
First of all, you are a dumbass for making assumptions. I liked the lack of random battles quite a bit. It’s the fact that the quickening mechanic breaks the game’s balance that I took offense to. A broken battle system is nothing new for a Final fantasy game, but I had hoped that this one would be different. I won’t make that mistake again.

As I said before, I have no obligation to hold back in order to make the game more difficult. If it cannot satisfy my requirements by natural design, it is a failure.

That’s your own business and I can respect the view. My point, however, is that the game has been hyped as being difficult. That is one of the primary reasons for my playing it.
You guys suck. The game is going to be as challenging as you want it to be. If you’re going to focus on building levels, of corse the game is going to be easy.
I never spent time grinding. It was piss easy with me rushing through it.

*yes , i have hard times only with the` Marks, the bosses are weaker for me at the moment.
*and again i think the same thing about the Overrated issue, only the GAMPLAY give much credit, as said before .
*and i agree to regarding youre last Quote.

i got a question: in NABREUS DEADLANDS, where can i findthose 2 who holds the key to open the door for stronger monsters [some creature there said it, he is there boss and waiting for them], i need it to fight and finish MARK 6 ROBLON???
i think i got ultima shortly after getting to Barfonheim Port
as for FFXII in general….let’s just say that i heavily disagree with the score that Famitsu gave it…why?…there is no perfect game, and thus no game should recieve a perfect score
I never spent time grinding. It was piss easy with me rushing through it.
Yeah i definately read in many magazines/sites/etc that this game was suppose to be very hard. That’s one of the reasons I spent alot of time leveling so when the game suddenly turned hard, i’d be prepared. And it never did.
lol DMC3 was so fun…it was the challenge that made me get the urge to play it…even now, when i think i’ve mastered the game…when in play on Dante Must Die or…Heaven or Hell Mode if i blink i see the Game Over screen

I believe its Heaven or Hell Mode where you basically die in one hit. But DMC is on my top for action hacknslash (excluding DMC 2).
I actually thought the story was pretty decent. Although it’s kind of annoying how the whole story is about Ashe and not Vaan. Still, the game is shitloads better than FF X
yeah…it’s Heaven or Hell Mode where everything dies in one hit…even you
but DMD mode is imo harder (you can gun spam in HoH) since it takes longer to defeat enemies and they can devil trigger on you, making your life miserable
zumi, did you entered and completed NABREUS DEADLANDS?
think so…dunno if i did all the sidequest but eh…not really concerned with those
but DMD mode is imo harder (you can gun spam in HoH) since it takes longer to defeat enemies and they can devil trigger on you, making your life miserable
Were the bosses dead in one hit?
yeah
If you’re not heedful, this thread may very well become your casket. Don’t post drivel like that, for the sake of your wellbeing.
i found them and found the secret path, 1 in Rabanastar in DALAN place[lowtown south area], you need to find 3 fragments, 1 is hard to get , in the sewers, operate the sluice gates, like this [a friend told me about it], 1st let them all of, then turn sluice gate n.11 and n.4, then close n.11 and open n.3, then close n.4, you should here a sound something dropping, in the same place move forward , you will find a shiny thing on the ground.
the 2nd fragment, you n eed to do 2 marks which are in the same area to be done.
the other one in Archadia [magic shop].
the secret path in nabreus deadland is in area:slumbermead, south of the orange save crystal, its in the northwes part of that area, you get to walk over the sawmp.
there continue to a shrine, you get to find mark 6 ROBLON.

Be sure that you dont make that mistake again ‘dumbass’, and be more specific in your post as ‘Broken combat system’ means ‘broken combat system’, not ‘broken quickening mechanics break’s the game’s balance’.
Now that I think about it that part of the story does remind me of Garnet, however no, she’s nothing like Garnet. Ashe is too serious. I just wish I could slip her a few drinks to loosen her up.
O yeah i see what you mean now with your previous post’s, my bad, sorry prik
in both 2 bubble helped me out, and all my phoenix and x-potion went down zero and remidies to.
reeeely strong,
now i am going to fight a mark, he is ffamiliar :IXION [ffX lightning summon] and previos a fpught with Diablos [ffviii summon] but he is small.
there is another elite mark, mysterios swordsman….he is Gilgamish[ff5 as enemy+ff8 as summon
9when using odin)]
he is tough right, comparing how i deafeted Pylester and Fafnir [marks]
any way, now i am going to settle, and will complete the MARK task, i wont go to all the sidequest, and i want to collect the final ESPERS to, i am going to End the game next sat.
now i will go and get a strategy guid to see certain things.
as a final post to this topic from me, FFXII only FANTASTIC as a Gameplay, but the story saddly poorer than it, [ usually FF games the Story is Better than the gameplay itself, even in DoC].
i rank this game with the other FF:
FFVI
FFVII
FFVIII
FFIV
FFIX
FFX
FFXII
FFX-2
FF V
[3+2+1 yet to play them and XI].
now i have been reassigned back home, going to my Fiancie, but i will finish it before getting married,
i thank all of you you interracted with me, its good to be in a community while you dont do anything except envading other countries for who nows porpose, now i am leaving the desert, and hopefully never return.

any way, now i am going to settle, and will complete the MARK task, i wont go to all the sidequest, and i want to collect the final ESPERS to, i am going to End the game next sat.
now i will go and get a strategy guid to see certain things.
as a final post to this topic from me, FFXII only FANTASTIC as a Gameplay, but the story saddly poorer than it, [ usually FF games the Story is Better than the gameplay itself, even in DoC].
i rank this game with the other FF:
FFVI
FFVII
FFVIII
FFIV
FFIX
FFX
FFXII
FFX-2
FF V
[3+2+1 yet to play them and XI].
now i have been reassigned back home, going to my Fiancie, but i will finish it before getting married,

Progress Report: I’m 46 hours into the game and finished the stillshrine of miriam and have left Mt. Bur-something and about to head back up north. Does this game ever end?
I have about 55 hours in the game and I am in the Great Crystal. Which I can tell is at the end.
So I am going back and doing all the marks/ getting ultimate weapons/ collecting espers/ and doing the random sidequests.
