I’m not sure if these need approval but if they do then sue me. I just assumed since they aren’t as organized as rumbles and gillionaire and such.
Simply, I ask a question, whoever gets it right gets to do another question and so on.
Let’s begin with one not so hard, shall we:
What’s the earliest point in the game, STORY wise, where you can get the Zodiac Spear?
In other words, name the two earliest story-advancing events getting the spear can take place between.

the chest in front of the store in the city place underneath Dalmasca (i think that’s the name of the first city. i forgot all the names) if you open it, which is connected to 3 other chests scattered throughout Ivalice, you lose the easiest chance to get the Zodiac Spear.
i pass on my question. anyone else can go.
edit: the question’s wording is kind of confusing, so just in case: it can be found in necrohol of nabudis. you find one of the espers there, zeromus, i think. it’s in a room with like, 14 chests, and the spear is in there.
After Raithwall’s Tomb and before you head through Giza during the Rains. At this point you can move Gibbs and Deweg out of the way from the Mosphoran Highwaste, which let’s you move into the Salikawood and to the Necrohol.
IIRC.
Alright, since Neg is supposedly on hiatus I’ll post another question.
Where can you find an Archadian Gentry that STAYS an "Archadian Gentry" when you talk to them?
Slavka

The Tchita Uplands – the man who gives you the ‘bill’ for the Sochen Cave Palace Mandragoras. I think the exact location is a spring or something.

Sorry, that guy’s title isn’t "Gentry".
In Archades/Old Archades everyone is an "Archadian Gentry" or "Ardent" until you talk to them. However, someone keeps their Archadian Gentry name. I probably should have said it was somewhere in the city.

You forgot "Archadian Vulgar". Anyway, there is a man in the "Grand Archade" area (you have to talk to the lady that takes you from the streets to the subway station looking area to get there) who is talking about traveling. He is talking to some woman up against a wall. He is the one who doesn’t change is name from "Archadian Gentry".

Ashe as Amalia, Larsa as Lamont, Zecht as Reddas and Vaan as Captain Basch Fon Rosenberg.
And yeah, Gabranth as Basch.
And there would be Vayne, disguising himself as mister Good Guy at the beginning of the game. ๐ (just kidding)

I’m sure you’re mistaken there.
The only themes I never heard in the game that are on the OST are:

– Chocobo FFXII Arrange Ver. 1
– Theme of FINAL FANTASY XII (Production Announcement Version)
Other then those (and I’m not quite sure about Mission Failed), all the tracks can be heard at some point in the game.

A small Happiness can be heard in a fade out effect near the beginning of the game.
You’re Really a child plays when Vaan asks about the age of Fran when they come out of Eruyt Village on their first visit.
Checking the exact location of those songs. I’ll update as I manage to locate the exact spots.
I don’t have my PS2 right now, but I think Abyss plays in an optional dungeon (or an optional PART of a dungeon).

Hynad, I actually just played through the game so I could take down when each track is played. I barely used that FAQ. I know which one you have in mind, I did refer to it once or twice when having trouble figuring out what’s played in certain places. But that was only a last resort, like if I sat through a scene and wasn’t able to work out what everything I heard in it was when I was playing, I’d just listen to it on youtube and compare it to BlueLaguna.
AND I was hoping to prove the Faq wrong about the tracks not featured in the game, but amazingly, even after doing everything there is to do in the game, I did not hear any of them.
Though, I DID find some references that that FAQ was missing. He was right in saying it was incomplete. But, having just played through the game in search of them, I can testify that they aren’t there.
So in that case, Hynad, where exactly is the "Small Happiness" fadeout? Youtube link, plz. I believe all scenes in the game have been youtubed, so, find me the link.
I know that when Kytes leaves the sewers and that conversation after the Rat-hunting, you hear "Dalmasca Estersand", and that wasn’t mentioned in the faq, for one.

Yes, it was a cockatrice. But, he referred to it as a chocobo, so thats why I said "chocobo" with the quotes.

3 each of Gemsteel, Empyreal Soul, and Serpentarius.

In the South Bank Village, you meet a women (This is Dantro’s wife). She tells you about a traveler who has taken ill and that she is looking after. She asks you to collect some ingredients for her, in order to make a concoction that will help ease the traveler’s pain.
There are three outcomes for this. The amount of ingredients you give her changes the race of the traveler.
What are the ingredients you need in order to make it so the traveler is a Moogle? (The Moogle is the result you get by acquiring all the ingredients)
Bonus points for naming the items you receive if you get the Moogle!

13 is the maximum number of ingredients you can give her, yes. The Nidhog’s skin counts for 3 of those. But can you name the other ingredients? I’ll give a clue. There are 5 of one thing, 2 of another, and 3 of something else..ultimately adding up to 13, including the Nidhog’s skin.

It clearly states "A weather vane, also called a wind vane, is a movable device attached to an elevated object such as a roof for showing the direction of the wind."

Cool.
How many hunt noticeboards are there throughout Ivalice? And what are the locations of them?
If you can name the place as well as the town/city. You get extra points.
This isn’t that hard a question. It just may require some exploration! Get your XII copies out people! ๐
Montblanc doesn’t count, right?
But anyway I believe they have them in all the *BIG* Cities (those with every kind of shop and an aerodrome). That being:
Rabanastre
Archades
Bhujerba
Nalbina
Balfonheim
And other than those, there’s the one in the Phon Coast.
So, that’s 6. 7 if you count Montblanc, so I’m not sure which answer you’re looking for, but I named them all so I believe that should be good enough.
RikkuYunaRinoa
10-20-2008, 12:00 AM
Yep. You’re correct.
You have:-
Rabanastre – The Sandsea
Nalbina – Jajim Bazaar
Bhujerba – The Cloudborne (where you’re taken for telling people not to believe Ondore’s lies!)
Phon Coast – Hunter’s Camp

Actually Famfrit is still technically optional, because you CAN defeat Cid without defeating Famfrit.
Have you ever done that or seen anyone do that? Youtube proof?
I don’t think that’s possible because as far as I remember, Cid is invincible once Famfrit is out, until Famfrit is dead.
wolfmaster913

I was counting Famfrit as required because I had never heard of killing Cid without beating Famfrit. But if someone can find proof that it can be done then by all means please do so. As of now though I would have to say that Slavka got it right. Sorry Flux.

On top of a windmill obviously… and one other place before the event starts… grr where was it again. In the Balfonheim bar?

The windmill, yes… Not the bar – think further back.

I may be thinking of a different guy. But I’m associating him with the Earth Tyrant. Is it the guy you speak to to start the Earth Tyrant quest?

11-09-2008, 09:59 PM
No, that’s the natural philosopher. The Wyrm Philosopher is related to the Vyraal, if that helps.
I DO remember seeing him in the game at some point before the event started during my second playthrough. Where was it again… grr…
I don’t think he was anywhere in Archades, if he was I’d remember his name getting changed.
And if his location has something to do with the Vyraal… well, I’m pretty sure the other place is not anywhere in Cerobi Steppe. He’s not anywhere in Sochen… was he near one of the save points at Tchita Uplands?
Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure you meet him before the event starts, right? And… that would be before going to Archades, because after you do everything at Draklor it takes you straight to Balfonheim and the event is available.

:3
Only 7 of those are correct, the ones I bolded.
First of all I asked for weapons, not ammo (though the two ammos you mentioned are available on Cerobi Steppe an infinite amount of times)
Zodiac Spear can be gotten with the Diamond Armlet in a regenerating chest in the Henne Mines an infinite amount of times, though 1/1000 chance each but still not finite!
Euclid’s Sextant and Holy Rod are also in regenerating chests in Cerobi Steppe.
Danjuro is hard to get, but it’s dropped by a monster that can be fought an infinite amount of times, so technically the weapon is also infinite. Same with the Iga and Koga Blades (there’s another Iga Blade in Garamsythe anyway) they are dropped by the Ash Wyrm and the Bogey (or whatever the Lich-monster in the Zertinan Caverns is).
As for Staff of the Magi, Luxollid is not a trophy rare game so you can fight it over and over again and get more Staffs of the Magi.
Finally Mythril Sword can be dropped by Omega Mark XII, for some reason.
So 10 more…

Ok, I finally got to pop the disc into my PS2 and see the scene again. I found a few places where it is hinted that he stole the pouch.
Penelo: What do you mean “yours”? You’ve been stealing again. What happens if they catch you?
-and-
Penelo: I thought that this money was the people of Dalmasca’s property. The Imperials stole it from us, so it’s only fair that we take it back.
While both of these point out the fact that he stole the pouch from the imperial (plus the fact that he is carrying the pouch), I am sure that the one you were looking for is the second quote I have.

In the interest of keeping this thread going, I’ll just give the answer.
In the weapon store found in Archades, you meet July again(You help her outside Nalbina early in the game). She thanks you for the help you gave her, and gives you something. If you talk to her again, you hear that she is about to start work investigating the snatching of an Imperial’s coin purse back in Rabanastre.
I don’t remember the entire conversation, but we as the player know that it’s the coin purse Vaan stole.
She gives you a Salamand Halcyon, iirc.
Yay, useless knowledge.
wolfmaster913

I do not believe that I have ever talked to her in the weapon shop. That’s good to know that she gives me a Salamand Halcyon for helping her though.

wolfmaster913

Visitor on Deck hunt: Deathgaze?
the location at least changes because it’s during an airship trip from one city to another, or is that too obvious and not the right answer?
makes me want to go down to my dad’s motor home and get my third ps2(others were gifted or thrown away in fits of confusion) buy a used copy and play it over again..
No. I said, the place where the music changes is different from the location where the battle takes place. But, upon winning the hunt, it makes it change.
Also, the airship played the same thing before the hunt took place. The one in question, doesn’t.
Let me lay it out. The place plays one thing before a certain hunt is even available. Once the hunt is over and done with, it changes.

The third descent, Penumbra, Shadow Seer?
after defeating the mark the area’s music turns all tranquil until you go back into the rest of the Ridorana Cataract dungeon area?
Actually Shadowseer is in a fourth descent beyond Penumbra called "Hell’s Challenge", which only consists of a small round room (the battlefield) and cannot be accessed again after beating Shadowseer. So, no.
But no, Ashe’s Theme still plays in the Subterra anyway after that. I’m looking for a place where it’s PERMANENTLY different after the defeat of this mark, than it was before this mark was posted.

Mt. Bur-Omisace after beating the Behemoth King? I know that you have to go back there to claim your 500,000 gil from the statue, but I can’t remember if the music was different or not.
The Behemoth King is in the Feywood… I assume you meant Fafnir since your talking about the statue, eh? That’s the reward for Fafnir.
What the hell, I’ll give it to you since I find it difficult to imagine you actually meant the Behemoth King from the Feywood, seeing as you’re talking about Mt. Bur Omisace and the statue.
But yes, beating Fafnir changes the music in Mt. Bur Omisace. It changes it from "White Room" to "Abandoning Power", or the other way around.
I will add, however, that defeating Judge Bergan also changes Bur Omisace’s music. Whatever it was when you first arrive there is the same piece that’s played after you defeat Fafnir, and something different is played there in between those two events.
Anyway, your go.
wolfmaster913
08-26-2009, 03:31 AM
Actually, I did mean Behemoth King. I just checked 3 different guides (2 online and my physically owned one) and they all reaffirmed that it is after the Behemoth King that you get the 500,000 gil and a Rod of Faith. But I guess I did get the location right. I chose him because you said it was a completely separate place, and I knew he tied back into Bur-Omisace. Anyway:
All Espers come into battle with at least one status effect on them: Libra. Of all of the other status effects there is only one which is exclusive to an Esper (meaning only one Esper automatically has this on him/her when he/she is summoned). Which Esper gets this and what is the status effect?

Oh wow, I do stand corrected about Behemoth King being the key to the statue and the Rod of Faith, Fafnir does unlock BK though. However I’m pretty sure Fafnir alone changes the music.

Might it be one of the guys in the technicks shop at Balfonheim Port? Boonswaggled makes me think pirates, and book-keeper makes me think of book stores (it’s been a while, but I think the technick shops were modeled after book stores).
Slavka
08-31-2009, 09:50 PM

He’s on one of the public airships – you just have to find which route.
Agent0042
08-31-2009, 10:00 PM
Archades to Balfonheim? Now that you actually mentioned that, I think I actually recall seeing him in one of the Sky Saloons.
I’m pretty sure that the public airship "set group of people" isn’t determined by the ROUTE, that’s only the sisters and for the Ann’s Letter sidequest. The group of people is determined by the destination, and nothing else, regardless of where you’re flying from, it’s all about where you’re going TO. Like if you’re going to Archades, you’ll have a group of NPCs that talk about why they’re going there. Same with each of the other places. You can have gone on every route and still have not met a group of NPCs, like if all the routes you went on connecting to Archades you used for the letter sidequest were departing FROM Archades, you’ll complete the sidequest without ever having met the Archades airship NPCs.
So, as far as airships go, there would be a total of FIVE different environments and groups of NPCs to meet, one for each of the five places. So, my guess is, any ship going to Balfonheim?
I guess you could give it to Agent if that’s true, but I gave a more precise answer ๐
It wouldn’t be just Archades to Balfonheim, it would be anywhere to Balfonheim.

Yep. Your turn.
Okay, I don’t know how many know about this, never heard it mentioned.
Much like the Zodiac Spear, where can you find a chest very early in the game that does NOT reappear, but you get cheap junk if you open it then, which screws you out of easily getting a very rare piece of equipment that there’s a way to get easily if you wait until you have the Diamond Armlet to touch it? (not permanently missable obviously, there are other harder means of getting this).

09-23-2009, 10:31 PM
Hmm, I think there’s a chest in the Garamsythe Waterway that fits Zak’s description. If I’m not mistaken, it’s in No. 10 Channel, and can contain an Iga Blade (or was it a Koga Blade?) when opened with a Diamond Armlet.

Could we please get a response on whether Slavka’s answer is correct. And, if it isn’t, could we please have a hint?
Sorry I was typing a response a few days ago, but my computer froze! I restarted and forgot all about it.
But anyway yes, that’s correct! Wow, someone really knows their FFXII. There’s an Iga Blade in the Garamsythe Waterway in one of the areas you pass during one of your first treks through there, and you can screw yourself out of if you don’t wait until the DA, which like the Zodiac Spear you also have no way of knowing. Only other ways to get that are 50-50 Pilgrim’s Door (that or Koga which is also rare) or hunting Bogeys in Zertinan.
Next question!

In the tutorial level (Reks’s playable part), it is possible to unlock some of the Sky Pirate’s Den rewards. Which ones can you get?
Smarty
12-25-2009, 10:48 AM
Cool Question.
I’m assuming you can get Basch, Balthier, Fran because they only involve attacking and casting spells, which Reks can do. Chocobo should also be on the table because he can run too, although I don’t remember whether it counts the steps that early. Hmmm I say Ashe too, because if he reaches lvl 50 the average lvl of the party, which consists only of him, would be 50. Oh yeah Montblanc too because there are only Imperials there and can be chained. Um that’s all I can think of right now.
wolfmaster913
12-25-2009, 12:48 PM
Holy crap! You got all of them except for Penelo (receive more than 100,000 gil), so I will go ahead and give it to ya. Penelo, Balthier, Fran, Basch, and Montblanc can all be obtained at this point, however, I really don’t know about Ashe. I believe you have to use permanent characters for her’s, though I don’t want to spend the time to find out if Reks can get it or not. Also, I don’t think that the Chocobo’s steps start counting until you get Vaan.

I’m going to say the Henne Mines? It DOES contain the ultimate weapon the Zodiac Spear… though I didn’t fully understand the question…
The question was pretty vague because it’s arguable what’s valuable.
I know that aside from the Zodiac Spear, the last area of the Henne Mines does contain a whole lot of chests in the last screen with rare valuable items.
But since that’s already been said and I think I have a slightly better answer, I’m gonna guess the Cerobi Steppe. Every chest there has a very rare chance at a valuable item.
Smarty
12-26-2009, 02:03 PM
Zak got it right it’s the Cerobi Steppe. I don’t think my question was vague since I mentioned the most treasures, not the most valuable treasure, although I didn’t highlight it, which if I knew would cause so much confusion I would have.
The Henne Mines do too have many valuable treasures including the Zodiac Spear, but the Cerobi Steppe has so much more. About 8-10 in every area.
Your question Zak.
I understood your question, I know it was about quantity as in the amount of chests containing valuable items, but what I meant about it being vague is that it’s debatable whether somethings would be considered "valuable" I mean, some are obvious, but… oh well, at least I got it.
Okay, I have an interesting question.
What’s the earliest point in the game, story-wise, where you can technically obtain the Tournesol? As in, what’s the last mandatory thing you have to do before it becomes technically possible for the Tournesol to be made, without moving further along and limiting yourself to what’s already open?
I’m looking for a very very specific point. Some of you might not believe me about the answer…
Smarty
12-26-2009, 05:05 PM
I read a perfect game FAQ a long time ago which explained how to get all items as early as possible and I’m gonna take a guess as to why.
I remember that the earliest time it can be obtained is before Giruvegan. One of the ingredients required for Serpentarius(one of the Tournesol’s ingredients) is a Serpent Eye.
Here comes what I think you’re asking. The Serpent Eye can be obtained from the snakes(Basilisks i think they’re called?) in the lower part of the Feywood, which is blocked by Mist. That Mist goes away when it comes time to visit Giruvegan, giving you access to the snakes and their eyes. Am I right?
Good guess, but not quite then.
I won’t say if it’s earlier or later though.
the high seraph
12-26-2009, 08:31 PM
After reaching the Phon coast isn’t it?
You can poach the Serpent eyes from the Grey Molter, which appears in the Mosphoran Highwaste in the secret part of Empryean way that can only be reached using those shrines that are only usable when you reach there
the high seraph, great guess, but not quite it.
But everything you said about Serpent Eyes and when the shrines start working is true, Serpent Eyes from the Grey Molter does indeed work, and the shrines do start to work after the Phon Coast gate is fixed.
However, that’s not quite the earliest point for the Tournesol (again, not saying whether it’s too early or too late).
Keep thinking…

Hey people haven’t been on in a while, flat out with work (some holiday) anyway im going with a wild guess of… after Draklor?
Smarty
12-28-2009, 12:55 PM
After Draklor would be before Giruvegan and I already said that. It’s wrong.
Nope… and, well, Smarty, it’s not exactly the same thing, because what you said would imply "after Rafflesia" as well.
Niether are correct anyway.

I suppose…
And I really think you should give this one up. Personally I’ve been searching the whole internet for clues on what you may be asking. At first, it was just out of curiosity and I figured if I did find the answer I wouldn’t post it. But I honestly can’t figure out what you want to hear! This is a nice question indeed.
I actually thought that the high seraph got it right. But after you said it wasn’t, I really don’t know what you may be asking.
Slavka
12-28-2009, 11:47 PM
I’m going to say after receiving Lente’s Tear – this is the earliest time you can reach Paramina Rift to get Damascus Steel from Anchag. And obviously, this is after obtaining the Dawn Shard, which means that Mosphoran and beyond is also open.
Soon ๐
And I’m not giving this one up, seeing as a lot of you seem to be thinking on the right track and one of the guesses was really close.
And what I’m looking for is simply what the last mandatory event/boss/foot-setting-in thing you have to do, before everything you need to make the Tournesol becomes available on an infinite level (as opposed to Hunt rewards, I mean, you get a Serpent Eye after beating Marlith, but that’s not good enough as it’s only one). Like in your "before Giruvegan" guess, "after Rafflesia" would have been what I was looking for, since you need to do that to access that part of the Feywood, which is a little different from merely "after Draklor".
But anyway Smarty, keep searching whatever it is. Considering the guesses that have been submitted so far, I do have faith that someone will get it. It’s just, this is the kind of question I’d rather avoid giving hints on unless asked something.
EDIT: Slavka, good thinking, but incorrect… you’re missing something… not gonna say if it’s too early or too late.

Hmm. In that case, I would say straaight after Draklor, since that’s the time the Phon Coast Hunt Club becomes available, and you need Vorres, a trophy rare game, to appear for the Soul Powder. But since that’s already been taken…
Where else can you get Soul Powder? Ixtab, but that’s only one. Even if I get the Empyreal Soul from Montblanc, in which case I need to obtain the High Guardian clan rank, I still need to make two more, each requiring Soul Powder…
Eh, I give up for now. Maybe I’ll get a brainwave later.

No, keep thinking… you can get the Sandalwood chop before Draklor but it has nothing to do with the Hunt Club.
Smarty
12-30-2009, 01:27 PM
I’m positive that this has something to do with the Soul Powders. Everything else can be obtained long before Giruvegan or Draklor or whatever.
Hey are you sure you need to visit the Hunt Club owner to make Trophy RG’s appear? Because I think I remember fighting Aspidochelon on Cerobi Steppe before I visited him.
I believe you do have to visit the Hunt Club owner to make them appear. You won’t get any trophies before getting Thalassinon’s.
But yeah, you are all very warm.
For the record Slavka missed the fact that Soul Powders can be gotten infinitely from Etems as well, which are obviously way later in the part of the Henne Mines you can’t go until you have 10 Espers, so obviously not that. But yes, that, Vorres, and Ixtab hunt (which is limited so not qualified for this question) are the only ways to get Soul Powder.
But, when exactly is the earliest? You are all missing something BIG… though judging from your posts and Slavka’s, my guess would be that you simply didn’t know this. As I promised I’ll state the answer in a few hours.
Okay, as it has been 24 hours… I’ll tell the answer.
You guys are correct about Soul Powder’s being the last thing to become available and mark the earliest point, because everything else, a few of which were guessed, can mostly be accessed on an infinite level after the Dawn Shard, after Lente’s Tear (Damascus Steel or Hell’s Gate Flame), and after the Phon Coast gate is repaired (Serpent Eye, that’s when the shrines become active and you can reach Grey Molter).
And since Slavka was the first to mention that fact that you need Vorres, I’ll give her the question. As I said, she was correct about the limited ways to obtain Soul Powder, and you do need to start the Hunt Club event in order to get it to appear.
BUT… none of you (surprisingly) seemed to know when you can start the Hunt Club. It first becomes available not by having been through Draklor, and not by having gotten the Sandalwood Chop either. The Hunt Club first becomes available as soon as you beat the "???" fake mark, that being the Mandragoras in Sochen Cave Palace. And you have to do that anyway. After you beat the Mandragoras, you can backtrack to Phon Coast which isn’t too far back, and activate it. Which would mark the earliest Tournesol.
Anyway, Slavka, this is yours.

Battle gear in Nalbina (Intro)
Prisoner gear in Nalbina Dungeon/Barheim (1st time in Barheim)
Fresh outfit in Lowtown after getting back to Rab from Barheim (where he joins your party)
The ending cinema where he is guarding Larsa (in his brothers place)
I think that’s it, but it feels like I’m missing one.

Espers that can break the dmg limit, I think they are: Zeromus, Zodiark, Ultima, Chaos.
Also: Can’t poison do that against enemies with REALLY high hp? In theory it should.

01-26-2010, 06:28 PM
Shemhazai and Exodus can break it with their final attacks also. Ultima and Chaos can’t I don’t think
Balance can break the damage limit if your HP is low enough and you have bubble on
Numerology can as well if you’re lucky
I think Arise also does when the KO’ed character is wearing a bubble belt (Serenity makes it go mega high)
Uh…I can’t think what else there could be…unless you’d count Renew…

I didn’t know that Gilgamesh ruled any city

In the actual Epic of Gilgamesh, he was the king of Uruk. He was 2/3 god and 1/3 human, and oppressed the people he ruled over until they cried out for help to the gods. The gods create a primitive man, Enkidu, who is covered in hair and lives in the wild with the animals. Enkidu is then taken to a shepherd’s camp where he soon becomes the camp’s night watchman. While here, he hears of the stuff Gilgamesh is doing and takes off to Uruk to intervene at a wedding. When Gilgamesh is just about to invoke his "lord’s right" on the bride, Enkidu blocks his way and the two start to fight. Finally, Enkidu acknowledges Gilgamesh’s superior strength, the battle ends, and they become friends.

06-27-2012, 02:47 AM
From what I remember, some of the ‘pass FF final boss’ Esper names were changed or mistranslated slightly, so I’ll add their ‘original’ names as well next to them:
Chaos (FFI)
Mateus (FFII – apparently this is what Emperor Palamecia’s real name is)
Famfrit (FFIII – I’ve heard this refers to the Cloud of Darkness somehow, but I have no idea if that’s true or not. In any event, it was also one of the Totemas from FFTA but I included it here as relevant to this question)
Zeromus (FFIV)
Exodus (FFV – a literal transliteration of ‘X-death’)
Ultima (FFT – in the original PSX version of FFT ‘Altima’ was in fact Ultima badly mistranslated)

But you want like items, not Gil
For your answer?
I would assume knot of rust cause those things were everywhere.
Enkidoh
06-28-2012, 01:13 PM
That is indeed correct. A Knot of Rust is indeed one of the possible items that can be gained from that urn, but only if you have the Diamond Armlet equipped. Another item you can get with the Armlet equipped is an Ether. Without the Armlet, it’s indeed just gil, or otherwise just a Potion or Eye Drops. Interestingly it is an equal 50/50 chance you’ll get either one of those items or gil.
