Well…post. How do you say them?

I’ve always said Tidus as "Teedus".

Kiros as "Keer-os"
Zidane as "Zi-dain"
Eiko as "I-ko"
Freya as "Fray-ah"
Cait Sith as "Kate-sith"
And the one I never tryed to say… Locke. I always avoided saying his name because I could never figure it out.
Laguna: Lagoonuh
Shiva: Sheva, just like the namesake goddess.
Yuffie: Youffee
Kiros: Keeros
Zidane: Zeedain, as to not to confuse with the french soccer player ^.^
Eiko: Iko
Freya: Fryuh, again like the namesake goddess
Ifrit: Eefryt
Kuja: Kouyah
Ramuh: Ruhmouh
Brahne: Brain
Aerith: Ehris
laguna: laguuna
kiros: kiros (as in the beginning of kit)
yuffie: youfee

Tidus- Tie-dus
Laguna- La-goo-na
Laguna – Laa – gunna
Shiva – she -vah
Yuffie – U – fee
Kiros – Kai – Rose
BTW, I’ve been wondering lately about the FFIX names, so perhaps if people would care to share their thoughts on some of those. Here’s how I do those:
Zidane – "Zie Dane" (rhymes with tie)
Eiko – "Eye Co."
Adelbert – "Add – uhl – bert" Steiner – "Stye ner"’
Freya – "Fray-a"
Vivi – "Vihvee"

I did. look up at my post. 😛
Since Shiva is a Indian God ( I think) i say like shivuh
Irvine—> I say like Ir vine, but i know people that say Ir Vin
Aeris-Ea-ri-su(with silent u)
Tifa-Ti-pa(no f sound in Korean language)
Laguna-Lah-gu-na
Eiko-Ee-ko
Zidane-Chi-da-nae(no z sound either)
Freya-Fray-ah
Locke-Lah-kae
Tidus-Tee-dus
Irvine-Er-veen
Sephiroth-Sei-pi-ro-chu(silent u)
Steiner-Stae-ner
Nah. My TV is usualy on Comedy Central. Lately I’ve been playing FFVII:AC over and over.
Freya: Fray-a
Eiko: E(Just say it like the latter e) Co
Steiner: Stee ner
(it’s all about phonetics, y’know)
Eiko – "Eye Co."
Adelbert – "Add – uhl – bert" Steiner – "Stye ner"’
Freya – "Fray-a"
Vivi – "Vihvee"
I’ve always pronounced it:
Zidane – "Zih dane" ("zih" like the "mi" in "mitt") – I can’t gaurentee "accuracy"
Eiko – "Ay co" ("ay" as in the end of "hay." That would be the correct way to say the Japanese name Eiko, so I assume it’s correct here :P)
Adelbert, Steiner, Freya – same as you
Vivi – "vee vee" (While there is no "v" sound in Japanese (they use "b" instead), I think it’s safe enough to assume that Vivi is pronounced as if it were in Japanese – both "vi"s being pronounced exactly the same way. Since Japanese syllables that end with "i" are pronounced "ee" (like the end of Monkey), I assume that applies to Vivi as well)
Interesting thing to note (well it might not be, but I’m in a typing mood :P) the Korean "Aeris" that Chrons posted is exactly the same as the Japanese "Aeris" – Earisu. Which is also why both "Aeris" and "Aerith" are correct translations, as the "su" can be either or. The "su" is more commonly used instead of a "th" sound at the end of a word, though, since there is no "th" in Japanese – for instance, my name (Seth) directly translated to Japanese is "Sesu." Names like "James" end with a "zu" as it more accurately represents the sound.

I have known people say "Baa-ha-moot"
Sounds about like how I say, except that first syllable sounds like maybe how a sheep might say it, I’d say it like "buh." (rhymes with "uh")

quistis trepe – kee-stees trep
