(if this is in the wrong section, …oops. >_<)
But yeah. Lament of Innocence is fantastic. I love the character design, and the controls are so wonderfully smooth.
The last boss is freakin’ impossible, though.
BEAT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyways, I have yet to play the game… but if you like Metroid Style games, you should try the Gameboy Advance and PSX Castlevania games.
On it’s own this is a great game, but compared to Symphony of the Night it’s a bit of a let down.
I simply adore the gameplay and fantastic music! I wish I had the full version ;_;
Oh, and Death was easy to kill *nods at Khyros*.
And I only had the Vampire Killer whip, and the white bishop relic at my disposal and the armor you get at the beginning of the game. What with the subweapons being useless against him and all. I know there are other relics, but I didn’t bother tracking them down. To tell the truth, Walter was more difficult to beat than Death.
Didn’t access that boss in that prison, either (at the bottom of that long-ass stairwell).
Liked the combos system and all, though. Longest combo I got was something like 25 hits, thanks to the Falcon Claw or whatever against an aerial enemy. Aerial whip combo followed immediately by hammering the X button until the enemy hit the ground. ๐
And while we’re talking about it, what the hell kind of name for a final vampiric boss is "Walter" anyway?
And Joachim was fun for all of five minutes… just not versatile enough of a character.
Haven’t played as Pumpkin, though. How’s that go, use @Pumpkin at the naming screen?
Where is this Hidden superboss?

I took out Walter almost effortlessly, but for the life of me, I can’t beat Death. I had a talk with some kid in a gaming store about it, and he gave me some pointers, but I still failed miserably.
Whenever he threw the scythe, I’d double jump, same goes for the little spell he casts towards the end with the little pillar of fire that hits you.
Hidden boss gives the black orb, eh? Well, how do I get into the prison? I’ve beaten Death, but then it’s game end and you can’t very well backtrack, then. Also gone there from the gamesave where I saved the completion data, so what do I do?
I’d like to fight this hidden boss. And yeah, Green Orb + Cross is the shit. Though I prefered the one that gave me the Micheal’s Sword attack when I fought Walter, if only because it made that battle that much faster.
Another thing for the Death strategy that I forgot, the Fire Ring or whatever it’s called works wonders in strengthening your defense against him. Ice Whip works great, too.
As for that IV block, explore a little more. You’ll find a room with a save point, and directly across from that room is a room with a place for you to put the IV block. Pull the lever to flip it over, then take it back to the room with the sequence of numbers in it, place it. It’ll open a door and you get to go in and fight a mini boss of sorts, if I remember right.
Khyros, I know where he is, I’ve been there. It says the door is sealed when I try to go in. Where is the key to the door? Or do I have to have 100% completion in all the other stages before I can go in that room?

I found that out before reading this.. I was like.. "oooooooooooooh no duh! I’m so stupid!!!" *hits self*
I NEED HELP–I need the red pheonix key in order to get the Wolf’s Foot so I can run across that collapsing bridge in the Anti-soul Mysterious Lab. I need to get the Red Pheonix key in the Garden level..but I don’t know where to find all the switches to the Triangle glowing-thingies in the door(I alreayd got the door that looks like a centipede). But I don’t know where to find the switches for the door to get the red pheonix key. Can someone tell me where I can find all the switches?
I just completed the Garden Forgotten by Time yesterday, kinda noticed those doors by accident. ๐
Found the white orb, as well. Though it isn’t really that useful except with the Crystal sub-weapon.
Need to find the key to the Unknown whatever’s chamber…
Equip the Fire Ring, Bloody Cape, and Draupnir for Walter (did you find the Tool bag or whatever? It lets you equip 3 accessories).
Fire Ring, Draupnir, and another attack enhancing accessory for Death.
Either Invincibiliy Jar relic or Wolf’s foot in the Death fight, be sure to save your MP for that fight as Walter really doesn’t require the use of a relic to defeat.
The Black Orb + Knife/Crystal works great with Walter, as does White Orb +Crystal. No subweapons work on Death at all. Period. Don’t even try them.
Have plenty of Hi-potions and other health restoring items at the top of your item list, and the menu readily selected instead of popping up at the equip menu or whatever when you use the right analog stick.
The most effective combo I’ve found is the old Triangle, Triangle, jam on the Square button deal. Does the most damage. That’s about all the tips I’ve got on it.
Oh, and make sure you have the Sun Plate armor or whatever it’s called.
I explored one more time last night and found the jewel, Khyros, thanks. And that monster in there was a pushover… I can’t believe how easy that was for all the trouble it was to get the key. Though the Black Orb is awesome.
