pretty hilarious.
did sony ever officially state what the msrp would be for games, by the way?
or
Wii, with all the controllers, and 12-15 games, for $1000
However, for me, playing FFXII, XIV and whatever may come is worth it.
or
Wii, with all the controllers, and 12-15 games, for $1000
Or new computer, or car, or shotgun and sidearm…
Do Sony really see that as a realistic price?
Does Sony have a firm grasp of reality?
Anyway, I suspect 899 or 999 for the US bundle.
Id prefer a shotgun and sidearm to fulfill my murderous ways anyday.
looks like im going to be sucking some wii
Do Sony really see that as a realistic price?
Well, why shouldn’t they? It’s not like there’s no precedent for it! Just think back to the CD-I.

i don’t know if anyone has said this, because i can’t be stuffed reading this thread, but the bluray drive costs something around $1000 anyway, and the bluray drive is the PS3 drive, plus the graphics, frekkin’ hell
And if you can’t be stuffed reading the thread, I would recommend not being stuffed replying, either.
maybe some spoiled kid will get one for christmas and not like it. resulting me finding one in the trash on my way to the bus stop that morning. or a more likely scenerio of them underpricing it on ebay. or.. who am i kidding, let’s go rob that lorry.
what’s with the bundle? "The three games included are Warhawk, Formula One 06, and SingStar–perfect for gamers who like air combat, driving, and karaoke games." (Gamespot, 2006). not perfect for anybody else, especially ppl who seek storyline. i’m not too fond of any of those games.. in fact, watching ppl play war games, driving and singing doesn’t really appeal to me at all.
i could just drive with my story-telling veteran neighbour to the karaoke bar after rush-hour traffic, and have twice as much fun! bleh to sony, you disappoint me.

Fuck the blue ray! DVDs does the job of storing games just fine for now, there is no real need to bloat games to a million gigabytes of polygon data. And to extrapolate on what TK said, you can go get stuffed.
looks like im going to be sucking some wii
haha lol
would be pretty suicidal if they would do it tho
No, there’s no substance to that, it’s just a dumb rumor that a bunch of people hopped on because they were eager for some more anti-PS3 shit to sling.
just because it hasn’t been officially announced by sony doesn’t mean people just pulled it out of thin air.
it’s no secret that the video game industry is upset that they’re losing potential sales via the used game market. it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if sony does something to stop this.

Correction : ATTEMPT to stop or reduce this. Just because it was made illegal doesn’t mean it will stop happening.
I think Gamestop snuck that in there to point out how ridiculous the combination of games is.
Very true. If I were to get a PS3, there is absolutely no way Sony could stop me from buying a game from a friend.
if it’s made illegal the bulk of it will disappear. no more used PS3 games in EB, in ebay, on half.com. that’s a huge, huge chunk.
not to mention there are technical ways they could accomplish the same thing anyway.
It’s still retarded, but it’s not exactly the same as purely material property.

Last time i checked, i didn’t say that it was more affordable because of the blu-ray. I just said that because from my view it was like as if everyone was saying PS3 was a total rip off. I was just saying that it was not like sony were trying to rip everyone off, that they are trying to make the price as low as possible without lossing a lot of money.
And also about the whole can’t be stuffed thing, I was just saying that because sometimes i might miss something in a thread and say something that’s already been said.
lol thats a good example…if u buy it…it is now your property and belongs 2 u…u can sell it u can brake it u can play frisebie with your dog…the game and cd now belong 2 u. if they wanted to u shouild beable to sell it bak 2 the company so they can package it up and sell it new if they wanted 2…now every1 is happy.
about that blu-ray piece of shit…if Sony tryed lowering the price 4 all of us 2 try and make it convieniet 2 buy take out your damned blu-ray and put sumthin else in there…could som1 please tell me what this…blu-ray…is supposed 2 do?
Well, the price would be signifigantly lower if Sony hadn’t gotten the bright idea to use blu-ray. If Sony’s luck runs out now this system will end up like the Super Famicon (I think that’s the one). Sony botched the whole project by adding in some new hardware to make the games run faster and look better, but it jacked up the price and people wouldn’t have it. Imagine if that happened to Sony again. They would be out of the running completely.

Just because it wasn’t pulled out of thin air doesn’t mean there’s any reason to think it will happen.
It should come as a surprise to you if Sony tries to stop reselling of their games because they would be raping the people who sell their games right up the ass and nobody is crazy enough to do that, not even the same retards who thought that they could get away with selling the Phillips CD-I at $1000.

My point was that just because a person may be getting their money’s worth for a PS3, it doesn’t mean that they are going to buy one. I don’t doubt I’d be getting my money’s worth if I bought a $2,000 Gibson SG, but I don’t have $2,000, and if I did it would be going towards car insurance and school tuition. Sony can fill the PS3 with as many things as it wants and "make the price as low as possible without lossing a lot of money," but if the price is still $1,000 for a complete package, people are still not going to be able to afford it. End of story.
Nobody’s accusing them of ripping anybody off. We’re accusing them of pricing their system at a point where a huge chunk of their user base can’t buy one.
more people would want it if the package included games everybody wanted. but they need to make more money at the beginning, so on top of the grand you’re spending, you pay a bit more to buy three more games you actually will play.

good point, thanks for correcting me.
It was in an article I read somewhere that they were thinking of doing that. Then a shit load of comments on this article were talking about it would be stupid because then they can’t rent any games, get rid of the crappy games without throwing it away, can’t borrow friends games, etc. So in the end, I think it would be an incredibly stupid move. Don’t get me wrong that I want the PS3 more than the stupid Wii (never was a big fan of Nintendo) or 360. But if everything goes to shit for the PS3, even after the price drops to a more reasonable amount, then I’ll get the Xbox 360.
He lost all of his damn points for that comment.
Wii is the gayest name ever…who the hell calls a system wii? wii is the sound u make wen u go down a slide…revolution is much better…wat was the reasoning 4 changing it 2 wii?
Also, next time you think about replying to anything I say with that kind of pathetic grammar, just fuck off instead.
Revolution is a pretentious sounding name anyways.
YES!!!! my thoughts exactly
Yes. Backwards compatibility is one the only things going for it right now.
I’ve grown to accept Wii, I’ve grown to believe its a great name for their console. They are appealing to more than the traditional gamer. They are appealing to the non-gamer as well, so they want to get everyone involved. And since this console is unique from the other two, Nintendo is saying that ‘Wii’ (not just the console but the company themselves), is going to take gaming into the next generation of fun.
So now I’m not intitled to my own opinion? Or are you just revoking my rights as a human being. Man, that makes you cool now doesn’t it?
There’s a difference between being entitled to an opinion, and just being a dumbass.
Kind of like bitching about the pricing when they are already undercutting production costs for the thing by nearly 50%.
And concerning the "OH NO WE WON’T BE ABLE TO RESELL THE GAMES" bullshit–that already happens with every single PC game on the market, yet it flourishes among those that play them. Come off it.
I’d be surprised if it didn’t, what with the much smaller price-tag and a few decent games in the works.
There’s more than a few decent games in the works my friend. And a lot of people seem to be forgetting all the old Nintendo games that you’ll be able to play on the Wii.
<3 <3 <3
You may have the right to say that, but everyone has just as much right to kiss you upside the head with the dipshit baseball bat for saying that.
PLAY.COM is selling the bundle. not sony. THEY are probobly trying to make a few extra bucks on something they probobly think will be in high demand and low supply.
It will also cost Sony double that amount to produce the hardware alone, what is your point?
not to mention there are technical ways they could accomplish the same thing anyway.
We have shops here called Gamestation, Game and Computer exchange to name a few. That sell new games. But also have a large range of traded in games. Are these also becoming illegal to sell?
to line up in a row, and get thier faces melted by a flame thrower, then tied to the back of a truck and draged 10 miles down a bumpy stone road. Then thier remains will be fed to the dog who has tape worm! Ha Ha Ha.(Ok, mabye that was a little harsh…… Nah!)
Customers don’t give a shit what it costs to produce the hardware.
