And selling Jap PSPs to Euro players is not right in any way. If im not mistaken PSP has regions right?
And i take back the "not right in any way" 🙂
one of the few maddox posts I’ve actually enjoyed quite a bit.
It’s ignorant people like you who allow companies like Sony to get away with this.
Fact 1: The PSP (and the PS3 for that matter) is region free for games. Movie UMDs are sometimes region coded (I say sometimes because I have some Region 4 UMDs that work in my Region 1 PSP, but some that don’t).
Fact 2: Lik-Sang were a professional company, who informed customers of the Region of the console, and what adapters etc were required to use it.
Remember that the PSP came out in Japan a number of months before the US, and it came out a year before Europe and Australia. I got my PSP from Lik-Sang, and since then, I have gotten most of my imported games from them, until Sony shut them down.
Luckily there are other importers out there, but for those of us in Australia who don’t want to wait 6-12 months for a game, import companies and region-free consoles are godsends. The only thing this is hurting Sony in is profit, because European and Australian gamers get ripped off. Prices of games are nearly twice as much here as they are in the US.
It disgusts me that the minute Sony realizes that gamers all over the world are getting treated fairly and paying the same price, that they move in to stop it happening.
