Parasite Eve: The 3rd Birthday (A. K. A. Parasite Eve 3)

It’s been a long time coming, but it looks like SquareEnix have finally decided to go on another mitochondrial romp with Aya Brea.

Called "Parasite Eve: The 3rd Birthday", (it’s not called Parasite Eve 3 because they stated it’s not a direct sequel….uh what? Your guess is as good as mine here.) it pits miss Brea and the rest of the CTI team against a new threat called "the Twisted".Not much details out so far except a few trailers and snippets of info. Aya’ is in her Mid-30s at this point of the game though she still looks like she’s in her early 20s. (man I’m starting to know that feeling too.) This is due to her own awakened Mitochondria and powers.
As to why she is in a Wedding Dress in the trailer and what happened to some of the other characters from PE1 and 2 are unknown at this time.

I’ll post more information as there is more details. at this point though, there is no set release date just like the various FF XIII games in the pipeline right now.

Good news. I’m enjoyed both games, but I thought because it didn’t sell like Final Fantasy, that SQ-E abandon it. Now if only they did a Einhander and Vangrant Story 2 sequel. Too bad it’s on the PSP though. Hopefully, this game will sell enough to have a full current-gen sequel for the Xbox360. Them putting this game on the PSP, is their way of testing the waters IMO.

I’m glad it’s on PSP, but I want to play it on a nice sized controller and full screen. Rather than that 4 inch screen, but I’m happy nonetheless. I am looking forward to it.

Jeff, PSPs have a cord that can plug into your TV.

Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters also got a PS2 port. But unless we see a Crisis Core port, I won’t be expecting a 3rd Birthday port.

Crisis Core actually surprised me (In a good way) and is by far one of the best PSP titles I’ve come across this year.

Actually CC is a solid game. The combination of Square and Enix has made a lot of nice games. The gameplay is solid. The story is still FFVII, but yeah.

Square Enix usually means "less gameplay, but higher production values." Which usually means more video than game (Hello Kingdom Hearts II)

Shitty example. Shitty arguement. I have yet to see a SE game with "more video than game." If you think KH2 had a lot of video, you must have A.D.D.

Yeah, but you have Final Fantasy XII, which was more gameplay and less video. The production values on Square games have always been high, in most cases.

Crisis Core was ok. They did do a great job on the gameplay, but adding Genesis to the story, and the plot holes really messed it all up for me.

CC was actually pretty fun.

The story tho…Genesis did turn it into crap.

Parasite Eve was awesome up to the point where I tried to change disks and found my second disk didn’t work. Thanks, ebay.

I never played the second because I heard it wasn’t very good, so I don’t really know how to feel about this. Good to see them reviving some old franchises, I guess.

OK boys and girls, I’m back from my outing and… Holy shit! What the hell is going on here!? Looks like you have made quite a mess here, Mr. Knegative. Lol! While I do find the CC comments amusing let’s try to keep this thread slightly on topic, shall we?

Well, control-wise, I haven’t heard much except there’s going to be some sort of overdrive bar for P.E. powers I assume, and the system of movement and combat is supposed to be somewhat different to the games of the past. how much so, I do not know.

As for PE 2, I have played through both 1 and 2 and I can tell you while Parasite Eve 2 is a good and fun game to play, it definitely has a different feel to it. To try to put it into perspective, Imagine PE1 as Silent Hill and PE 2 as Resident Evil 4. Not a completely accurate comparison per Se, but it does give you the idea of the different moods of two games set in the same type of genre.I do recommend playing them both.

As a side note, I really wish they would do Einhinder 2, so they could put a pinball machine with the name on it in this game, just like how the did with the Original Einhinder game in PE 2.

P.S. Sorry about your disk 2 not working ToO. PE is worth playing through, If just for the multi-tier final boss battle with the increasingly epic and kickass final boss music that occompanies it, although the rest of the game kicks ass too.

i havent been more bored with a final fantasy game than CC.

even crystal chronicles for the nGC was more fun to play (me and 3 buddies finished it in one day, it was one hell of a ride)
