I have a humble request. Make that two. Chrno Crusade, in my opinion, is one hell of an awesome series, and its manga is simply adorable, with one of the finest drawing styles and greatest over-all drawing quality that I can find anywhere…
So, in case you don’t own it yet, go buy it. The first volume has been released in English, under the name Chrono Crusade, so I heard.
And here’s my original request: If you happen to own this manga, can you tell me something about its quality? The coloured pages ought to be in there. How’s the printing quality? What do the soundwords look like? (Did they keep the Japanese soundwords or did they change them, if so, do they look okay?)
And especially: What’s the translation like? Does it sound good? Could you give me a few example sentences? How were the names transcribed?
All this stuff I want to know, but I guess no matter what you reply, I’m going to buy the American version anyway. There’s just no way it could be worse than what Carlsen Comics did to the German translation. MY DUCK COULD DO BETTER!
I really like the serie too. After book five, it got really awesome. The art and drawings are really nice. In a very good quality.
Well, am still waiting for book 6XD. And Chrono is suck a bishi in devil mode!!
Does it have anything to do with Chrono Trigger, or is the name just a coincedence?
The story, however, is totally different.
The main characters are Rosette, a young, very energetic nun, and her companion Chrno. The two belong to an order that is devoted to hunting demons, but why and how exactly they wound up with this order is impossible to explain without spoilering a cool flashback…
There’s definitely more to the innocent-looking, childlike Chrno than meets the eye. In fact, he is a demon himself, but still Rosette’s friend. He appears as a child most of the time, because his powers are sealed in a sort of watch. Using them also uses up the soul of the human hat he has a contract with… Yeah, well, you can figure it out yourself.
There’s an underlying darkness, but thanks to very optimistic, loveable characters, this is absolutely bearable. ^^ (Or it makes it worse, I don’t know.)
If you think the story sounds dull, well, trust me that it’s not. ^^
