as i can remember i love D he is so great i watched the first movie years ago then i played for sure the ps game and then 2000 the second movie ^^ did you also heared that idea for the the movie blade I came because of Vampire Hunter D?
i really like the way i what the second movie is drawn.
but i also love the story of the first movie and in some ways the "first" D is cooler as the "second". That do you also think of the D thema?
At any rate, I like both the Vampire Hunter D movies very much, but Bloodlust is my favorite- I really love the way that it ends.
The game sucked. Completely. Utterly. Boundlessly even.
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust was a joint American/Japanese project and was originally released in English. I don’t remember where it was actually animated though.
A little sidenote: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is based on the first of a series of novels. The first movie was based on the third novel.
yeps there are that vampire hunter D novels and the movies based on it. i think the game was good just think about the time when it was made.
who is your favorit "bad" person in Vampire Hunter D?

Ah. That must have been what I read about then.
I don’t suppose there’s any chance of finding the novels translated into English, is there? I’d love to read them.
Sorry dude… I played it when it was new, and it was bad then. Horrible controls.

I wish.
nope as much as i know you wont get the novel on english i would also love to read it :/.
and i always thought of how the japanis voice of D is ^.^.
have you seen van hellsing? dont you stink the guy looks at the beginning much like D in the first Movie?

What type of game was it? Turn-based, adventure, platformer, hack’n’slash? I can’t imagine it anyway else.

It was action-adventure-ish. I’ve never played it though, only read up on it.
I’d like to track it down someday, even though the game sounds pretty awful. It would be fun to use PSMplay and get the movies.
heard anything of a new movie yet?
I saw Vampire Hunter D only two days ago, so it’s kind of fun I found this thread. (This will be my first post here on FF-Shrine.) However, I loved the movie, just because D was in it. He is really cool, and if it wasn’t for him, this movie would only be a ‘movie-you-have-to-see-at-least-once’, or so to say. I have Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust actually, but I haven’t taken myself the time to see it… Should I? If we compare the illustration-capacity, we all agree the quality of the second movie far surpasses the first one, agreed? < ^o^ > That makes the second one more attractive in my opinion. The first movie had a sort of a dark setting to it, which I didn’t like in the first place. If it is something I really do love about the movie(s) it would be the music, though. Really… Awesome.
And by the way; Blade was NOT based on any of these movies/novels.
You should definitely take the time to see Bloodlust. In my opinion, it’s better then the first D movie.
Definitely. Hands down. The first one was only mildly entertaining for me, but Bloodlust was nothing short of a masterpiece.
hmm maybe i should watch the second movie again i just like D
^.^ . if you liked the first movie you will love the second!
i love watching the end of the first movie over and over again when i want to sleep that music is just to fine.
What kind of holes?
I’d have to watch it again to tell you exactly, I haven’t seen it in a year plus, if I manage to pull myself off my ass to watch it I’ll come back and tell you.:)
good that youre here *g*
youre right.
you think there is any chance to get a transaltion of the D novels?
hehehe it seems like i always mix the stuff @Park

Translations of novels generally suck… Look at the translation for the popular Battle Royale novel for instance… reading that is like reading an instruction manual; any of the magic in description is lost in translation.
Your best bet at reading it is to learn Japanese.;)
That said the animation and action scenes are beautiful. Very nicely done.
I disagree completely with you, but that was definitely well said.
Not that I find that to be a bad thing, mind you.
Also, Blade was an american comic book character for years, had several crossover comics with Spiderman and others long before the Vampire Hunter D movies were made.
Plus, I’m sure the Japanese look at the Blade rubbish and laugh heartily at it’s lack of style.
