ITT: the cancer that is killing the shr…WAIT, NO… thats not it, thats for another time..
ITT: what do you consider to be the worst opening and ending in anime? adio -and video included
to me, they have to be:
death note 2nd opening… HADES! such a blatant display of faggotry and incoherence!
not to mention the totally unfitting music… at first i thought i was looking at a north american opening of death note. i hate it so much i decided to replace it with the first opening.
and the fact the ending is as much failure as the opening, ill replace it too
cybaster:
a bad opening for a bad anime, yeah, it figures.. what i hate the most its that it probably had more action than in the entire series…
gunsmith cats.
im not sure about this one, being a huge GSC fan myself, but when i bought the dubbed vhs off a store, the opening was just some sort of improvised jazz, and i didnt like that, but if that its just another failure of USA to nationalize anime, then ill have to get the subbed one.
an honorary mention goes to samurai shamploo, but just because of the hideous rap.
i kinda like it, yet at the same time loathe it, weird, isnt it?
post yours!

Gunsmith Cats takes place in Chicago, part of the USA. If you were a huge fan, you would know that. I have all the Manga’s and the Anime’s expect EP Zero. So the American jazz opening makes perfect sense. Also, I liked the Samurai Champloo opening rap.
IMO – the worst opening I ever saw was for the american subbed version of Card Captor Sakura, excuse me, Card Captors.
It’s just… bah! And bah means very very bad.
And I also HATE the opening of Lucky Star. That was just bad. Made my ears bleed.
I agree with catastrophe: the second opening of Death Note wasn’t as good as the first. But I wouldn’t say that it was the worst.

i also have the mangas, but not the edited US ones, where may is 18 (among other things), i have a spanish translated where she is 17.
and i know the setting is in chicago, however, i heard a song which was credited as gunsmith cats japanese opening, heard it in several sites, and it sounded better than the vocalless jazz

At the moment, Death is the only anime opening I mute. I am not a metal fan.
But Lucky Star? I liked it best with the animation, but now it’s in my playlist.
man when will these guys realize, if u have a good op don’t change it…same with code geass and colors being replaced by…um…crap
but on the other hand if they never replaced op’s in long shows like bleach u would never get great songs like technolife or w/e, so i’ll keep my whining to a minimum
But the ending to The Melancoly of Haruhi Suzumiya is WEAK. I’m sorry, it is
Niea under 7 y Cowboy Bebop, sus Openings no los soporto ^^
Los peores endings que he oido son los de Saint Seiya Hades:Sanctuary y Elisium.
Ah!! casi me olvidaba!!! El ending Japones de Astroboy (2003) Me quedaba dormiiiiiiido….

Speak English or die.
It’s sure going to be a barren wasteland without you here, whoever you are.
im from and live in mexico, and i realized this was a english speaking forum before even entering it.
what the hell is wrong with you?
The world is far bigger than the U.S. and spanish is among the most spoken languages, if people want to speak spanish, don’t complain……geez…………
Anyways, Kenshin Himura’s first season opening had some alright animation, but the music was enough to make me puke.
…said the fan of Japanese entertainment, on a board specifically dedicated to same.
Hypocritical much?
That said, this is an English-speaking forum. If a monolingual English-speaking American went into a Spanish-speaking forum and started blathering, he’d be called out just the same, and deserve it. Doesn’t matter where you’re from… "when in Rome, act as the Romans do."
Hypocritical much?
You don’t have much of an eye for sarcasm, do you? You also make some pretty huge assumptions. I don’t like Japanese entertainment any more than any other sort.
Also, stupidity quoted in case of edit.
In case you haven’t noticed, such subtleties tend to get lost when dealing in a text-based mode of communication (short of narrative form). As for assumptions, I made none… other than, perhaps, the logical one that you are, indeed, a fan of Japanese games and anime. The very fact that you’re here implies this. This is borne out by your post count, which suggests that you are something of a regular here. That doesn’t imply you like it more than any other sort. I didn’t call you an otaku, or fanboy, or anything else demeaning.

Uh-oh, I’m in trouble now. Perhaps if you were dealing with someone who didn’t have the courage of his convictions, it might be troubling. But alas, not so much. I stand by what I said. Your post, taken as written, was hypocritical (if not outright racist). I’ll make no apologies.
Point taken about the lack of demeaning comments, but practically anyone would look at my post and tell that my intent was to humorously state that only English is acceptable for communicating here. It really is pretty dumb to not see that.

Cry me a river and drown in it.
This discussion is now over. Attempt to continue it and I will start deleting posts.
If you say so. But I don’t know you from Adam, so how am I to know you have a propensity for sarcastic vulgarity? (And I’m not being snide there, just to make it perfectly clear.) Generally speaking, one can only take one’s words at face value, without context, and you provided none. Not even a 😉 to offset the apparent sentiment.

If you feel the need, be my guest. I don’t believe it to be called for, as I’m not trolling. I feel I’m making a perfectly reasonable point, without resorting to ad hominem attacks or deliberately trying to further raise your ire. If you feel this is, as you put it, "dumb," then that’s your prerogative.
Your deficiencies are no concern of mine.
FYI… that is a perfect example of an ad hominem attack. You sidestep the actual point of discussion to take a facile and unprovoked jab at my intelligence. There’s no need to resort to sophomoric insults. My point remains the same. Were you to voice your original statement aloud, and one didn’t know you were being facetious, you’d be called on it. You may subscribe to the "It’s only the internet" outlook, but FYI, I do not.
So now, we understand each other, and no harm done (hypothetically). I know not to take such comments from you at face value in the future. I will pursue the issue no further, so no more need be said… right?
