1) duplicate soundtrack listings. please link to each alternate version of a duplicate listing. it’ll be removed eventually. this is greatly appreciated as it gives us more space on our servers.

2) skipping, corrupted songs. report EXACTLY what the problem is; ie, "this file becomes static at 3:12. it can be found on this page."

3) missing songs from a soundtrack. songs are only considered missing if it’s got track numbers and there are gaps (ie, 1, 2, 5, 6 or something). if songs are missing after a full sequence (say there are 5 songs, but there should be 8) you MUST link to either a full tracklist for an official soundtrack.

any help’s appreciated. it may take a while to get to these problems, but I will get to them eventually. right now priority is given to dupe listings. anyone willing to go through and find as many dupe listings as possible would be doing a huge, huge favor for me <3

Pretty much all files skip many times during playback, and up to 1 minute of actual song is missing in most of them. I redownloaded at least 3 times to be sure.

Didn’t notice any problems on this one.

2: Anthrax- Bring the noise
Minor skipping, mostly unnoticeable.

3: RATM- Guerilla Radio
Lots of skipping and missing sections. It starts here =-O

4: NBN- Pin the Tail in the Donkey
Skips at least 5 times during playback, always and in the same places (most around the middle of the track)

5: Bad Religion- You
Skips right at the beginning, again at the middle, and "ends" before the end of playback time.

6: Powerman 5000- When Worlds Collide
Also skips right within the first minute, again at the middle (with this weird beep sound) and ends before the actual playback time.

7: Millencollin- No Cigar
The same as the 2 above. Almost no song at all 🙁

Skips right at the 1st seconds, and within the last. Also fades out before actual end.

Most of the songs are corrupt. I mean, they "jump". and then they have sometimes other tunes in the song. For example the song "Highlands". It’s really terrible.And so are most of the songs. And I don’t think they are really that strange in natural. Nah…I know some of them…especially "Highlands".
Oh, and "Fintan’s tree" does not work at all. And "Illumination" sstops after some minutes.

I started downloading all the files one by one in the Project Gotham Racing 2 Xbox Rip, and all was fine.. I then got enough awards thingies to get the direct links, and the URLs were all dead and 404ing. I checked the one-by-one links and noticed the direct links pointed to a different subdir of the site (d3. rather than d5.).. I saved the page, did a search&replace of the source and opened the page.. The new ‘fixed’ URLs worked.. Until it got about 20 songs through, then every link 404ed – Even the ones which I had just downloaded.

So, either the files were in the process of being deleted, or deleted because I was downloading them or something, I don’t know.. :/

the d3 vs d5 thing is a bug, one that we’re working on. apologies for that.

the reason the other ones stopped working was because we restarted the server. they should work now.

You’re not the only one, I’ve seen the same thing happen also. Guess the main site is getting fixed or updated.

In the meantime, download from the "Download Links" section.

I wouldn’t worry about it, this usually happens when more soundtracks are being uploaded or for site maintenance.

I tried dling both the Shin Onimusha Dawn of Dreams OST and the Tales of the Abyss OST, but when I tried with Flashget, they don’t dl. When I try just dling one file with the ‘Save Link’ option, I get an error saying:

I have tried to download files using my credits, but the download links are sometimes not valid.
How can I tell my customers or friends come here to visit a Web site that
usually makes them disappointed with invlaid file download links.
There is no way to complain for a Web site that provides free resources,

An interesting thing I noticed though, is that both of them are the only two songs to misspell lea monde as l?a monde, which may or may not correlate to the broken files.

It is :
the sound "skips" or stops completly with those two tracks,
1. 2nd track from "Jo Hisaishi Piano stories II", it stops soon.
2. 1st track from "Wizardly V" about 3:20 second, but this is just "scratch". Not quite problem.

This happens also after re-downloadings, so I came to think it’s not just for me ? Not so big problem but with "Jo" the track is actually missimg.

I’m sorry if it’s just for me and not the problem with the site.

ps. I believe the album "Suite Wizardry II Legacy of Llylgamyn" should be positioned together with "Wizardly" sound tracks, cos it seems like it’s missing.

I’ve tried playing the file in iTunes, Creative Media Player, and Windows Media Player. I can’t even add it to my iTunes library, it refuses to play in Creative, and Windows Media Player produces a window that reads:

To further define my problem (since I didn’t see the question towards my post earlier, and it has yet to be fixed) the link to the songs go to a blank page stating "Problem with file. ps, I noticed that file #141 is missing too, only it’s called "Ah, my Goddess".

There’s something wrong with this track, you see when it hits 2:30 it skips right to the end (for no reason) but weird thing is that if you manually take it past 2:30 the song will keep on going like nothing happened…

If someone sends a link with a single mp3 on it, I download it but it doesn’t go all the way and it says download complete.

I get the file and open it, but there’s only 10/11 seconds into the song before it cuts off when the music is supposed to be longer.

There seems to be a missing album on the GH site. In an update posted quite a while ago (http://forums.ffshrine.org/showpost.php?p=533864&postcount=170), there was the soundtrack for "Space Channel 5 Part 2 Moji Moji – Can’t Stop Remix". However, I searched for this album on GH but could not find the link for it anywhere. I also tried to search the forums here but could not find any further information on this. I would really like to find out whatever became of this soundtrack.

Just a few minutes ago, I tried to download something from Sonic CD. I got a weird non-complete file saying 1 kb and an unknown download time (I’m on firefox). So, I tried another Sonic CD album. Same thing. So, I tried to download songs I know for a fact worked before, and I’m still getting the problem. It’s almost as if the entire song archive went down.

This could be a serious problem, so I’m a little worried about the future of the site if it’s something major. I just figured you should know, seeing as all the songs are pretty much dead right now. Thanks for the time and trouble to fix the problem.

Browsing through the sheet music for FFVII OST (not piano collection), I notice there are some pages missing from Cinco de Chocobo (it’s only 3 pages long, and it cuts out suddenly. At a guess, I’d say there are 2 missing pages). I assume that this is an oversight on the part of the original contributor and thus should be very easily fixable. Could someone please reupload that with the missing pages included? Thanks.

I think it has to do with the server those tracks are in, since there is another website that also uses that server (http://dl1. …) and I can’t download from that site .

Edit: Upon trying to "Open" one of the "bad" tracks instead of downloading, it seems to play normally, indicating to me that it was just a bad download… This might be what I get for trying to open download windows for each part of the soundtrack… Heh. My bad.
Edit2: Okay, I’ve re-downloaded the "bad" tracks, and the majority of them are fixed now, but there are two tracks that I’ve re-downloaded at least 5 times a piece, and those still aren’t working. They’re minor tracks, but it couldn’t hurt to double-check them. They are:
36 – Chinese Jingle
42 – Opening Theme

But on another note.
The ID3 tags for Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War’s soundtrack are incorrect. You list the "Artist" category in the "Album" category.

I guess it has to do with accents in the original filename replaced with ? and then with %3F as safe URL encoding, which probably create a server-side problem (tried with both FF and IE and replacing the safe URL encoding with the supposed original character).

The songs only come through one speaker, it’s Rudy, not Ruby and your missing the music when one of the players only have 3 viruses left or less.

Have been getting the same thing of and on over the last 3 days. I just go to another forum, check my or chat with a friend and try to access GH & FF Shrine a little later.

Same goes with every mp3 including a ??? for Pok???mon (like in Super Smash Bros. Melee!)

Dark Battle ends with a violent static sound at the end of the file. I have not checked the others for similar problems, however.

If there is a jpg/zip/png…. the function tries to change the ending to .mp3
So if u wanna download text.jpg then the link gives u back text.mp3. This happens allot when I tried it.

Then u cant Download files that have a "?" in the name. Guess thats a problem with the Apache Server. Maybe u can switch this char with something else?

Basically, you need to fill in the gap. For example, I wanted to download Kaze no Klonoa 2’s song "King of Sorrow’s Theme." But simply clicking on the link doesn’t work. Instead, what I do is:

right click the link,
select the option "Copy Link Location,"
create a separate tab and paste the link in the URL,
fill out the rest of the title and end it with .mp3,
and press enter.

So,

1) duplicate soundtrack listings. please link to each alternate version of a duplicate listing. it’ll be removed eventually. this is greatly appreciated as it gives us more space on our servers.

2) skipping, corrupted songs. report EXACTLY what the problem is; ie, "this file becomes static at 3:12. it can be found on this page."

3) missing songs from a soundtrack. songs are only considered missing if it’s got track numbers and there are gaps (ie, 1, 2, 5, 6 or something). if songs are missing after a full sequence (say there are 5 songs, but there should be 8) you MUST link to either a full tracklist for an official soundtrack.

hi please help i am totally new to this forum site i wish to know why i am having problems downloading vid game music all of a sudden. when i select a file to download it says opening but never anything happens. i tried contacting the gh but i was directed to forums site to register. i had no probs at all downloading music before but now it seems impossible. i tried searching for similar sites for downloading video game music but it directs me back to gh. please help or advise.

Hosting is costing us ~2,000$ a month. In addition to this, our current hosting company just filled for bankruptcy; this means we need ~2,500$ by the 1st to move to a new hosting company because setup fees will need to be payed also.

Is this a fact, or did someone hack into the site to try to leech money fraudulently? I’m 95% sure it’s the former, and that the server hosting company is in Bankruptcy. However, you can never be too sure, hense why I’m asking and not informing.

If you need to get rid of one can you get rid of "Megami Ibunroku Persona" one and not "Pesona ~be your true mind~" because that one is grouped with the other pesona albums. I know that getting rid of repeat albums helps cut costs so i wantd to help.

Always the same problem for me.
I can access to the emulated music’s page by renaming the link http://gh.ffshrine.org/egm/ to http://gh.ffshrine.org/egm.php/, but that’s all… How can I access to the emulated music for pc engine?

ive tried those steps but still no go. gh seems to be down at the moment because any music i try to access on the main page brings me to a white screen and a error 🙁

Yeah, I was thinking about GH needing donations to stay up and I had an idea (not sure if this is right thread, but I think it could help the situation)

While I was visiting VGMusic.com I noticed a donation counter on their site. Then I thought "what if GH did this…?"

The website that VGMusic.com is using is Pledgie.com, and if GH could set up an account, then everyone could see what was needed each month and (imo) it would be a lot easier to donate once I/others could see what is actually going on and how much money is needed to raise.

Just a thought…

First thing: In the "Contact us" page, I click on the link to email the staff @ GH, and I send an email to said address. The problem is that this email is no good, because my original email bounced back. It failed.

Second thing: The reason I was contacting the staff in the first place was because I can’t (for the life of me) remember either my username or my password. And I wanted to log in to my account.

And the one thing I wanted to mention was that I made a very small donation to GH. It was very small so it’s no big deal…

But, hopefully someone @ GH reads this post and is able to help me. Anyway, let me know what can be done! THANKS AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Freehaven, I get the exact same problem. It seems to me they’ve had a lot of downtime lately. I think that they’re really running out of money at this point.

Are you using Avira? The message probably says something like "There was a suspicious article detected in the hysteric" or something along the lines of that… I think GH may be viral, but they didn’t code whatever virus it is to firefox. Use firefox so you don’t get anymore issues.

I am not sure if that is intentional or not, but I thought I’d let everybody know.

It seems Fullmetal Alchemist manga 48-50 are missing

I use an iPod for all of my music, and the Silpheed OST that was uploaded here is in MP3 format. However, for some reason it won’t upload to my iTunes library, and therefore, I can’t play it.

This isn’t a blanket problem with the Silpheed music either: I have the Redbook selection and it uploads, syncs, and plays just fine.

Anybody else having this problem? Is there anything else I can do, or should the files be reuploaded or something? This has been very frustrating and I don’t know where else to turn but to the great guys on the site who ripped and uploaded the Mega CD Silpheed OST in the first place. The OST on the otherwise excellent Silpheed fansite, Topaz Squadron, doesn’t sync either.
