Enjoy!
If this is the case, I’ll be buying a headphone jack before I get the game. I had a feeling it would involve the headphone port on the DS.
Thanks for your help.
VGMTrans allows you to extract the music from a NDS Rom. I recently just made a complete music rip of Diddy Kong Racing with this.
You will also need Audacity to rip them into MP3 format
Using this method you can get the best possible quality from NDS music

I always knew that they would make an official soundtrack, and it looks like they may have every single track. If that isn’t a track listing for an official soundtrack, I will continue as planned.
Speaking of which, I would like for people to test my recording skills for DS games with a little recording I made myself.

This is a combination of both Sonic & Blaze’s Water Palace Stage from the previous Sonic Rush game. I really need feedback as soon as possible to make the gamerip as flawless as possible.

Please let me know what you think.
(Again, this is only to test my DS recording skills. I would like as much feedback as possible before I actually get the game on Monday.)
EDIT: Wrapped in Black (Parts 1 & 2)

This will likely be my last one for Sonic Rush. Since I get SRA on Monday (hopefully), I will be concentrating on that. Here’s to hoping that Gamecrazy (like EB Gamestop) gets the game on the first day.

And here’s how that turned out:

If you’re asking about an original soundtrack to Sonic Rush, then yes. If you are asking about Sonic Rush Adventure, not quite yet. My variation of recording doesn’t have an entire OST to offer either.
If you have a request by any chance, let me know (concerning the first Sonic Rush). Otherwise, I still plan to get SRA tommorrow if GS gets it on the first day.
Yes. (http://www.vgmworld.com/catalog/index.php?table=cocoebiz_music&item_num=446)
Unless you count my extraction.
I actually liked your extraction. It has given me a good idea of how I will aproach my gamerip.
I guess I’ll just get MY copy of Rush Adventure on Day 2 (that’s tommorrow since GS didn’t get their shipment truck today…..at least where I live).
I will be making the ENTIRE gamerip. I will not be leaving out ANY tracks for any given reason.

The thing is… Many games use instruments that are generated in realtime, rather than stored in the ROM, meaning their music doesn’t play to full-quality in VGMTrans (Animal Crossing Wild World’s "Bitten by a Tarantula/Scorpion" theme and Sonic Rush’s PSG songs are great examples of this). Other games don’t play properly in it at all (here, the original Sonic Rush is the best example, with only the Title Screen/Menus themes working). Still other games contain music that use different instrument sets at different times, but all of which play at once in VGMTrans (once again, AC: WW makes a good example here, with the Hourly music for sun, rain, and snow playing at the same time, making for an improper rip).
However, VGMTrans is useful for getting tracks that are usually overlooked for ripping (usually minor themes such as the TV show tunes in AC: WW).
Everything has its ups and downs, and VGMTrans is no exception.
Original Groove Rush (http://www.soahcity.com/music/2005_sonic_rush/index.php)
Original Sound Version (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2UZS0FUV)
Rush Adventures (http://www.sega.com/gamesite/sonicrushadv/)
There’s definitely at least one track in Sonic Rush Adventure that has that issue, even in the ‘good’ rips. Listen to the themes for zone 5 in Mogman’s rip, and compare them to the recording on the official site (http://www.sega.com/gamesite/sonicrushadv/) (it’s the third track there)… there’s a whole PSG bass line that came out as a barely audible, out-of-tune plinking in the rip in both acts.

I’m alreadey a step ahead of you. Since I get the actual game in like…..3 hours, I will already be working on it.
In order to get all of the music available for the sound test, there are missions you have to complete which are equivalant to S Rank performance (or even SS if it existed in this game). You should know what THIS would mean.
…now for the GOOD news.
Since each and every single track has a loop point that is the same as the beginning of the trac, I can easily edit each track if I record in the middle.
To make a long explanation short: It’s still on.
I’ll have a few tracks ready tommorrow for sample purposes. The entire rip will be ready Monday. (I have a LOT going on Friday & Saturday)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/0gttp0
Contains:
Machine Labyrinth Act 1
Haunted Ship Act 1
Windmill Village Mode 4
(Chosen at complete randomality….)
I’ve learned a thing or two when trying to perfect DS recording (at least for my own behalf).
This gamerip should be done by the end of the following week if I am fortunate with timing of other events.
PMed.
I think it’s time to provide a second sample of my progress.
This contains the following:
Sky Babylon – Act 1
Boss
Boss – Whisker & Johnny
Boss – Big Swell
http://www.sendspace.com/file/2hl0jn
Enjoy!
As it turns out, I need to do a volume check…particularly on said track.
Boss – Deep Core (Allegro) – I need to make sure I didn’t make this too loud. The volume was particularly difficult to decide on.
BIG SWELL ROCKS!!!!!!
Okay…
So far, nice job!! Keep it up!
Thanks!
Thanks!
I’ll include it in my last sample set. For now, I really need to complete as many tracks as possible as the total track count is 78 (including Credits & Epilouge).
This set includes the following:
Blizzard Peaks – Invincible
Pirates Island – Act 1
Boss – Big Swell (Allegro)
Windmill Village Mode 5
Cutscene – Normal
End Credits

I have to push back the release of this gamerip to Monday unfortunately. To make a long story short: I greatly underestimated the amount of time it would take to record 78 tracks, which is ironic considering that my last gamerip (Gauntlet: Dark Legacy) was 72 tracks. I’ll remember this next time.
EDIT: I think I’ll let you guess what this is.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/8xjoot
It’s not complete, but it shows that I’ve been working on it big time.
Before worrying about that, please take the time to listen to this:

I regret NOT listening to the Epilogue track in advance.
You now have the option of having the 2 tracks (Cutscene – Deep Core Clear & Epilogue) merged, dropping the track count to 77 or leaving it as it is.
Merged, finalized, awaiting upload. Once done, I will pay a visit to the Download Links Section.
