Lets start it off with numbers #10 #9 and #8:
#10:
Pennywise
There’s something about kids getting massacared by a homicidal clown that makes my spine tingle. Pennywise is one of the most devious and creppy villians ever to grace a horror film, his tricks and maniputive ways are certianly what contributed to him making the list, his enjoyment of creeping children out, eating them, lying to them and playing with their minds is simply dastardly, also like many of the horror villians on this list, Pennywise has that sick sense of humour which lets you know what a deranged fucker he is, of course there’s the factor that clowns are scary as fuck.
#9
Glen/Glenda
One minute, he’s a sweet, lovable doll with a English accent, who justs wants to get to know his mother and father, and be a family, the next, he(or should I say she) becomes one twisted, violent, psychotic killer that is probably even more insane than her parents, also small quiet boys who become badass cunts who puts their own fathers away are awesome.
#8
Tiffany
Probably the hottest killer doll in existance (sorry chucky :p) even as a human, she was pretty messed up, bringing Chucky back from the dead (Again!) then keeping him as some sort of pet, of course, Chucky ends up killing her, and she becomes a killer doll also, it’s amusing to see Chucky and Tiffany deal with the problems of their marraige while going on a killing spree, did I mention she was hot? yes I think I did :p
was this inspired by our conversation in chat?
(also, all of those villains could easily die at the hands of the charmed ones.)
Update will be later cause I have errands to run.
10. Deoxys
9. Charles Foster Kane
8. Greg Ostertag (Eddie)
7. Michael Jordan (Space Jam)
6. Super Shredder
5. Luigi
4. Mario
3. Boy from Kazaam
2. Mewtwo
1. Kazaam
10) the titans
9) tempus and inspector rodriguez
8) the crone
7) the seer
6) cole
5) the triad
4) billie and christy
3) shax
2) zankou
1) the source
and so does Leatherface, if you’ve seen The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
edit – yay 3000th post lol
Hannibal Lecter
A certified genius with a taste for human flesh? yes, Hannibal Lecter is just that, I was always intrigued by hannibals strange and disturbing ways, I haven’t seen all of his films, but what I have seen has certainly impressed me, Hannibal Lecter is awesome, and the only reason he isn’t higher is because I have not watched all of his films. ๐
#6
Chucky
I can remember the first time I saw Child’s Play, I was pretty hesistant, it looked pretty terrifying, and yeah it had it’s moments, but I found myself laughing more than screaming in terror, becuse Chucky’s antics in any of his movies are hilarious to watch, he’s nasty and cold blooded, but he has that "hilarity" factor that soo many other horror villians have, and evil possesed killer dolls are scary in their own right.
#5
Carrie
Carrie was strange girl, she didn’t talk much, never was any good at sports and didn’t have too many friends, yet there was something else, somthing stranger than that, Carrie could make…things happen, pretty bad things, it didn’t help her mother was a raging psycho or that she was bullied at school, yet Carrie got her revenge, in a very grusome and horrible way.
and Yui, I don’t wanna spoil who may or may not be on the list, so you will have to wait.
On Carrie though, have personally always had a hard time thinking of her as a villian as opposed to a victim motivated towards bad deeds out of desperation, rather than any real desire to harm others.
But IMO the genuinely creepy bitch in that film was the mother ๐ฏ
Like Mother, like Daughter.
I would list the reasons here, but doing so would mean including quite a few spoilers, and I’m about to log off in a sec anyway.
But if you’ve not already done so, I would definitley recommend reading the book upon which the film is based. Though IMO the film does a competent job of displaying the differences between both characters, the book gives a much better insight as it explains information that’s not present in the movie.
Xanadu man, it was big.

I have not read the novel, lawl.
I don’t remember much, but I do remember the snap.
and imo, when she "snapped," i don’t think she was concious about it at all. for lack of a better way of phrasing it, i think the powers took over and like, got revenge for her. you know what i mean?
oh, and Prue could totally take Carrie
Yeah, I second what Enya said. Pennywise is the best vilain of the horror movie that I know. Unfortunately, they never made a second movie with him. I just hope a remake will be released, like a few rumors said …
There are some spoilers, but I would imagine anyone who has wanted to see any of the films these villians are involved in would of done so by now.
#4
Leather face probably has the most awesome weapon out of anyone in this list, a fucking chainsaw, and the severe torture leather face puts his victims through are simply barbaric, his deranged family is worth a small mention, but leather face is the real star of theshow, Chainsaws may be pretty cliche, but this is where it all began, "THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACARE" also lol true story.
#3
Micheal Myers
A man celebrates his sister’s death every year by going on a killing spree, yes this man is called Micheal Myers, and he’s one of the most notorious killers ever, with his trusty butchers knife, strength and mysterious silence, Micheal Myers is the man who scared the crap out of everyone in the first Halloween, he also has one of the creepiest and sinister theme songs ever.
#2
Jason Voorhees
We are getting down to the nitty gritty here, and not to include Jason would be maddness, Jason has been involved in more horror films then anyone else in this list, 11 to be exact, Jason is one uncaring bastards, and kills anyone and anything in his way, though as notorious as Jason is, he can be related to Carrie, remember Jason was also bullied senseless because of his deformed head, and the kids actually brought about his death by pushing him into the lake, while the campers did nothing, and his mother’s death did not help things at all, so Jason rampages through all of his films and racks up an incredible 160 kills! that alone is good enough reason to put Jason on this list.
Ever since I watched Nightmare On Elm street, I was destined to become a Kruger fan, not only is Kruger one scary fucker, but his method of killing people is what kept me awake at night, Kruger invades your dreams, and is able to control every aspect of reality within those dreams, and in an insane way he is pretty creative, usually plays with past traumas of his victims or their fears, like many othe horror series the first film is utterly terrifying, then the others take a slightly comic route, in Nightmare On Elm streets case, it was still pretty scary, but the hilarity was there, and Kruger became a wisecracking badass killer, I prefered him most at this stage, infact Nightmare On Elm Street 3 is my fave one, Freddy Kruger has earned his spot as my number 1 horror villian, and I don’t think it will ever change ๐
I don’t really want to judge sadako, since the Japanese version is almost certainly better, but I have not seen it.
And I’m surprised that there’s not yet been a single mention of Pinhead from Hellraiser! >:O ๐
Never seen the Japanese version of The Ring, so unfortunately can’t comment there. ๐
Also in tribute to Freddy Kruger (lawl) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnRq_080zYs
Anyname I’ve stated how Kruger cannot be defeated by your phony charms, and m opinion is not changed on the subject.
I guess that explains it! lol
Would highly recommend watching the first two films, if you ever get the chance. Going by the character choices posted in here, I think it’s a pretty fair bet that you would like them. ๐
also, giga, it really is a good show. the only thing though is the special effects in the beginning of the first season really suck. it’s only towards the end of the first season that the effects get good. and the episodes themselves are really good (each season has it’s stinkers though) up until season 6. season 6 is were it kind of goes downhill. although, the season 8 finale really makes it worth it. it was sooooo amazing.
I think I may well try that one out at some point. Many thanks for the input. =)
I thought Freddy and Jason taking top spot was a little predictable, but I’m glad you included the dolls. I was hoping you’d include some genuine evil and not just mental patients.
Hmm, too bad there weren’t too many aliens nor vampires.
ok, fine, i’ll stop, but i don’t think it’s fair that you chastise me when garamond does the same thing. nothing against him ro whatever. just apply the rules fairly and equally.
If you mean in general, we don’t really enforce that rule so much in GD unless it’s a serious type thread.
If you mean in this thread, Garamond made one joke post, whereas pretty much this whole page of the thread got derailed into Charmed talk. If it’d been one post about it I wouldn’t have said anything.
Ok, I get what you mean. Sorry ndi.
As atonement, I’ll bring this thread back on track
I haven’t seen any of those villain’s movies except Carrie, so I’ll ask this: which Carrie did you prefer, the original or the remake? Having seen the remake first, I’ll have to go with that one. The special effects were awesome and I can never forget that image of a truck speeding towards Carrie and then seeing it fold in on itself like paper.
But the mom in the original Carrie is soo much creepier.
Also, did anyone see Carrie 2?
I might make a list of my own top 10. I had fun coming up with them for Ktulu’s thing this Halloween. ๐
Carrie2?
it was pretty uneventful except for Claire from Lost being in it
Carrie 2 is about a girl who lives in the same town as Carrie and develops the same abilities. Her mom is the same as Carrie’s mom because she thinks her daughter is a demon or something. She gets made fun of by the popular clique (though not as bad as Carrie was). This girl’s (who we’ll call Amy cause I can’t remember her name) best friend commits suicide because the guy she had been dating broke up with her right after she gave him her virginity. You find out that a group of guys (the jocks) are dating girls, having sex with them, then dumping them so that can add points to this notebook they have which is a record of the game their playing (who can sleep with the most girls). They decide to mess with Amy because she has pictures that will incriminate the boyfriend of the best friend (the roll of film is her best friend’s) first they try scaring her, but it doesn’t work, so then they decide to add her to the notebook and embarres her.
We find out that Amy’s dad was Carrie’s dad as well (apparently, the gene for the power is carried by males). The guy (who we’ll call zach) begins dating her and eventually falls for her. The popular people invite Amy to a party and all is going well, but then they play a video of her and the guy having sex and they show her the notebook. She becomes angry and her powers are triggered, and she starts to brutally murder the people at the party. The house catches fire as she continues her rampage. Zach comes and tells her he loves her (and apparently she loves him) and manages to bring her back to consciousness. Amy sees that the roof is about to collapse so she pushes zach out of the way, resulting in the roof caving in on her. Zach manages to pull her out and he tries to save her, but she forces him to leave the house (with her powers, I think. I can’t really remember) the movie ends with zach at college or something and he has scars from burn wounds and he looks at a picture of Amy on her desk. He looks up and sees her in the mirror, then turns around and sees no one.
Norman Bates
From Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho, this killer looks just like you or me, but he has ruthlessly murdered countless women, all without knowing it! After killing his mother, he took on her personality, even changing his voice and dressing up in her clothes, to make himself believe that she wasn’t really dead. It didn’t help that she forbade him from being with other women, and when there was another female at the motel to whom he felt attraction, he, or rather, she killed her in one of the most memorable scenes in movie history! We don’t know just how many of these women he’s killed because as he’s taking care of the main character’s body, he seems to have gone through the process of cleaning up a dead body quite a few times. Creepy!
Jason, Myers and Kruger in your top 3?. That’s super lame. Sure they’re good characters but they’re the usual masked killer with *insert point weapon here*.
What about Norman Bates, Nosferatu (Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens), Buffulo Bill (Silence of the lambs), The creature from "The Thing, Hellraiser and such?.
Chucky?. Blow it out your arse. ๐

Man, Kruger was an awesome killer. He had wit and personality and stood out among the usual masked killers of the genre.
I’m a big fan of Myers and Voorhees but have to admit Freddy was much different from them. By miles. I don’t like him that much more from the rest, but he wasn’t like them at all.
Sure they’re good characters but they’re the usual masked killer with *insert point weapon here*.
that is not a bad thing, since when did masks= bad? like you said they are good charecters, and that is good enough to make it on my list, not just their appearance.
Norman Bates, Nosferatu (Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens), Buffulo Bill (Silence of the lambs), The creature from "The Thing?Blow it out your arse. ๐
01. Captain Spaulding because who doesn’t like free fried chicken, and killin’?!
02. The NEW Leatherface, I hate the old TCM movies. They were stupid. The new ones rule.
03. The NEW Michael Myers, the 7 ft tall motherfucker that’d kill you just for looking at him the wrong way
04. Hannibal Lechter. This guy has always been a favorite o’ mine.
05. Jason Voorhees, ’cause he’s more or less immortal, and he is an evil badass.
06. The bad guys from Hostel… that movie was fucked-up, but it was awesome.
07. Norman Bates from Psycho. Too bad Anthony Perkins died of AIDS in 1993.
08. The Hills Have Eyes 1 & 2 remakes. Like I said, the old ones suck.
09. Any Vincent Price film. He’s a god among horror films.
10. Me. Sometimes I scare myself. Especially when looking in the mirror at my fat, ugly, grotesque body. Bluh!

I forgot about this one. Another one of my favourites!
Though when it comes to villains in psychological thrillers, out of those I’ve watched so far, I’ve not yet seen any performance which has topped Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter, Anthony Perkins portrayal of this one comes pretty close!
I didn’t think much of the remake they did though. ๐
9. Freddy
8. Jason
7. John Doe (Kevin Spacey in Se7en)
6. Devils Rejects (whole fam)
5. Norman Bates (Psycho)
4. Asami (Asian broad from Audition)
3. Leatherface
2. Michael Meyers
1. Satan (any movie)
That’s a good reason to go check them out so. ๐
that is not a bad thing, since when did masks= bad? like you said they are good charecters, and that is good enough to make it on my list, not just their appearance.
I didn’t say masks=bad at all. Look at Leatherface, now he’s a true horror legend in a movie that’s actually scary rather than the likes of Jason Vorhees. I know you listed him but the top three were kind of disappointing and generic. Anyway, just my opinion.
Also, what Mossy said.
True, also i felt sorry for him throught the film.
There are plans for a sequel, possibly Freddy vs Jason vs Micheal Myers or Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash(from evil dead)- although sadly, this one looks to be dropped, it would be the most awesome thing ever if those 3 went at it!
the top three were kind of disappointing and generic.
You may have a tiny point with Myers and Jason, even though I still disagree, but Kruger is certainly not generic or disppointing.
TM, i meant like, them all having a battle royal. i think carrie would win, cause i mean, she’s a pissed off telekinetic.
also, how is ash from evil dead a villain?
So long as you don’t mind a few spoilers ๐
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinhead_(Hellraiser)#Character_details_.26_persona lity
The main villain in "30 Days of Night" was a bastard too.
2. Jason
3. Michael Myers
4. Leather Face
5. Carrie
6. Chucky
7. Hannibal the Cannibal
8. Tiffany
9. Glen/Glenda
10. Pennywise
Aside from the godfathers of Slashers, I have to say some are okay and others don’t even deserve to be named.
Carrie isn’t a villain, and Hannibal is more of an anti-hero.
Here’s my list (no particular order):
Freddy – Just knowing that a Serial killer can kill you in the safest place you can be. With in your dreams. To bad with each movie his character became a joke.
Jason – A disabled kid that comes back from the dead to seek revenge. What more do you want.
Michael Myers – The lifeless mask alone creeped me out.
Regan (The Exorcist) – The first scary movie I saw as a kid. Just thinking that a demon is able to take over a person.
Damien – It’s the Anti-Christ, the freakin son of the devil himself. Lets not forget about all the soulless worshipers and demonic rottweilers that protect him.
Jupiter and the Clan – Deliverance in the desert.
John Doe (Se7en) – Methodical, Highly inteligent, Catholic doing God’s work.
Leatherface – A deformed, cannibal with an Gender identity crisis, who has help from his family of psychos.
The Strangers (Dark City) – They can change your entire life in your sleep from good to bad or vice versa.
Zombies (28 days/weeks later) – Zombies are harmless enough since they’re supposed to stagger about. Now they run!
.
The Omen was remade last year too.
Tiffany and Glen/Glenda barly came out in the late 90’s / early 2000’s, while Chucky came out in the 80’s.
The Hills Have Eyes isn’t actually new either. Just like most of the old films, it was remade.
Another remake (A new adaptation actually) coming out is I am Legend. The first adaptation was The Last Man On Earth, and the 2nd was The Omega Man.
Some advice, I wouldn’t recommend watching the old films and expecting a big scare. Most of these films are rather tame by today’s standards.
I AM NOT CRUEL FOR SOME REASON I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY BECAUSE LIKE I DON’T KNOW WHY IT JUST WAS FOR SOME REASON
I would highly recommend at least watching the first Saw movie. Great stuff imho. Though certainly not for the squeamish.
#10-Baby Firefly (House of 1000 Corpses & The Devils Rejects)
#9-Captain Spaulding (House of 1000 Corpses & The Devils Rejects)
#8-Otis (House of 1000 Corpses & The Devils Rejects)
#7-Tiffany (Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky)
#6-Chuckie (Childs Play)
#5-Hannibal Lector (Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, and Hannibal)
#4-Leather Face (Texas Chainsaw Massacre)
#3-Jupiters Clan (The Hills Have Eyes)
#2-Jason Voorhes (Friday the 13th)
#1-Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street)
Too bad it’s loosely inspired by the psychofuck Ed Gein from Wisconsin.
There is more than one jigsaw I think, though I probably should watch a SAW movie.
Also nice list Tifa, I have never seen 1,000 corpses or devil’s rejects, but I like your other choices, Juipiter and his clan are fucking baddass. It’s a shame I saw the original after I made the list (maybe I’ll post an updated one).
Ah, didn’t realise that. Sorry that’s what I meant, the first Saw film. ๐
Sorry, clearly the film’s not too familiar around here.
John Carpenter’s The Thing.
If you haven’t seen it, I strongly recommend.
Mac wants the WHAT?!
